The Kawasaki VN2000 super cruiser

Riding the VN2000 is fantastic. The large 2053cc V-twin engine gives you an experience you will never forget.
This ride is very fare from the original setup. New exhaust, new airbox complemented by a PowerCommander and a Autotune which leaves the two cylinders tuned to perfection. Running an AFR of 13,5 at low rev and 14,5 at cruse range.

I picked up a 2006 right before winter last year. I've been enjoying my daily commute (42 miles round trip). Fun motorcycle.

I absolutely love my 2006 VN2000 that I ride in Japan. I wish it were a bit lighter though for slow maneuvering.

Yes actually very good over 120kmt. Takes wind pressure off of your body. Think it is Puig.

I have the same bike, about to do a DynoJet on. I absolutely love this machine!! What is the squeaking on yours? My belt squeals bad when it's warm, super annoying. I think I also have some injector chirp.

tokillamurderer Yes I also have a bad squeal on mine. There is a fix for that, a shim of about 2mm that is placed between the rear pulley and the rim. Will du this mod at next tire change. I know the guy that sells these.

Yes the belt squeak is quite annoying and I have no idea how to fix it. I do however use silicon oil, which I apply to the side of the belt (outer side) and it will work for a short time. Would like to get a permanent fix, if anyone knows how :-)

@@tokillamurderer Finally I solved the problem. First, the belt has to be completely clean, using water and maybe a little soap. Then tighten the belt slightly, but not too much though. Also adjust so that the belt is centered, which can be a little dificult, but possible.

Are you wearing a harness like Gopro Chesty? Cause I can clearly see in your mirror that you're not mounting it to your helmet :) Love the bike! I ride VN900 and I feel it's something missing already. I need this 2053cc monster! :D

These bikes are really strong and I never heard of any real issues. They need new oil once a year and a filter and they will run forever. You can catch us on Facebook, look for vn2000.

Really no decel popping, no backfiring at low rpm's? I have the V&H Powershots on my V2K, too.

Michael Winter As long as the machine is cold it does not pop. When it gets really hot it will do it a little.

Sounds good. Mine is ECU tuned, but it does pop. Maybe I should try a PC&AT. Thanks Henrik.

Yes I can recomend a PC and an Autotune AT300. It removes nearly all the popping and makes the motor run perfect at all loads and gears. I have made a very small video which shows my setup. I have installed the Autotune my self and have been playing a lot with the setup in order to make it smooth. We can talk more on Facebook (look at VRA Denmark).

What's the point when you have to slow down so much to take even the lightest of corners or risk catching the footboards. These things were built for the US interstate or motorways on anything else they are pretty much useless. You'd have more fun on a 500cc bike on those roads.
