I PLAYED SO MUCH UMK3 AT EAST COAST THROWDOWN LAST WEEKEND!!!
Here is the full cut of every 1v1 match I played. Some of the matches cut out due to streaming issues, most likely related to venue internet.
Thanks so much to the Kombat Network team for being such good sports. I had a wonderful time revisiting my all time favorite game.

Well this one is more faster and intense. Mk11 is more slower and careful and combos are slower and floaty. I believe what is faster and more intense is naturally more flashy and more "eye candy"

@@pizzahighfive2612 mk 11 is not "floaty" or more "careful". This game creates better momentum and doesn't have all that bs around it like kb or slo mo every 10 seconds. The punishing system feels much more alive in this game other than mk 11, always the same punishment, the same combos and the same tactics. It's my opinion and i think that mk 11 is hot garbage. Everything is based around staggers with fast recoveries. If a character has a fast mid stagger with fast recovery you got a top tier, cuz you don't need anything else in this game.

I always loved how many excessive body parts rain down on the stage after certain fatalities. Like how many people you know that have 3 arms and 2 rib cages?

I find it funny how Sega with its limitation made it more realistic bc it couldnt render more body parts. Its the Arcade version that had 5 heads and 300 limbs every brutality

MK11 tried to be like MK9 but stripped away everything that made it great. MKX genuinely recaptured the feeling of the faster pace of MK3.

@@jesuspernia8031 I just wish the run input wasn't asinine. They could have easily put it onto L2. No stance switching? Make it so you have to press forward + L2 to run and L2 in place if you want to switch stances. But nah, they instead opted to make it more complicated than need be.

MK9 is the best! If you learn wave dashing no run button needed and it did a better job of capturing the look of the first three games than MKx. MKX is so overrated by people who just didn’t understand movement in MK9. Wave dashing actually takes skill while running does not.

This is true MK 👍 such a good game. Simple at times but so much fun. I'm liking this version of umk3 as well. Adds trilogy elements into it. Wish they'd get back to this formula. They were closer to it with MKX but took a step back with 11.

PS1 had options to get around the shang morphs but it resulted in an inferior version of shang in general.

Man, Cyrax has such an awesome design and interesting moveset, but those bombs never ever hit :( These matches are awesome tho. I really want to get back into this game. I had so much fun with the 2D MK games as a kid

UMK3 cyrax was about using the bombs to make you squirm, and then using hella moves that blockjail you into it. A lot of the cyrax combos don't look like combos at all but it's ALLLLL guaranteed.

Stryker has a massive interruptive combo tool set, and one of the most mobile characters in the game due to the balance of both close and long range aggressive combat.

Did you get a chance to check out the improved character select screen on UMK3+? You wouldn't have to hold special buttons to select rain of you had it enabled.

With Rain, I used to do a combo that involved the roundhouse exploit. Stun bubble, lightning, roundhouse about 2-3 times, uppercut. The punch/kick combo was the most extensive of his, yielding the most damage of his combo sets.

When this game was available on the xbox 360 10 years ago , i would be up day n night playing others online . Sadly they tool it off the marketplace . I still have the original on my xbox but i hardly ever find anyone to play with . Took me 20 min of refreshing to find someone lol

Is uppercut jump kick punch really the best combo for sector?

Depends on the character. The max damage you can get from teleport uppercut is HP into JK, but HP will whiff vs certain characters. You can also end in RH which is good damage plus smart missile baits. Unfortunately his combo potential outside the corner for TU is not very good. Sektor is a struggle character at highest level.

Fact: Umk3 has more faster and more intense paced neutral with fast combos that make screen shake. MK11 is more of that slower paced neutral with floaty combo mechanics with character models walking and jumping in a clunkier 3d model way. My opinion: I like em both.

In the argument about Spear vs. Harpoon, both of them are long tubed shaft w/ a sharp tip. Spears and Harpoons are both staff based. IF you want to get technical, it's a chain dart or a spear headed chain. Midway and everyone else called it a spear since day one, so I don't see what the issue is. :P

I have always thought they could have added at least one or two more special moves for Sektor. Something like a firewall as a motion trap, or something like an ankle grab to rip block campers out of their hiding spot from a distance. (Especially since the missiles and the teleport are vulnerable to blocks.)

I would love nothing more than a sick port to current consoles. I think it just depends on if the powers that be deem it profitable. I do play MK11! Just not on stream or anything as my availability to play is incredibly limited thanks to my job and stuff. - Ketchup
