55 years old and I have seen some of the best bands since the 80s and I can tell you that these ladies are the best live show I have ever seen. They play so many different genre that they give you everything you want. They are so entertaining and they interact with each other and the crowd all the time. If you ever see them huddle around the drummer, they are making faces at each other trying to make each other laugh or goof up. They are so emotionally invested you can feel the music. Best band in the world!

I'm 59...I've followed them for over 2 years. I've been hesitant to make any "outrageous" proclamations. But after seeing them in Detroit last May...I have to shout it from the housetops...They are simply the finest pure rock & roll band on the planet and in my top 3 of all time ! There...I finally admitted it, so I can skip the obligatory 12 step program ! ♥️🤯

From first hand experience, I can confirm that Band Maid is one of the rare artists that actually outperform their studio takes. Band Maid understands the language barrier, which explains why this chorus is: “Yeah yeah yeah yeah, La la la la la la la, woah ooh oh ooh oh ooh oh, La la la la la la la.” The Maids adore their fans. And we love them right back.

For me..Kanami Tono, the lead guitarist is the most impressive musician of 21st Century. Pure genius as a composer and true Rock n’ Roll Star on stage. One of a Kind. She is the Special One 🔥🤘❤️

I'd put her behind only Hendrix on my all time list! MISA I'd actually put #1 for bassists! Akane def top 10 maybe 5 drummers. Just SO much talent! That's without even mentioning Saiki or Miku who are both very talented as well. ♥ these girls!

Maybe a bit exaggerated. MISA, Kanami and Akane are all three top notch musicians. Yes. World class? Yes! But, there is so much talent on this planet. That they should compete on being best or nearly best over the centuries? Nope. They are not. BAND-MAID though is probably one of the best hard rock bands today. All this said MISA and Akane are two of my favorites, they both play very unconventional. Not many bassist do so much work as MISA, she is all over the fret board doing crazy stuff constantly during the song. And Akane has a special style. She do not simple hold the beat and make som fills now and then. She is called a gorilla because of her moving arms. She is doing stuff all over the drum sett, small excursion with some seemingly random fills that are perfect. Never seen that elsewhere. Sometimes she do like waves of normal fills and very fast fills. I do not know where she got that idea, but it sounds cool and looks cool.

This was the 21nd song of a 22 song performance or "Serving" as Band-Maid calls them! The next logical destination would be the next song which is "Domination"! "Play was originally a instrumental song, but the singer liked it so much she asked for lyrics to be added so she could be a part of the fun! Did you notice Saiki, the lead singer, trying to mess with the Akane's, the drummer, timing and ended up giggling instead, so fun!

Actually, it was 21 of 23. The final two songs after Play were Domination and Endless Story, which I'd also recommend. Especially, the Domination live video, because it is literally the continuation of Play.

They recently finished off their ten year tour at the Yokohama Arena. A three and a half hour concert that somehow managed to cover so much. They can command an arena like a small theatre. They used the walkways around the arena and brought everybody into the concert. The music and their personalities make them simply one of the most entertaining bands around.

And to think they play at this level for 2+ hour sets! I saw them four times in October, they were wild! I wouldn't worry too much about the lyrics on this one. It was originally written as an instrumental but Saiki the lead singer liked it and wanted in, so Miku quickly wrote lyrics for it. They have no profound meaning, the whole song is just fun!

They play an average of 22 or 23 songs per concert. So they play an instrumental song and give the vocals a break in the middle. There have a few of those instrumentals, but since you guys seem to like guitar so much, so I recommend "Onset", which is popular among us Band-Maid fans (Maidiacs) from the official video. 🎸🤘

Thanks for your comments, and viewing, Band-Maid Live. In regards to the guitar solo not being as long. Band-Maid, with a few exceptions, keeps their solos short with the idea of keeping the audience coming back for more. As you may have noticed they try to orientate their arrangement so each member has a time to shine, again with a few exceptions. Their focus, as a band, is on what is best for each song.

I saw them twice last May, at Sonic Temple and at Detroit's St. Andrews Hall. They self produce their studio recordings and do their own backing tracks for their live performances. If you hear orchestra or keyboards in the backing track, it's usually Kanami's work, although Misa and Akane also make additions to the MIDI tracks. Band-Maid is as professional as any show business act performing today. They add and delete songs from their setlist night after night. They have over 100 songs in their repertoire and they know them all well enough that they can rehearse a "new" song during the afternoon pre show rehearsal/sound check and it will be nailed during the show. They played "Unfair Game" at Detroit: the one performance during the tour. During their "Okyu-ji's" Band-Maid keeps the audience engaged from beginning to end; everyone leaves with a smile on their face. Band-Maid puts on a show like no other and they know EXACTLY what they are doing. After I post this comment I will be watching the livestream replay of their Yokohama Arena tour final: a well paced three and a half hour show brimming with energy throughout. "Play" is no. 4 on the setlist. The concert discs will be released this Spring.

