In this short video capture, the final TransPennine Express Class 68 on the south route from Cleethorpes to Liverpool Lime Street is seen at Edale on the Hope Valley Line in the Peak District speeding towards Manchester with 68032 Destroyer doing the honours.
In December last year, the 68s were introduced on the south route from Cleethorpes to Liverpool Lime Street to run alongside TPEs Class 185, having due to continuous reliability issues with the Mk5 coaches. With only managing to get one set running a day 'if that with a lot of the time having a 185 take the sets service' Sadly, TPE recently made the decision to withdraw the 68s from south route services and revert to all Class 185 services keeping the 68s back on the north routes only primarily on services to Scarborough from York, Manchester Piccadilly or Victoria & Liverpool Lime Street.

Overall it's a big shame the 68s services on the south route were not a success but it was great to see the return of loco hauled services from time to time around my local area, even if it wasn't for long.
