Viva The Knife! The most mysterious element of this bro/sis electronic duo is the heavy use of steel drum sounds. I typically only hear steel drums when I take a wrong turn at Cool Runnings and wind up on that road that runs along that one ridge to the northeast of Margaritaville. Y’all know the one I mean, mon! Irie! I would say Jamaican me crazy wit those sounds, but that’s horrible and I would never, ever say that without looking around to make sure I don’t see any brown people around. I’m not a racial, after all. Sheesh. But yeah- why steel drum? It’s not just this song. It’s odd. Now, of course, I want to hear the steel drum because it goes with Knife music. I can’t shake the island vibe, though, like hearing ukulele.
