I loved this episode - Simone’s new cowl looks scrumptious. I’ve been worried about you in this epic snowfall, which I’ve been reading about; glad you’re all okay.Kim, I love your sense of humor and scatalogical talk is what we do in the Adirondacks. I even have a field guide that details all different kinds and how to recognize them. I hope all the folks who watch are subscribing - it’s a known “grumble” of some KZfaqrs who admit that people don’t know the value of subscribing and think it’s ok to just watch every week without that formal tie-in. Comments and thumbs up are so great - but now, apparently, we all work for things called “algorithms.” So SUBSCRIBE, you guys! XX

Love the Sheep Harmony! Another plug for Chapman's ice cream. They are local to us. Not only did they keep their employees and pay them during the fire, they saved a school from being closed and they now share profits with their employees. I wish there were more like them, it should be the way of the world. The thing I love about living in a small town, semi-rural area is that community thing, People checking on each other, helping out. And I was so amazed that during a snow storm no-one is expected to be anywhere. Though I dont go to a workplace any more, we were concerned about booking doctor and dental appointments in January because of having to cancel them in case of weather. In the City we would get charged for that. But here the receptionists said " Oh that's a given. No worries at all. Just call and we will reschedule". Winter is easier away from the city! Sadly though, things are changing all too fast here 😒

I'm only 18 minutes in but felt compelled to comment so soon as that Coyote calling was absolutely awesome, it made my skin tingle. You are all very brave living out in the wild. Anyway, I'm going to continue watching the rest of the show now but thank you all for bringing such interesting topics every single episode. Kim, I can just imagine your face in the early hours when Ken started woofing😂😂, very quick thinking Ken!

Always enjoy your “shows” and learn something new. This comment is not about knitting this time but I am in North Carolina and had never heard of Quality Street candy until you all talked about it. The very next day I was watching Doc Martin and the policeman Joe Penhale of their village was handing out Quality Street candy for his station Open House. The people came for the candy but not the station tour Poor Joe! But thanks to you all I knew about Quality Street candy 🙂 Love your knitting!

Our friend's sheep farm, we looked after last year, were given a 2hr warning the fire was heading towards their farm. Lucinda's partner and son stayed behind. The wind thankfully turned. No sheep were lost. The nearby town Pomonal lost 46 homes. Thats so funny with the scat and paper.

Another fabulous podcast! So many interesting and fun segments, and lots of inspiration, including the blanket MKAL. Loved Simone’s new cowl pattern, and Betsy’s little mouse. That Chestnut cardigan is gorgeous, Betsy’s Scandinavian sweater, and Kim I love that Northumberland blue sweater you are making! I love watching the sheep in the snow, that was lovely. Your podcasts are always great…I’ve been watching for quite sometime now maybe around two years. They keep getting better and better…and last night the time flew! Keep up the great work. My goodness, that model in the new Rowan book is so beautiful! I am thinking about ice cream now, thanks guys. Chapman ice cream is not available in the US. I am thinking about what Betsy said about a serving is just how much you can get in a bowl. Who uses a bowl? Much more efficient to eat right out of the carton. Love Simon's new cowl pattern. Enjoyed the podcast as always. One of my favs.

Great podcast as usual. I appreciated the discussion on gauge, I don’t mind doing a swatch to determining gauge but have skipped it for smaller projects and either used more yarn than expected or it was too tight to showcase the knitting. A good reminder about the importance for any project. I enjoyed the harmony section today, when the sheep were lined up, their tiny legs and the white snow it looked like corrugated ribbing! 😊 Have a great couple of weeks.

Sheep are so funny ... "Listen up girls, Ken's taking a video so all together now move forward towards him ... stop, stand still, wait, ok move forward, stop now, wait, hey, brown fleece you're sideways, straighten up with the rest of us, that's better, now white fleece is sideways, that's enough, cut". I just love catching up with you all on the podcast! Such a warm, friendly vibe the three of you have going! I had to chuckle when you talked about each of you doing one part of the process - each doing either your favorite part or what you don't mind doing. I have found that I enjoy the process of knitting, but I really disklike the finishing parts so much so that I have about a half dozen unfinished projects. I wasn't going to allow myself to start any new projects until I finished those, but that didn't last because I missed knitting! So, those projects will just sit unfinished while I happily enjoy knitting. My mother-in-law used to help me with the finish work because she enjoyed that and it gave her something to while watching TV, but she's no longer able to do my finish work! I look forward to your knitting, crochet AND spinning podcast each time a new episode drops!

FYI for those trying to keep house pets safe from coyotes...I saved all my salon haircut clippings and gave them to a lady with a small dog. She wanted to let the dog out without worrying about her dog being attacked by coyotes. They lived out in the country. She set some of the hair out in clumps about 1 foot apart in a long line some 2 feet away for the end of the dog lead... then next time she placed it about 2' away from the last line of hair...and so on till it was well out of reach of the dog's area. This hair was always replaced after snow/rain. She said it worked well to keep coyotes away from the porch area because the tracks came up to the line of hair, stopped & turned away. Before trying the hair method the tracks in the snow came right up to the porch. They really didn't like the human hair. My Uncle used it in his garden/yard and saved all his landscaping which deer had almost completely stripped. He said each time they put fresh hair down the deer came over a small hill, heads went up and they'd sniff and turn to walk away. That said I loved all the knitting, spinning and the new cowl design.

Because of Simone’s zen when she’s support spindling I have begun doing it myself. Self taught from KZfaq videos. I LOVE it! I agree It definitely is more difficult to procure spindles and much more expensive than drop spinning. Support spinning is my preference now. Could you maybe do a little bit on an episode about what your process is after you finish the spin? Moving it off the spindle, storing the cop, and then plying set up……that would be magnificent
