Offers have been dangled his way, with Prime Minister Raila Odinga, Deputy Prime Ministers Uhuru Kenyatta and Musalia Mudavadi, as well as Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka scrambling for a deal with Ruto ahead of the march 2013 race to state house. Francis Gachuri examines the Ruto factor in this week's edition of Kibaki Succession.

Of all these political players....Raila, Kalonzo, Musalia, Uhuru.....notice that William Ruto is the only one who is truly the son of a nobody. He is not from any royal family like all the rest. He has struggled, hustled, fought and manoeuvred every inch on his way to the top. He his truly an inspiration to every Kenyan who knows this exact struggle. To lift yourself from the bottom to greatness. The rich kids in Kenya have no idea, but we ordinary Kenyans know this life. Congratulations president WSR.
