Jackson is such an inspiring artist, not only musically but also as a creative person. He is the one who comes up with the mv ideas. He said in his recent live that he recorded the idea of the mv in his apartment while being quarantined. But also huge credits to his directors, they are excellent!

Jackson as he currently is, is criminally underrated. In his own words he wanted folks to see his growth and trajectory with each subsequent release and tbh I think he’s achieved that. I have been here since papillon and his growth in each release is clear. I love love love 100 ways and it’s his best thus far. Given his progress I am certain it’s not his limit. I hope he keeps working with Daniel cloud campos. His artistic vision works very well with Jackson’s.

I love they way you said 'criminally underrated' XD for real, 100 ways is a bop! It's different and fresh. Also Jackson as a person, he is a humble and friendly one which make everyone will love him. He trying to be his self, which doesn' try to follow what hype these days, he create his own color! He doesn't feel enough, and always tryin' harder. He is freakin' underrated!

Jackson has actually said before that even though he earns a lot, most of it doesn't go to him because he pours a big chunk of his profits into MVs, Team Wang staff, music production etc. So he really doesn't mind spending a lot on MVs as long as the end result is to his satisfaction

So, here's what I think is going on: 4 loyalists meet at the grave of their fallen military general or leader, Jackson. They perform a ritual to resurrect him from the grave. They equip him with enchanted armor to give him strength to perform an even harder ritual. As they pass through the forest, their combined spiritual energies literally cuts down trees. They reach their final destination, & begin the final ritual. This ritual is harder, and requires sacrifice, so the 4 loyalists give their.lives for Jackson to complete the ritual, & the woman is resurrected. (I've heard some say that this is based on an ancient Chinese love story where the man never got to confess his feelings to the woman, so he brings her back just to ask her of she felt the same.) Jackson and his betrothed dance together, but only for a short time, as the ritual's power is fading. Finally, they embrace each other, and Jackson ends the ritual, and they descend into the afterlife, together...

Both 100 Ways and Bullet to the heart are directed by Daniel "Cloud" Campos the director of P!AtD's Emperor's New Clothes and This is Gospel. You can really notice his style through Jackson's MVs as well. And it's cool. The quality is off the roof, it's so engaging I've been rewatching it for since the day it was out... One of Jackson's best features is his passion and the way he naturally wears his heart on his sleeve. It makes his acting even more believable, that it doesn't even feel like acting, just like the way he performed in Oxygen and Bullet to the Heart. In both mv's he's in emotional turmoil and you can tell he feels everything he put into the songs, especially at the end of Oxygen when he cries. I hope one day Jackson stars in a short film or a longer drama, perhaps even a trailer mv for one of his albums just as GOT7 did for their Flight Log: Trilogy stories. So far my favorite Jackson mv's are this one, BTTH and Oxygen. Their stories are just so deep and you can see how Jackson allows himself to be vulnerable and show us his inner most thoughts. In conclusion, I am so proud of Jackson Wang and his team. His art always connects with us so deeply and I am thankful he shares it with us. Thank you PD for the awesome review! No matter what you say, your feedback helps the boys grow.

You notice in the beginning it's dark, the Kinjas (Dancers), they're doing the ritual summoning of Jackson Wang bringing him back from the dead. It's dark, noticed the "light" turns on referencing that it's now daylight/light because he is alive again. Then it goes to dark after they dance and that transition from light to dark happens because he is in a dark place searching for his lover. He then sees the Tree where her Grave is, the Tree of Life. So they do more ritual summoning and when the soldiers fall back. They are basically giving up their lives so that Jackson can bring back the love of his life to be with her one last time before he put them in a grave together, so they can lay together in eternity. Hence the lighting goes from light to dark once he does his hand motion to put them in the grave. This video is sooo amazing!! The visual effects on this, the Choreography, the camera, the lighting, the emotion you can see in the soldiers face how they are so serious, then the multiple emotions you can see in Jackson how he is up and ready for battle and he will stop at nothing to find her (Hence them dressing him up). And once he sees her his facial expression changes intense to curiosity. Her never taking his eyes of him and him doing the same. Sooooo many things to look at!!! It's amazing!!! Also...did anyone notice the tree fell in the background when they did the transition??? 😁

What I admire the most in this MV is the work of the camera. The subtle movement that follow or compliment the dancing. So creative!

Absolutely agree with your review of this video as well as the song. I would love to see Jackson finally break down the walls of prejudice within the music world and become a global star! If he doesn't at least get a Grammy nomination for this song I will know there is still a huge problem within the that particular "academy" of performers. GO JACKSON GO!!!

That's exactly what I felt when it ended. I was like damn that is way too short. It leaves you wanting more. It's that good. You just have so many theories for the story in your head. Great job on the sound, lyrics, choreography and mv as well. I sure will have this on repeat for a long time.

As a wuxia/zanxia (tv and film) fan this MV feels so familiar - it carries so many visual elements from those genres, and the colour palette in the scenes with the girl surrounded by maple leaves are so redolent of Ang Lee and Yimou Zhang films. I love how the handwork not only serves the narrative (ie casting spells ) but as you pointed out, also becomes the cue for light and scenery changes. I think the MV is brilliant and adds so much to the meaning of the song.

I watched it last night and when I was watching it, I kind of kept on getting goose bumps especially when the chorus would come in. I have to give a massive round of applause to the dancers because they were absolutely fantastic. The music video was beautifully shot and you felt like you were watching a movie.

What I love about the song and Jackson's voice here is that it's very much a pop song you would have heard circa 1983-86. His voice echoes that of Sting back in the day when he was in The Police with "Every Breath You Take" or the guys in Tears for Fears in "Everybody Wants To Rule The World", it has that quality.

To be honest, his song is totally incredible, and the MV is the most original thing I never seen. At first, I was really skeptical, because I used to not really like Jackson solo tracks, but now, I am totally in love, I will keep myself tuned. Bravo to Jackson and his director!!!
