A lesson of this is that, a good Christian is a good citizen. How can you be a tenant and not paying your rent and yet claiming to be a Christian? May the lord take this justice court far higher.

This man is arrogant, he is trying to use religion to play into the emotions of the landlord. He even suggested to the court that he and the landlord has some personal hidden secrets, some kind of a blackmail which eventually forced the landlord to give him 4 months because of the hint of a blackmail.

That tenant had so much entitlement and arrogance, it was disgusting.

This tenant is taking advantage of this young man because according to him(tenant) he knows the landlord’s mother. That’s nonsense, it’s strictly business. Always have a written contract with your tenants which should include move-in date and term of the tenancy, ie how long tenant hopes to rent, how much is the rent and hue often rent will be paid, monthly or yearly, what tenant is allowed to do and is not allowed to do with property and tenant should keep property in good condition and the consequences of not paying rent when due and then both tenant and landlord should sign and each person gets a copy of the agree which is legally binding. The landlord must issue tenant with a receipt signed by landlord, that way he can keep tabs of when and how payment was made, cash, bank draft, personal check bank transfer into landlord’s account. Do this and there will be no ‘he said, she said’ nonsense. This man says he’s a Christian, the Bible says pay your debt. This is for all you landlords. You can choose to give your tenant a grace period after which you can evict, this should also be part of the original contract.

I think this tenant didn't know how to express himself. He felt cheated or used from his statement, I think he has helped the plaintiff before but was surprised about how the plaintiff did. He might pay all those money to him but doesn't have proper record.
