One of the best bands ever. One of the best songwriters ever. Some of the best and most influential songs ever. Their place at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was reserved before the Hall was ever open.

The greatest Rock'N Roll band of all times. The first concert I ever saw live, back in 82. And never a more interesting tale of young British musicians in America back in 65.

Ray said in an interview that Dave was insufferable, but he had just sent him a birthday card saying "Why do I love you so much?" or something sappy like that. One of them tried to commit suicide and the other one came to take care of him. Dave started the band and Ray came in and took over. He probably resented that.

The kinks, the bros, get more attention. Then the hollies, wow.
Bought the first Kinks' album on Reprise in 1964 ? Love you guys forever, and people listen to Muswell Hillbillys - underappreciated jewel. The Hollies mostly sucked.

"The Kinks Pt2 1990 US H_O_F Inducktion" - Put that into the search field. I don't know how to link to it. After trying to insert the link in this post it came back with an ERROR; I guess it won't allow links to be posted in that way.

@matthewstetson7118 жыл бұрын
Yes he did. As much as I appreciate RD's brilliance, he is often times a jerk towards Dave and I consider that more than sibling rivalry. People rightly say the Kinks are underrated and since that's the case, Dave is incredibly underrated. Incredible band throughout all their many reincarnations.

Just like in any relationship (and, from experience, the relationship between two brothers can be very, very complicated), the only people who have a chance at understanding it are the two people in it. We, on the outside, will never truly know what either of them feel.
@thebrazilianatlantis1655 жыл бұрын
It was a joking reference to the fact that Ray's speech was in front of Dave.
