LCoB is one of my favourites as well - its Brilliant!

I agree with you,seeing the characters of previous books together in this one makes this an excellent novel. Great moments in the book. My two favorites: Mr Crawley response to Mrs Proudie’s attacks and the meeting at the park between Lily and Crosbie. I started the pallisters series. Read the first book and loved it. One of the characters of the basershire series is part of the story. He is Plantagenet Pallister. The book has some elements of politics and the story of three very different women.I think you will definitely like it. I hope you start the series this year so I can watch your videos as I make my way with the books :) Thank you for making these videos. I loved geeking out about these books.

TLCoB - A masterpiece indeed. I particularly agree with your admiration of the portrayal of Josiah Crawley's mental state - in modern parlance, one would probably call it a breakdown. Trollope takes the reader deeply into Crawley's mind and it really is a very dark place - unexpectedly so and quite unlike anything in the preceding novels. Such a fascinating, deep and troubling character study. Grace Crawley is my second-favourite of the Barchester heroines after Lucy Robarts - her heroic showdown with the archdeacon is a highlight of the cycle. Desperately following your aim of avoiding spoilers, I also love the contrast of Mrs Proudie and Mr Harding - you know what I mean without having to spell it out! I'd have happily done without the saga of the painting, however!

Barsetshire Week has been so lovely! Your enthusiasm has got me trying to read The Warden again (the first time I was unsuccessful) and this time I’m actually enjoying it a lot more.( I’m halfway through it right now) 😄 I did read Doctor Thorne last year and loved it but I’m planning on making my way through the six books in sequence this time.I really want to try the Palliser novels when I finish Barsetshire, especially since I’ve seen a lot of people have been doing a read along for Can You Forgive Her and I’ve heard some intriguing reviews. By the way, your video for The Small House at Allington was my absolute favorite for Barsetshire Week, especially the part where you were getting so enthusiastic about the characters that you had to actually stop and take a breath and collect yourself. Your love of books is palpable😁 📚💕

I just finished the LCoB today! I had to go an search for your Barsetshire videos in celebration, haha! I wonder now that you've also read the Palliser series, which one you preferred. I have the Pallisers patiently waiting for me on my TBR shelf. :) I can't tell which was my favorite character in the series, but I do love Trollope's young women. Lily Dale's wit made me laugh a few times. I think I'm pretty satisfied with how everything ended.

I just binge watched all but the first video of the series and wow, I can’t wait to get started on these! I’m in a peculiar reading slump at present and am struggling to concentrate so a shorter book like The Warden sounds perfect. I love how you had a bookgasm about The Small House at Allington too, but I will read them in order, as you suggest. I truly over watching these and thank you for putting this series together 👏👍👏

I've now reached the last chronicle of barest in the barsetshire series. This series has been amazing. Would you consider doing a goodreads read along for the Palliser series as you have with Anthony Powell's novels.

Katie based on knowing your views on the events of Small House, I am now very worried that I know exactly what you were worried might happen in LCOB that didn't, oh dear.

The man whom Grace Crawley loves is the son of Archdeacon Grantley, and the solution to the mystery is with Eleanor Arabin. The relationship between Crawley and Arabin is so interesting and complicated. And the story Trollope told is that he was once at his club and overheard one man say to another that he was tired of Mrs. Proudie, and that he turned around to them and said he'd go home and kill her. So the part about understanding her better actually grew out of that resolution of his. I love this book. But I do wish Lily Dale had changed her mind.
