Now we have a comparison for The Jungle Book. Not many releases like 101 Dalmatians. The VHS has too much contrast, which is weird because the demo tape looked very different. And the 1999 DVD has that obnoxious blue tint the film suffers with turning a green jungle into a turquoise jungle. Enjoy.

It's the vhs that brings me back to my old room in my mom's duplex. I was probably in kindergarten but I use to have a white bed and my carousel horse next to it!

It's really weird for me to see the two later versions seeing as the first is the version I grew up with, ha ha. I guess I never realised just how 'dark' everything was, the later versions are more consistent with more modern animations in terms of colouring for dark scenes, by the looks of things.

The 1999 DVD shares the same 1997 THX restoration master. It has cool colors (due to a turquoise-emerald dominance) but at least, it's not cropped. In Italy, this video master can be found in the April 2000 VHS, that also contains the italian opening credits.

What color are Mowgli’s shorts in the 1991 VHS version of The Jungle Book (1967), the 199 DVD version of The Jungle Book (1967), the 2007 DVS version of The Jungle Book (1967)?

@@harolddexter4121 The 2007 DVD is widescreen (cropped for theaters back then), while the 1999 DVD is full-screen.