Welcome aboard, Phil & Sam. You are embarking on (along with many others - over 190 million YT views plus over 40 million reactor plays!) an awesome, progressive, hard-rock journey with 5 incredible women. Here's my intro blurb for those who may be new to Band-Maid: BAND-MAID’s songs and sound beat with the heart and soul of all rockers. But you’ll also hear heavy influences of Prog, Punk, Metal and Pop, with nice touches of Blues, Jazz, Funk and Grunge. Sometimes they use multiple genres within the same song. Their Composition, Execution, Joy of Playing, Consistency (130+ songs), Uniqueness, Charisma, Charm and, oh yeah, Cuteness factor, position them as becoming the hard rock Beatles of our time! In other words, they’re destined for mega-stardom. Each member's personalities are super interesting and their musicianship among the best. Their writing, arrangements and overall sound, especially guitar tones and drums, are kick-ass! Having seen them LIVE, I can honestly say their performance, sound, stage appearance, and band synergy is off-the-rails spectacular! Band-Maid is the only band in decades where I love nearly EVERY song they’ve done. I have over 70 favorites! "Thrill" (2014) is a great place to start: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/i8qjaspkspOYnIU.html Their songs from albums Unleash, Unseen World, Conqueror, World Domination, Just Bring It, Brand New Maid, and New Beginning drive even more - Shambles, Warning, No God, Different, Black Hole, Rinne, Blooming, Moratorium, Domination, Clang, Dice, Spirit, Don’t You Tell Me, Turn Me On, Fate, Play, Hide-And-Seek, Secret My Lips, Puzzle, Choose Me, I Can’t Live Without You, and on and on. But don’t miss out on their powerful, beautifully written, mid-tempo songs like Daydreaming, About Us, Memorable, Anemone, Endless Story, PAGE, At The Drop Of A Hat, Mirage and Smile... or more punky like After Life, Don’t Let Me Down and Screaming… or funky like Bubble… or bluesy like Manners and The Dragon Cries… or poppy like Start Over… or a bit jazzy like Wonderland… or progressive like No God, Giovanni, and Black Hole… or cultural like the Band-Maiko series… or instrumentals like From Now On, Don’t Be Long, Onset, Without Holding Back and Going Nuts… or their many acoustic versions like Catharsis and Sayonakidori... and last but not least, their Anime hits (AniMaid) like Sense, Glory and Unleash!!!!! (from their own Anime MV (series?)): kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bbJykqiBuJqceHk.html) And many songs are represented with over 50 well produced music videos. kzfaq.info Most performances should be experienced from their LIVE audience & online OKYU-JI concerts:  ONLINE OKYU-JI (Feb. 11, 2021) “No God” kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pKeUitF6t9CrkZ8.html  Tokyo's LINE CUBE SHIBUYA (February 14, 2020) “Domination” kzfaq.info/get/bejne/h8iphKZ705zWiZs.html  ZEPP 2018 “Real Existence” kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Y9eBoa56sbiZpWQ.html  Shinkiba Studio Coast 2017 and other full concerts are on bandmaidprime.tokyo, bili, and official Band-Maid’s DVD/BD/CD.  “P and D⁴” 30+ Photo Collage videos at www.youtube.com/@PinD2/videos And some of the better quality fan videos are excellent. Here’s two of what it’s like to see Band-Maid LIVE at an intimate venue:  Shot by Pat McKee from their 2023 US tour concert in Detroit: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/es2oiJB-u9DYkWQ.html  See the Maids 2023 Rockville Festival’s short-set perfection performance: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rNCKnrGW1K3RmJc.html If you like Band-Maid, make sure to support them by purchasing some concert tickets, CD, DVD/BD & Merch, etc. bandmaid.tokyo Like most Band-Maid songs, I like them from the get-go but really start to appreciate them after more hearings and seeing their LIVE videos. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Before Yesterday, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days and Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid. For fun, check out an awesome, little known "Mega Band-Maid Mix" by DJ Ray of some of their earlier stuff: facebook.com/djrayboston/videos/1004709499579009 Band-Maid Members: Saiki Atsumi (Sy-i-Key or Psyche) “StarQueen" - Lead vocals, arrangements and melodies. At 29 and the youngest, “Sensei” (Teacher) as band members call her, has the last word on many musical decisions. High-heels or sneakers, Sai-chan’s smile melts away her sometimes perceived, coldish persona. Saiki’s powerhouse performances, charisma, and voice focus the experience that’s driven her to the top echelon of hard rock frontwomen... or frontmen! Miku Kobato (Me-Ku) "Small Pigeon" - Rhythm guitar, vocals, lyricist, 32 years old. “Koba”, as Saiki calls her, is the Band founder and a firecracker MC & PR SpokesPigeon, po! Her “Magic Spell Time” charm and energy ignite the room. Kuruppo! No, no, no… KURUPPO!! Kanami Tono (Ka-Na-Me) “Princess” - Lead guitar, keyboards, 32 years old, is a prolific writer of most Band-Maid material. Kanami (translates “Song Wave”) is a possessed riff-slayer who’s so damn adorable it hurts. The only thing you want from Mincho is more! Akane Hirose (A-Ka-Nay) "Gorilla" - Drums, 33 years old, band energizer & co-clown with MISA. Achi’s talents include massive consumption of noodles and bananas, of course, (even during performance!) while revolutionizing rock drumming with relentless drive, dynamics and the kick. This “DrumZilla” is the Party! MISA (Me-Sa) "Barefoot Assassin" - Bass, 31 years old. An alluring free spirit driving her 5-string to rapturous low-ends while pulling off surprising counter leads with Kanami, off-stage MISA is the band’s goofball ballerina. Sometimes seen as the Mysterious One because she lets her instrument do the talking, the Assassin literally kills it… every note... uniting Band-Maid’s world-class rhythm section. A slug of JB, a slight grin, and let the slappin’ begin… MISA! MISA! MISA! Maidiacs (Maid-e-acts) - Band-Maid’s crazed yet supportive, knowledgeable and loyal Super Fans. [BAND-MAID NEWS]  BAND-MAID PRIME - Special Video Distribution Website. Along with nearly 50 great play-through’s by each member, concerts and skits, Band-Maid management / label(s) have included the Acoustic Christmas 2021, ZEPP 2018 and Shinkiba Studio Coast 2017 concerts! Fans can now see more than 50 great live performances with awesome audio, etc. like Fate, I Can't Live Without You and the great MISA / Kanami exchange in Don't You Tell Me. And so many great live fancams to watch! Their playing and antics were as fresh and fun to experience from first show to last. BRAVO Band-Maid!!!!! The thing that makes Band Maid truly unique is that each one of the maids is absolutely insanely talented, like some of the best musicians of the 21st century...but none of them try to take the spotlight over each other. Each of them are total and absolute badasses in their roles within the band. And none of them have a typical "rock star ego" about them....they are all just so humble about it! The drummer, Akane, once said it best about what makes Band Maid so effective: "We all decided to make this kind of music together. If one of us suddenly decided to do something else, it wouldn't work." And thank GOD that they all agree!!!

