The fact that Muse had to be cancelled for this show that a lot of ppl were looking forward to, and The Killers covered one of their big hits for those attending speaks pretty highly of these dudes.

Muse were supposed to play the night before this at Lolla but were cancelled because of storms! This was such a sweet gesture on Brandon's part!

This is actually a pretty impressive vocal performance. Matt Bellamy is an unreal vocalist, and this guy did it justice.

I don't understand the haters coming out on this. Brandon did miss a few notes - but like a few others have said, for The Killers to give back a gesture like this (on literally less than 24hrs notice) to the festival crowd who sadly missed out on a full Muse set the prior night and to have the cojones to cover a song like that with the vocal range that it does, should give some major props to them. Aside from a few vocal slips, musically it sounds great! It's not about how spot on they were able to re-create the song, it was about giving a great moment to the festival crowd and a tip of the hat to Muse as well. It was really awesome being there to experience all of it

His knowing smile afterwards was adorable! 😂❤ I will always love Brandon for even attempting to sing my favorite Muse song (in the same original key, which Muse doesn't even do live!) in its entirety. Great commitment and effort, especially since they usually do real short versions of cover songs.

Imagine having to learn a song in 1/2 a day and sing it in front of a bazillion people. This was excellent considering! When Brandon tries to hit some of those notes, he even smirks/laughs...you know he knows he can't get them!

I love how he smiles at the missed notes, like, "This song is difficult for trained singers to hit fluidly. You try it."

Muse, The Killers and Keane are my favorite band from that time. I love them all.

Okay, I was expecting much worse from some of the comments! I know Bellamy has a much higher range than Brandon, but honestly up until the very end, like 3:40, he nailed it and it sounds just like it's supposed to, he just missed that one note. Considering they had never performed that song before and how much higher Bellamy's voice is, they killed it. Not to mention it's such a lovely gesture to cover a song for a band that couldn't play.

This was really cool. I'm a huge fan of both bands, and it was really interesting how this highlighted the differences between Brandon and Matt. You could tell Brandon is not used to singing that way, but I would never call his singing bad

It's true, this song is a deceptive technical minefield; the transitions are built for a light tenor's shifts, and Brandon's overtly heroic sound and approach is surprisingly nimble when the moments of truth come a-crashin' down. It's even a challenge for a light tenor. I love Brandon for going for it. It's the only way I would ever have known he's actually Human. He would certainly work out his approach if he performed it much. But I love seeing him working on the limits. Very revealing about his good nature and musical integrity: total truth and transparency every time he performs. Brandon: he's Human! 😂

This is honestly beautiful. Love Muse and The Killers two of my favourite bands ever. They had under 24hrs to do this and they did a great job. Brandon has a completely different vocal range to Matt but it was gorgeous. He even made the audience sing just like Matt does at their concerts xxxxxxx

I literally had to do research when I discovered starlight wether or not muse and the killers somehow have the same singer, because either it’s just me or do they sound extremely similar?! Starlight remindes me of multiple songs from the killers, the vibe, the vocals sound so much like something they’d write! Oh to hear the crowd screaming „our hopes and expectations“ live once!

I always thought starlight resembled the killers' style, despite matt having a higher vocal range, this is very nice! I love both bands and it's so cool seeing this support in the industry, in contrast to the usual competition between bands

I don't get why people are saying this is bad. Sure, Brandon occasionally doesn't hit all of the right notes or sometimes wavers a bit too much between two different notes, but he got the vast majority of notes right. None of what he sang was completely out of tune, except for the conclusion. He was just forcing it too much, as though he thinks his voice is too soft to lower a bit. But he can definitely nail it if he just takes it easy.

Audio does not do him justice. The song sounded waaaaay better live.

it's a good cover to be honest, both on the side of the vocals than on the side of the instrumental. bellamy has a larger vocal range than flowers, but both are amazing tenors. brandon couldn't reach all the high notes of the song, but muse plays starlight live an half-step down (the studio version is actually in standard tuning). maybe it's brandon's voice itself which lets you thinks that he sings lower notes than the original song whilst he actually sing the same notes, i don't know. anyway, they interpreted the song in their own way and they enjoyed it, that's the principal, the point is not who performs the best this song.

I actually really like the way he sang it, and I'm the biggest Muse fan. Not in a million years would he get Micro Cuts, Shrinking Universe or Showbiz though XD That bit at 03:44 where he tried to go higher using what I think was falsetto was the only thing that sounded off to me, I think that's why he did not try it again on the follow up line lol

I love when 2 of my favorite bands collide through music! The Killers actually chose my favorite Muse song of all time. This was an overall a great tribute, considering they learned to perform this song only within a day of this performance. Also, this is a very hard song to sing live, and Brandon gave it his best effort. As far as I know, the only other singer (besides Matt Bellamy) that sings this effortlessly is Adam Lambert.

Considering this is actually really hard to sing, this was amazing and I think they chose a really good song to do cause somehow it "fits" the Kilers
