I feel so bad for young women growing up today, anything less than perfect and you feel so inadequate in terms of beauty. That effects young girls mental health so poorly and it’s mostly because of the kardashians. No other group of people has influenced beauty culture as much as them but were suppose to feel bad for Khloe while she and her fam has made billions off selling a false hope?

Young girls are thinking that the only way to validate themselves is to attain impossible physical beauty, It’s unreal how vain the new generation is and it’s mostly the fault of the kardashians and Instagram models that young girls see everyday

I agree!!! It is such a crying shame to see preteen girls trying to look hot and sexy. Their youth should be as free and uncomplicated as it can be. I was born in the late fifties so I have seen a lot of changes and this one is just heartbreaking. Also, now we have the hot mom phenomenon. Go on Tik Tok and check out "Hot Mom Check" It is just sad and pathetic.....

The thing is it was not an old picture. It’s a picture of what she really looks like right now. Yet they over photoshop it so everyone else believes they have unrealistic or unattainable looks. Just like when Kim’s picture in the beach that showed how her body really looked like but no one knew because of how much photoshop she did to it.

this is what I came here to say. I got confused when they kept referring to old photo and how she used to look, thinking they were now talking about something else... the photo in question is from the Easter break. That's the problem - it's a current, unedited photo, and shows how fake and filtered her usual IG / social media photos are.

Agreed. I have a relative who already fits into the "perfect face mask" that is based on the golden ratio, and yet I noticed she wants plastic surgery to be closer to the Kardashian ideals. She doesnt need plastic surgery. She never pursued Kardashian features (big lips and butt) until recently and I wonder how much of it is because the Kardashian/Jenner look is now the idealized look all over Instagram right now.

Might just be me but even the fact that Khloe thought that picture that leaked of herself was so repulsive to the point where she hired lawyers to take it down only furthers the beauty standards they’re setting. It’s pretty much saying that if your body looks like what hers does in the picture (which is bomb btw) that’s not good enough. Just some thoughts

I’m no expert by ANY stretch, but Armenians have always given off a middle eastern-vibe, like a lighter skinned version of Iranian or something....which isn’t black or white, it’s just middle eastern, closer to Arabian than anything. But that’s not the point that was being made in the video. The point that was trying to be made was that the younger two daughters weren’t considered even that because they weren’t daughters of Kardashian, they were daughters of Jenner, and I guess he and Kris are both 100% white. Its because in America the definition of white is if you have an anglo saxon look. In Portugal,Spain,Italy,Slavic countries,and Mediterranean people in general you find a lot of caucasian ppl with a more dark skin and hair that share the same aspects of anglo-saxon looks, but they still mantain their characteristics.

The "matcha" tea and Kim's initial shapewear name kimino, and a lot of her styles are from Japanese culture The turmeric and ashwagandha kourtney markets and sells as poosh collagen is stolen from India. They constantly have butt implants and make them look black ripping off black culture. Black women , latinas and south Asian women have had curvy body for years but it's a shame its recognized now coz of the Kardashians. They just rip off everything from what these women have been having for so many years. I liked the kardashains when I was younger but Andrew articulated the biggest problem with the kardashains/ jenners so flawlessly, selling beauty and fitness products especially to an audience of young girls when you have had numerous surgeries is not only false advertising but it’s mental damaging only when you lie about it. Surgery use to be a mostly for middle age white woman and now teens and early twenties and running to the knife for every normal insecurity.

I'm a 6'4" black woman, and I will not be fitting in with any "normal" standards and I'm ok with that because I don't worry about things I have no control over and isn't even a problem. Ii agree. I used to follow a make up KZfaq way back. I really enjoyed her tutorials and thought she was beautiful. She plumped her lips so much that she lost her beauty. I stopped following her. I felt like she started promoting hating your own body. She got breast implants, super plumped lips, and ass injections.

Damn Andrew got the best takes about the kardashians. It’s really a disappointment to see other women support them. It’s not just about the surgery it’s about the whole movement they started and centered the surgery, airbrushed edits and filters and this idea of perfection to surround their brand and entire identity. They turned this impossible standard into a trend so they are not allowed to complain about something that they themselves invented

They did create the standard for themselves and a lot of other ppl. However, if people on Instagram were coming up saying they wanted more realness and less filters, the Kardashians wouldn't be so popular. They might have created the standard but the ppl on Instagram bought into and perpetuated it. And they can come out with whatever "standards" they want- you don't have to go along with it. If you know and believe that you are beautiful (and you are), don't feel like you have to filter yourself.

Beauty Standards have been around for the longest time waaaaaaaaay before the kardashians popped up! They didn’t create them. They fell for them. At the end of the day they are human with insecurities like plenty women out there and also pressure to look perfect for their fans. We live in a world where people look up to celebrities and mold their lives around celebrities and literally worship celebrities. So unfortunately their millions of followers look at them like they are the standard and perpetuate their looks. The Kardashians didn’t ask anyone to look like them. If society would push more real and natural looks we won’t be here today. But no Instagram created more filters🤷🏾‍♀️. We condemn them but we put them on our magazines tv etc to elevate them. We chose them. Saying diaper butt etc but let’s see a woman with no butt and the horrible comments you’d read. So which is which? Do we get the butt or no? Same people: Khloe is ugly and fat. Same people after Khloe gets surgery: oh she looked better before. Just be yourself. Follow people’s mouths and you’ll be sad depressed and botched!!!

I am not a fan of the Kardashians. I have never watched any full anything they've done. But they did not create the unrealistic beauty standard. They gave into it, and their massive popularity then helped further and reinforce it. I think we need to remember though they gave in because they were being critized for not living up to impossible standards.

THANK YOU!!! They didn’t create anything. Society has always had beauty standards! It’s the society that picks who should be the standard. It’s us! Big lips in the days of Angelina Jolie and big butts from JLO and Beyoncé. Never did I hear people bashing Angelina for creating big lips standard or Beyoncé or JLO for creating big butt standard. Even iggy Azalea had a big butt. Nicki Minaj Amber Rose etc. but somehow it’s all Kim’s fault. now Kylie is to blame for lip injections on the rise? Kylie was also insecure about her thin lips! like plenty other women out there. At the end of the day they are celebrities that try to look “perfect” for us. People laughed at Khloe all the time for being fat and ugly and not a kardashian now she goes and gets surgery and the same people say oh why she was so beautiful before. 🥴🥴 damned if you do damned if you don’t. They have insecurities too and the pressure to look good always. It’s the society that put them up there and decided that they are the standard.

You can't turn around and blame someone for being in a mindset that we as a society pushed her into. There wasn't this big outcry when she was being derided. There wasn't this big out cry when she was getting the work done. You can't be mad she had a freak out because an photo, contradicting the image society told her she had to cultivate to be acceptable, got out. That's victim blaming.
