As a reminder to everyone who might need it: they’re many different forms of love and to show it and all of them are valid. Whether you’re very affectionate with your siblings or tend to annoy them and be rather mean doesn’t devalue what you might feel for them. My sister and I have always been very distant with me being regarded as the annoying 6 years younger brother. We often ended up arguing due to very different personalities and only ever saw and talked during holidays but me personally, I still felt love towards her regardless the same way I know she did as she at first always asked my parents about me when she first moved out. Sadly, she died two days before Christmas and everyone is kind of shocked by how unfazed I am and assumes, it’s simply because we weren’t close. But it’s really just my personality - I only need like 15min of mourning before accepting it as a fact I can’t change. However, I also keep thinking about her, just not in a blubbering mess of tears but by thinking about how to settle her affairs and relieving fondly all the childhood memories we shared. So believe me when I say, it’s okay to feel lots of love towards somebody as well as have few for them and still value them. It’s okay to very openly show that love or not just as it’s okay to not feel love to somebody at all. Feelings are complicated and fragile and nobody is entitled to feel a certain way nor to be able to explain their feelings. You can care about somebody without loving them and it’s also okay, if you have reasons why you might not love somebody who loves you though. Sending out tight hugs to anyone who might need it. :] And Happy New Years!!