There's this thing called google....look them up....and as far as the guitar solo if you had the ability to hear it with Kanami and Misa going back and forth with Akane throwing in a barrage of triplets on the bass drum was incredible!!!!!!!

Holy Crap I got off work at 7 am this morning, I found your video from two days ago and have not stopped, it is now 5:04 pm and I'm 9 months in. I can't get enough! I have watched 9 months' worth of your library in 10 hours. I have video suggestions but I will keep them to myself because I know your list of requests is very long so I don't want to waste my time even trying to make suggestions because it may be months before you get to them so I'll just continue to watch and hope some of my ideas are already on your list from other viewers.

Have you not heard The Warning yet?...they will surprise you... Three sisters from Monterrey, MX. The band started in 2012. They became The Warning in 2013. Today they are Dany, a 23-year-old guitarist, Pau, a 21-year-old drummer, and Ale, a 19-year-old bassist. In 2022, they performed over 100 concerts across North and South America opening for Foo Fighters, Halestorm, Pretty Reckless, Three Days Grace and Guns 'n Roses. In 2023 they played 75 shows in thirteen countries, opened for Muse nine times, opened for Guns and Roses and played at the MTV VMAs. In 2024 they will play at Shiprock, Tecate P’al Norte Festival in Monterrey, Vive Latino festival in Mexico City, European tour, Mad Cool festival in Madrid and the Wacken Open Air festival in Germany. They are classically trained pianists; Dany and Ale have played sax in the past. All three sing lead and background vocals; Dany is the lead singer. They were inspired by the video game Rock Band and two of their songs are available on Rock Band IV. They were on the Ellen Show in 2015. They are completely bilingual as they attended a bilingual Catholic school in Monterrey, the Liceo de Monterrey. They all subsequently graduated high school through homeschooling. They attended the Berklee College of Music summer program in Boston in 2015. They started out as a cover band; the cover of Enter Sandman launched his career. They now have 49 original songs on an EP, three albums, two singles and two unreleased songs performed. No bad songs. Their most recent single, More, came out on May 12. At their concert in Guadalajara they debuted two new unreleased songs. They have a rich collection of live videos, music videos, and lyric videos on their channel. There are also vlogs and individual performances. His most legendary concerts with professionally filmed video are: - Monterrey High School 2015 - TEDx at the University of Nevada Reno 2017 - Dakota Bar 2018 - Lunario 2018 - Didi Forum 2019 - Whiskey a Go Go 2019 and 2020 - Quarantine Concert 2020 - Teatro Metropolitan CDMX (4K and HD audio) 2022 - Private show in UK (acoustic and electric, now public) 2023 When they are not acting, they are humble and down-to-earth people. Dany is silly and affectionate, Pau speaks with passion like a machine gun and Ale is introverted and a perfectionist. When you fall down the Warning rabbit hole, you can't go back!!

