I think if you use earphones or headphones the left side can only be heard for this video. It may have been a setting I used. I will fix it for the next time, in-shā-a-Allāh. However to solve the problem so you can hear from both left and right please go to your audio settings on your laptop or phone and select mono audio.

Brother Hamza, I lost everything I ever had, I lost my job, my home, my family, my friends, my honour, my prospects of marriage, all I have left from the blessings of Allah is myself and my health and I thank Allah for that, please pray for me I have truly destroyed myself.

*Seven ways to act upon abstract knowledge*: 1. Make distinction between only knowing and truly knowing ( truly knowing changes one state of being) 2. Know the purpose and objectives of acquiring knowledge (is it to please Allah and become a better version of oneself or just for the sack of intellectual beautification or to become an intellectual celebrity) 3. Sit in the company of people who have actualized knowledge because transformed people give rise to transformation or state of being gives rise to state of being 4. Make dua to Allah(SWT) from knowledge that don't benefits or not beneficial for the soul and ask for knowledge that benefits 5. Know that only a purified heart from major diseases like arrogance, ostentation, self-aggrandizement, blame worthy jealousy leads to a sound intellect that can acquire truly knowing. So strive for a sound and purified heart to internalise knowledge by the intellect 6. Reflect on the negative consequence or cons of abstract knowledge (it's an analogy of a donkey carrying lots of books) and pros or positive consequences of internalised knowledge(improved worship of Allah and relationship with others) 7. Ask one self questions about one's intentions for acquiring knowledge. Is it to transform the state of being or to just acquire for the sack of it with no benefit for oneself and others

This is one of the most important videos on the Internet, and this is not an over-exaggeration. As Ustadh Hamza stated, there are consequences for the lack of internalization of knowledge that many of us faced or are currently facing. In fact, this is a main criticism which Allah has of the hypocrites and the poets. In Chapter 26, Verse 224-226 of the Quran, Allah says: "And as for the poets-the deviators follow them. Do you not see how they ramble in every style? And how they say what they do not do?" Imam Al-Ghazali also touches upon this topic in two separate quotes which are favorites of mine: 1) "Knowledge without action is a burden, and action without knowledge is misguidance" 2) "...If your aim in seeking knowledge is to compete, show off, outdo your peers, garner attention, and amass the debris of this world, then you are on your way to rendering your religion null and void, destroying yourself..." After this video there should be no more excuse Alhamdulilah! Jazak Allahu Khair for this gem of a video Ustadh Hamza!

This is true, a lot of people claim they have ilm but they don't use it to benifit anyone, then you have people who have little ilm but they try to use it to benifit people. Simply gaining knowledge is not enough you have to share it with the people so they can benefit. Great lecture.

What you are saying is similar to what sheikh Moutassem Al Hameedi was saying in one of his webinars that How you know the soul or have taqwa is by experience. He characterized highest form of knowing as experience like I can't explain what a fruit taste like just from ideas. It would be amazing if you brought the sheikh, he looks like he has lots of hidden gems.

Reminds me of an Ayat 57:16 “Has the time not come for those who have believed that their hearts should become humbly submissive at the remembrance of Allāh and what has come down of the truth? And let them not be like those who were given the Scripture before, and a long period passed over them, so their hearts hardened; and many of them are defiantly disobedient”

I continuously lose my consistency with my prayers and following the deen in the proper way. Most of the time I fall into fulfilling my desires. And it makes me depressed and sad. Sometimes I feel like I am moving away from Allah. These feelings are very terrible. Brother, I am requesting you to pray for me.

I find that devoting a few minutes of my time everyday in self-reflection of the past few hours helps keep me centered and on track. An opportune time to do this is while you make your du'a after the five daily prayers. At the end of the day before retiring to sleep, have another review of how the day went and how to improve oneself. And upon waking up at the start of a new day, quickly go through your notes and priorities again to jumpstart your motivation for the day.

Hamza, I went to University of Manchester and saw you in person there once giving a speech. Technology and Finance are founded from corruption. I'm gently asking, hasn't this realization reached you on your journey yet? I have my own answers but was seeing if you're willing to say what actions do you propose one should take upon this realization? It's OK if you don't know yet but I encourage truth seeking this question.

What a Canadian Psychologist Knows about Israel that Israelis Do Not Jordan Peterson, a Canadian media personality, clinical psychologist, author, and professor emeritus at the University of Toronto, describes himself as a “classic British liberal.” The media often describes him as conservative. Be that as it may, his words to a 3,000 strong audience at the International Convention Center in Jerusalem should not fall on deaf Israeli ears because when he says emphatically, “You have a tremendous moral responsibility,” and “Show the world what the holy city could look like - because we need it,” we should understand that he speaks for billions and the onus really is on us. A couple of weeks ago, at an event hosted by The Daily Wire in Jerusalem, Peterson said, “Everyone looks here to see how you are doing under this tremendous assault of adversarial criticism - as this little tiny people in the middle of no-man’s land - as a cardinal model of the nation state and the city on the hill. You have a tremendous moral responsibility like you have perhaps had for your entire history for reasons that are very difficult to understand.” The problem is that what non-Jews feel about Israel and Israelis, we refuse to admit because while they can simply express how they feel, we have to respond to those emotions. It is a heavy burden to be responsible for the world’s problems. It is perfectly understandable that we refuse to admit it and strive to either deny it or assimilate among the nations. But the nations will clearly not allow us to do either. We have been decrying our fate for centuries; we have written books about it, and we even titled one of them Israel, the Ever-dying People. However, when it comes to doing what we must, to making ourselves “a shining light on a hill,” as Peterson put it, we turn our backs on our mission and blame each other for the hatred turned against us. The obligation we avoid is our obligation to each other, to unite “as one man with one heart” and become the “cardinal model” that Peterson and the rest of the world want to see. They do not need our high-tech industry or our sophisticated weapons. They need our unique, authentic moral system, the one that was established on the basis of love of others. Only if we establish our society in Israel based on this value, we will win the world’s approval. The world is aching for it. Some of the people will ask this from us nicely, the way Peterson articulated it. Others will demand it through violence. Either way, we will know no peace or peace of mind until we provide the world the example of unity and solidarity that we must.
