I used to have a tomcat (just a domestic shorthair) who could jump from a standstill to the top of our sliding glass door (about 6'8") when he saw bugs out there. He weighed 21 pounds and was not fat...

Most healthy domestic cat hand jump at least 6' when they are in their prime. My 10lbs cat would jump on top of the fridge from the floor to get the bread, that a very average size cat.

The caracal is very smart. He knew exactly how high to jump to get the food. I am sure it can jump higher if needed.

I like KZfaq. They now even remove comments without vulgarity. They removed this comment below and I can't see why. "Why do this to these beautiful animals? Who gives a damn that they jump so high?
