Hello Kate! Nice to see you again today. I have hair like yours - originally VERY short, now somewhat longer and shaggy. When I go for a cut, she asks how much and I say "anything over 1/2" has got to go!" So next haircut will definitely be worth the while. I'm loving the content, Kate. However you seem so sad some days. I suppose you are no more or no less alone than a lot of us. But if we use our time constructively, yes, we'll make it through this. Today I made Biscuits (the US kind; much like a non-sweetened Scone) so I'll share them with butter and jam. I wish I could keep some hens, but where I live it is forbidden. Such a silly rule! I haven't been out my door since I restocked our pantry on 3/31. My plan is to not go out again except to water the plants if they need it, until 4/30. At which time I'll go back to the dreaded grocery store.

The social distancing is hard for people, but we also have to be grateful that we're not being bombed, we're not being gassed, our homes are standing, the food is still being grown, and we have heroes working to make lives better for everyone-nurses, doctors, cleaners, aides, grocery workers, delivery people, refuse collectors, etc. etc...you-tubers like you-podcasters, news people, so many that we don't realize making our lives more enlightened and enriched. In the second world war, the Brits sent their kids to the country to protect them, often never seeing them again because they're died from bombing. This era will become a turning point in our histories....many sad stories, but a lot of it will be for the better. Already. Mother Nature is taking a deeper breath as air pollution decreases. And Kate, if these daily videos become too much, take a break.....we will all be here.

I sowed a row of carrots and beets today in one of my raised table beds on my apartment balcony. I also sowed half of the other table with wildflowers. I also got 4 fabric pots planted with 2 pepper plants and 3 determinate tomatoes. I got another box of lettuce sowed in a cat litter box made from recycled paper. Don't worry, no cats used it for their bathroom. LOL! I also got basil started and one determinate tomato plant from seed. I'm looking forward to seeing what my little apartment gardening experiment will go this summer. Gotta get a bunch of herbs soon too. Glad you have one colony of bees still thriving. That's great! I've spent about $50 over the last 30 years on electric razors to cut my hair. I keep it shaved. Talk about saving money! The blue eggs look amazing. I'd love to have hens but two kitties will have to do. I was out today but had a mask on the whole time. Stayed away from people and finished my errands quickly. Home and staying there for another 7 days. Have a good evening Kate and hugs to the kitties! Please send some biscuits my way! Hehehehe....

Hello from Kentucky, USA. I really enjoy your videos. I hope to put in a little garden in my backyard, but it is too rainy here right now. We get some sun for a couple hours every few days but then comes the rain. The birds think my side yard is a bird bath. Ha Ha They do love it. Many of the flowers that were planted last year are blooming now, at least the ones that weren't knocked down from the storms. But they are truly beautiful when the sun shines on them. Well, thanks again for your videos. They do lift my spirits, as I am here alone also. By the way, I do like your hair. :)

Hello Kate, I am happy every day when there is a new video of you. We definitely have one thing in common. I also work on many projects at the same time and switch from paper to fabric, to wool, reading and in between my cat. I also love Sherlock (BBC and Elementary). Hello, Kate. I'm joining very late today. Plenty of room on the lime green sofa at this hour. It's 11:16pm on the east coast of th U.S. Busy day . Getting fabric ready to sew masks for my family tomorrow. I'll sew until they're all done, then mail them out on Tuesday. Three to California,two to Chicago, two to Texas, two to Ohio, four to Florida and three to Pennsylvania. I I so enjoy visiting with you. Seems like we've known each other for years rather than two months. If love to have a garden, but I have so many trees ( shade) , so many squirrels, and ...deer! The last time I tried planting anything it ended up being a salad bar! Do take care of yourself, friend. And please keep a place for me on the lime green sofa, a spot in the sun if possible, please. I'll bring some lemon bars when I come. Enough for everyone of course!

Made chili (with beans), danced around to the Dooby Brothers (Listen to The Music and China Grove) and Brian Auger's "Compared to What" etc etc. while straightening my dresser drawers, and am now trying to sew a mask following a youtube video. I had a weak moment today, so I've brought a beer, pizza and frozen greek raspberry yogurt. I made my mom and myself masks today so I can go grocery shopping more safely. Never felt unsafe in my life! Now I'm concerned for two of my children that work in grocery store- one of them bring Walmart. You are a blessing Kate! Our parents went through much worse in the war we are just being asked to have a "quiet night in". Porridge episode. Even if it goes on a lot longer we are all doing our bit.

Hi Kate, Even though you are tired you look better today. I have been concerned about you for the last week. Several of the lady’s on the green sofa have mentioned their concerned. It is so comfortable on the green sofa sharing stories about when we had young children and the good times we all had. My children were always interested I my hobbies and handwork. It is so nice of you to share this green sofa for us ladies. We like it when you can come down and share some of your stories. We had a nice cup of tea a little while ago. It always hits the spot. I've been really down for a couple of days but then I found that the local hospital to me need laundry bags sewing for the nurses to wash their scrubs in. Made me feel so much better to be doing something useful. Might help others too.

I so enjoy all your videos especially now with this horrible world going on. I don't watch any of the news on the TV or listen to the radio. My husband "tries" to keep me informed as to what is going on, but I turn a deaf ear to all that. I take the ostridge approach to upsetting things and to change also. Always did, even as a kid. I live in the country and was outside yesterday for 3 hours raking any lawn I could find that has appeared as the snow is melting and managed to get two flower beds raked off also. Keeping my hands busy making masks for my daughter who is a hospital nurse and knitting winter stocking caps for charitable organizations in the fall. The need may be greater this year for hats and mittens. Here in the States sales of garden seeds have been reported to be twice and almost 3 times than normal. Many planning a Victory garden. I, too, know how blessed I am to have a garden. Please everyone take special care of yourselves.

I checked my bees yesterday, I didn’t take the hive apart because we have had such a grey cold week. Like you Kate I lost a hive this winter, and I kept a frame of honey to feed them. That went on yesterday as well. Hello to everyone on the Lime green sofa. I have gluten free cookies/biscuits, and coffee to share. I’ve been boiling down maple sap into Maple syrup, it’s yummy.
