No, it's not a vampire concept lmao. Even though the songs have been different from their usual style for the past three comebacks, they still all tie directly into the original storyline. They're time traveling (the cromer/hourglass controls that) pirates looking for utopia but finding themselves stuck in a dystopia instead, unsure if their alternate universe (hala ateez) selves are there to help or harm them. Watching the movie Inception really helped me tie a lot of this stuff together too. The MV Inception concept is where they were basically dreaming. In Fireworks MV you can notice things like the buildings starting to crumble, and things start to become more dystopian, and the tree burns. In Deja Vu they're still in dreamland but it's basically a dystopia now. They keep trying to get back to the utopia they thought they found in Illusion MV but were mistaken about. There are references in the lyrics of Deja Vu to both Inception (I feel like I've dreamed a dream in a dream) and Illusion (this all being an illusion was referenced multiple times). Also, if you don't wanna go that far into the lore, Seonghwa mentioned at the showcase that the song representation is basically Inception is when they start falling in love with something (a person, a thing, we don't know) and Deja Vu is when they're so madly in love they feel insane for the person/thing. Anyways, the lyrics for Deja Vu are definitely very sexual (especially the rapper verses) and the choreography definitely matches that. And it's Yeosang at the end with the cromer.

I appreciate that the first verses for HJ and Mingi were more calm and melodic. I was also expecting loud but they kept the drive and the intensity, arguably more because it was quieter. And I have been seeing people saying this is a different vibe but I thought that HJ specifically said that this song was to show a different side of them. And they did a good job at that.

This is the end of the Fever arc, so Say My Name chronologically comes next since Fever is a prequel to the Treasure series. Interesting seeing you compare so much of this to SMN considering this leads into it! Also, as for the minimalistic budget I'm pretty sure it's just because this is a double MV comeback like Inception/Thanxx & Wave/Illusion; the other MV hasn't come out yet but I imagine they had to split their funds up between the two.

*I noticed how you were saying that this is very unlikely for an ateez title track. Many people were saying how deja vu is different from what ateez usually does* Maybe it is just me-Deja vu really felt like an ateez song, but with slight variations mainly with the rap verses and the bridge which I love btw(also loved how the vocal line shined throughout). Some people are complaining about them moving away from their usual sound and more towards main stream music but I don't agree with that completely. Ateez and Eden cannot always rely on the same sound and formula over and over again, it will turn out to be tiring. So I think it's great how they are diversifying the direction of their music. Deja vu sounds unfamiliar (and maybe a bit generic to some) but ateez didn't fail to put their own twist to it. It's a really good song. Loved the album too.

Honestly I LOVED that this isn’t a type of song that Ateez has put out yet! I’ve always loved every title track they’ve done ( Answer and Inception will always be my favourites for their dramatic melody and lyrics) but Deja Vu is fresh coming from them, especially given the fact that it’s their first properly intentional sexy concept. They’re expanding their listener demographic and for me, it’s definitely not a bad thing because despite that the song itself still screams ‘Ateez’ to me

So Atiny's had to choose between deja vu and eternal sunshine (which is more upbeat, kinda wave style song) So this song won of course. I fell in love with it the moment I heard it. Also the fever era is the Yeosang era for me. Ever since Inception, he's getting more and morce confident in himself and I just like that, Also he grew bodywise as well ;). Basically he is hot as hell. It's really fun to see his growth in the title tracks, but also in all the songs. I just have a soft spot for him

Treasure and Fever are both of the same pirate concept, so you were a bit off in thinking that they're going for new things now lol. Actually, PD, you are not too far off. The line distribution is REALLY fair and I believe that (based on many ATINY theories) that he is the center of this MV's story. The drone is his, the ending part is his solo screentime, CENTER Yeosang and his whisper before Woo and Seonghwa's "I know you get deja vuuuuuuuuu"

I just love how Ateez can change up their game. I hated Inception at first (school aesthetic is a pet peeve of mine) but with how similar yet different Fireworks and the b-sides sound I came to like Inception. I was literally speechless during my first watch by how different and well Deja Vu sounds and looks. It is so catchy too, whenever I go "da da da ra da oh deja vu" I start dancing as well. It is SO very well put together, it became my favorite on the first listen and I never like a song on the first listen. Also, I think the video was a bit inspired by the movie Matrix. When I first saw San in that long black dress (coat??) with his short hair I was instantly reminded of Neo and his iconic long black coat. The overall futuristic spy theme reminds me of the overall vibes of the movie. It looks like they're also against a computer. The first set might be the white place Neo and Morpheus were in. And deja vus played an important role in the movie as well. Idk, just a hunch.

Something about this still sounds like a modern take on a sea shanty to me. Even though they moved away from the pirates. The "Da da da da da", the horns and the way the melody plays out. Plus the almost anti-drop chorus helps that out a lot.

The way you talked about the first listen for like five minutes and spent a whole twenty minutes just to finish listening at the second time sends so much energy. What I’ve noticed in Inception is that in a set, there’s fire on the ceiling and water on the ground. If I’m correct, Fireworks resembles the fire and Deja Vu the water. Which ties the 3 videos together. That’s my opinion.

Ateez is one of those groups that I can't choose a favourite. You kinda just have to love each song for what it is. But as usual after watching Form of Therapy I find something more to appreciate about the song, the video and the members.

I absolutely adore the end of the mv AND the song!! Omg I really think it's one of my favorite endings? It's just fantastic with the killing(literally he said it himself that he was killing San) move, the rain the thunders, every single one turning crazy with those expressions, the theatrality and intensity of Ateez will always! make them win!! And I love love love the different notes of Jongho and intense and dramatic raps of Mingi and Hongjoong at the end, it's just perfect I would be happy just rewatching the end part!😳

You mentioned dystopian and that reminded me, if you think about how some of the scenes from “fireworks”, it look like post-apocalyptic… I think this ties into their lore. Even though certain concepts/eras are over, the storyline is still there.

it's not a vampire concept although it could really fit! after I read the piece of story for this comeback (on diary version album), the mv made a lot more sense to me and felt more fitting. yeosang appears more because he plays an important role on the storyline, he turns the cromer (hourglass) and ateez go back in time - but without him, he gets stuck there. atinys also are speculating that "take me home" is about yeosang, AND ITS ALL SO FITTING. it really feels like dejavu and take me home are somehow connected, the lyrics say it all (it's also been stated before that take me home would be related to this comeback). always love your reactions and comments

As an Atiny, I was really hyped even before watching this review when I saw how long the video is.. I knew you would appreciate the song and mv they way they should be.. This song indeed gets better the more you listen to it.. I was shocked when I first listened to it because it's way different from other ATEEZ songs.. Also, this reaction made me realize so many points in the mv that I didn't realize how great they were on my own.. This just proves how versatile ATEEZ are and how creative the team behind them is.. What really drew me into ATEEZ from the beginning was that they NEVER do a half ass work.. They don't give a good title track and then trick you with trashy b-sides like some other groups do in a way that you feel they're just making a fool out of you.. Their team takes every single song so seriously and the ideas they put in are just so mind blowing.. KQ knows very well where and how to spend their money on ATEEZ.. Just the perfect combination of talented people with creative producers and a wise company..