If you really want to see guitar work, and bass work, and drum work, react to the live official video of Onset (that's if you haven't already reacted to it), an instrumental that is one of the finest I have ever heard after following rock for over 60 years. A vital, technical and complex composition that is performed to the nth degree. Another amazing instrumental is From Now On, which is a music video at this point. I'm not sure if they did a live official version, but I haven't seen one. This song is another complex story/composition from the Mozart-like mind of Kanami Tono. She tells a story, but its the instruments doing the singing. It is truly epic............and I mean epic in the area of Don Wilson and The Ventures and The Shadows from England in the early 1960's. Stellar musicianship as always, but on a whole different level as Onset. Your jaw will drop at the first riff and stay dropped until the close of the song. I think the only way you could check the live performance of FNO is to search the song being played at live shows on tour. I've seen BM 3 times and they have played Onset, Play and From Now On each time, so you should be able to find a clip. Given your experience in sound, you will be pleased. You would have chosen...........wisely, lol.

And yes, Play started out as an instrumental for Saiki's pee break, but she asked Miku to come up with some lyrics and Miku said "Hold my beer and give me 20 minutes", lol. The one thing I wish is that they had stayed with the callouts in live performances on tour in Japanese, as every BM fan on the planet would know how to respond. Just watching your faces told the whole story without you two having to speak, lol. And Saiki has become one of the top 3 frontwomen out there today in rock.

A little history, in the 60's the western rock bands began touring Japan. They sang in English, so why shouldn't a Japanese band on tour in the US sing in Japanese. The lyrics for all of their songs are in the web, all you have to do is Search.

The song where Band-Maid says "Let's Go (it's showtime)" would be called "Different". (Heck, you even keep mentioning the word Different so many times 😂). So sorry, wrong song to hear those words. Maybe you should check that song out.... hmmm..... Oh, this song is like the 22nd song out of the 24th song of this concert, which makes the energy levels kind of insane really. Anyway, if you want to check song #23/24, it would be their Original Live Video for Domination. Oh you'll get your solos there alright, yes sir. Even though it was almost the end of the concert, the whole performance of that song was still pretty epic. Really recommend you check that video out as a follow-up to this song.

These girls are great and a joy to watch. If you wanna get a big smile on your faces, from start to finish, give JUNNA a listen to. A girl drummer from Japan, try watching her cover Through the Fire and Flames by dragonforce.....truly fun to watch and Idk what is more impressive, her skill or her enthusiasm. Kinda wish Junna would of been in BandMaid, but not sure what she's doing now.
@lurkmerchant

Junna would shine more in other bands, not Band-Maid. Akane has the style and sound Band-Maid need, playful and creative, the kind of drumming that interplays with bandmates and dance around their music. I don't like Junna's drumming as much, but she is one of the bests in Japan for sure.

Band-Maid is better experienced live. Sounds better live - no matter how many times you see them live, there are still so many favourites of yours not included in the setlist, or they play same songs with whole different intro or expand mid-section. Or devuting a new song - there are always great surprises that only live goers can experience. Fans know that and that's part of the reason that they bring so many repeaters to their shows following them around everywhere they perform during their tour. We want every dvd of every single Band-Maid lives, IF possible - fancams are not really allowed in Japan😢 but fans who went to the shows share the setlist and leave rest of the maidiac community all jealous. Lyrics? Half the times I don't get what they're saying in my native language (and theirs) unless it's a slow ballad.

If you're into hard rock Band-Maid is phenomenal! I'm a metalhead so Lovebites is more my thang. If u like metal whatsoever, you should check out LOVEBITES, if you're still exploring Japan. M&M are two of the best to ever wield the axe. See for yourself...any recent live video on their YT channel. Would lean towards Judgement Day to get a baseline. They are doing a World Tour next year...thought it would never happen. Happy New Year! 🤘
