Yo, this video was a nice breath of fresh air amongst all the serious K-pop songs as of lately. Like, it seems every song is either dark in concept or talks about (or attempts to at least) serious topics where this kind of K-pop is rarely being done. And I get it: it's to appeal to an international audience and to be taken more seriously/leave a "better legacy". I get it. But let me tell you, the main reason I got into K-pop was because of one simple thing: it was FUN. It was just so different from Western music in that it wasn't usually topical, it was barely explicit or sexual, and the songs & artists weren't really trying to spread any kind of political agenda. It was just pure fun and happiness; a kind of escape from the real world that Western entertainment has just completely absorbed itself into these days. The fact that many companies are following suit just to get "Western relevancy" is just depressing to see given the reasons I got into it. So seeing this kind of music from K-pop is ALWAYS welcome in my book. It's different, but different is good; we all like our different things, even in K-pop. You enjoy your music and I'll enjoy mine.

Very Very Very by ioi. I remember seeing a clip of it on a commercial for Mnet, I didn’t know who ioi was back then, but when I heard a large group of girls repeating one of the most overused cutesy words in Kpop, I knew that this was meant to be the ultimate Kpop anthem. It has the same (or at least a similar) chord progression as Gee, the same sporty MV concept that all groups have to go through, and apparently if the original wasn’t deleted, the MV would have an insane amount of views. I confidently argue that Very Very Very is meant to be THE representation of Kpop. Is it the best? Absolutely not! But it has exactly all of the cliches that make Kpop what it is, and that’s what the goal of this video is. Id definitely show Very Very Very in a presentation to introduce new Kpop fans.
