I still madly love how much this song talks about permission. 'I want you to say yes but won't do anything to you until you do'

There was a theory that whoever wins the rock paper scissors game confesses to the girl (in some scenes she’s wearing the same outfit like Jay/jungwon and niki/heeseeung) so first it was Sunghoon at the subway station and pool, he was nervous before in the washroom, but you get to see all of the situations where every member wins the game (sunoo at school with a mask that hides his vampire secret but it is uncovered so he’s sharing his secret with her and open up, jungwon on a rainy/snowy night walk, Jay at the flower shop, jake waiting at his apartment, ni-ki in the car, heeseung riding his motorcycle and going to a rooftop movie, etc.) As a personal theory/explanation I think it might all be parallel universes where we see different situations with who the girl is with, but some events are still the same like a rainy day in jungwon/ni-ki/jay’s situations, or sunoo/heeseung bumping into someone (it was an actor that was a guy), or the flickering lights for Jay/jake - also in the lyrics they say that she is their goddess of their universe. At the end, we see jungwon snap out of this dream (maybe they all get a glimpse of their future? so then all of the members end up choosing rock in hopes of getting Chloe) Smart Ni-ki chose paper, so he won in the end and we see Chloe in his car with the others in the traffic scene. There’s also lots of references to time stopping and reversing (sunghoon when he confessed, Ni-ki at the end, a very short few seconds of some scenes being reversed) and I also think maybe the Butterfly could be a reference to the Butterfly effect and how those little choices in rock paper scissors could make out their possible fates with Chloe. There’s also a chance that Chloe is still gone (going off the concept trailer) and that is why time stops, she never actually heard Sunghoon confess (Romance: Untold fr) and we see Jay hold a candle with a sad look, the lightning bolt reminds me of their orange blood concepts about the fleeting moments of life and cherishing those moments - this could also be why everything looks so dreamy and why there’s so many lens flares.. it’s not reality bc Chloe is a mortal and enhypen are immortals. Theres also a Riverfield (setting related to dark moon) street sign in the choreo shots, meaning they had already arrived by then? Wow I wrote a lot anyways thanks for this reactions I enjoyed it!!

the synths are so crazy! i’m not an enhyphen fan so i came across it by accident but i’m glad i did. These synths are the best i’ve heard in a while

Bills is one of my fav bsides in kpop... and then they released Fatal Trouble which blew me away by how GOOD it is... I saw a theory that made a lot of sense to me. basically the mv starts with sunghoon winning rock paper scissor to get the chance to confess to Chloe and the mv is all the scenarios of how the boys would confess to Chloe, and when we reach the end its not just jungwon seeing the future, but rather all the boys, which we know because when they play rock paper scissors again, they all put rock which is how sunghoon won the last game, except for ni-ki (which we know its niki bc he was the only one with his sleeve rolled up in the beginning) who put paper, thus winning this game and that's why we see him smirking in the last scene with Chloe in his car.

Definitely agree with you about sunoo being a pop star boy. He always do well in whatever concept they do but this one is really right up his alley.

I think it would be fun if Chloe was literally changing their powers. like in the scene with sunoo and the butterflies, she’s actually showing him how to make the butterflies, as a metaphor for her changing him into something more gentle

19:20 This is a sequel to the Concept Cinema. In the cinema, they mentioned escaping to Riverfield and bringing Chloe along, but failed because Chloe is nowhere to be found in the music shop. In this MV, they finally arrived in Riverfield and started living a new life, reminiscing their time with Chloe, hence the "flare" to indicate a 'flashback'. On the 1st chorus with them dancing on the streets, you can see "Riverfield" on the street sign.

I'm glad you gave Jungwon his flowers. He's the most underrated member IMHO even tho he's the leader, he doesn't get enough praise for his unique and stable vocals. It's different for them and they did awesome! ❌⭕💗

it's only Sunoo who didn't meet the girl. Every member has a one on one with the girl. Sunghoon at the lake and subway station. Jungwon walking with her under the umbrella. Jake waited outside the apartment and she finally came. Jay at the flower shop. Ni-ki at the car. Heeseung under the moonlight.

The smile on my face the whole time🤭I can envision a better melody and the production could’ve expanded but the verses and delivery are so nice. Overall it's very cute and vibey.

The train and fireworks scene reminds me of Fatal Trouble mv 😅 and this mv looks like a POV of Chloe with different members... And if you notice they're dancing in the middle of Riverfield... If you remember in Concept Cinema, Jungwon said they should save Chloe and they will go in Riverfield... And thank you for appreciating Jake vocals... He's still underappreciated by many... That's why the producers gave him more lines especially in chorus because they see that Jake's vocals is beautiful and catchy to listen...

so they said earlier Chloe is us engenes, they all in love with her and thankful to have her as sunghoon said in his lines. during the scene of sunghoon and her in the train station, he stopped the time and confessed to her that he liked her (she didn't hear it tho since the time was stopped that's why it's "untold") but in my theory the beginning of the music video, them playing rock-paper-sce was to decide who will get the chance to confess his love for her that's why the guys were slightly sad about not winning and also the fact sunghhon seems stressed the whole mv nervous to tell her his feelings. but still in the end it all seemed like jungwon was daydreaming and all that was just in his head and they didn't play the game to decide yet (also that's why imo the whole mv looks so dreamy) oh and also with jake, at first i thought it's that he control the lights but then i thought that maybe cause Chloe was walking to him, that's why the lights went on with every step of her. and the whole mv she went to a date with each member jungwon - walk under the rains which he then turned them into snow for her heeseung - motorcycle ride shown at first and watching the moon jay - at the flower shop jake - at home sunghoon - train station and in the beginning she was sitting there when he was in the pool sunoo - at school and the butterflies trick for her ni-ki - the car ride that was my theory sorry it's lengthy 😭, but i really enjoyed your reaction and i like how you take in all the small details. i appreciate you and hope u have a great day

yayyyy i'm so happy i was waiting for your reaction!!! i think xo is so refreshing and i like it way more than sweet venom, even though both songs are more on the "bright" side than their other title tracks. i got to admit i was a little worried at first because i thought it was a little too repetitive but i got used to it now and i think it's very catchy. and the concept suits them A LOT, it's one of my favorites. i suggest everyone to go and listen to the full album, it's really impressive and full of great songs too. romance : untold album of the year!!!!

I've been watching some of your vids and I enjoyed your analysis here as well. To answer your question, I like it very much! It's my happy pill atm. My theory is that Chloe's already dead and this is just how the vampires are coping. We only got to know her through their POV, but we have yet to see her outside of a flashback or in the case of XO, their daydreams. My guess is if only Chloe had told them yes, she could've been saved and be with them, but we'll have to see on another concept trailer/film or so what actually happened. In Romance : Untold's Concept Film, they promised that they'll bring Chloe to Riverfield, but it looks in the MV only they're the ones who made it there without her. If you look closely at the butterfly part with Sunoo, there's actually one small bat flying amongst the butterflies.
