The Last Jedi has stormed into theaters. The film is certainly one of the most complex films set in a galaxy far, far away so you’ll be forgiven if you didn’t catch everything on the first viewing. There’s a ton going on in the background that you may not have even noticed and we’re here to help you find them. For example, did you catch that Rey stole the Jedi books? Blink and you’ll miss it! Luke’s final reveal was actually telegraphed well in advanced in a masterful way. Supreme Leader Snoke actually has a piece of bling that harkens back to Rogue One! Speaking of bling, what were those dice that we saw a few times? Luke has a stash of trinkets at the tree on Ahch-To, one of them ties directly to Star Wars Battlefront 2 while another may be a reference to the beloved Knights of the Old Republic video games. We get our first look, sort of, at the first Jedi while at the temple with Luke and Rey. Did you think Rian Johnson forgot about the famous line “I have a bad feeling about this?” Think again! We got to see the old X Wing used in a very interesting way and get a call back to a character from Rogue One in the form of a ship. Of course, being Star Wars, there are a ton of cameos in the film that you likely didn’t catch either, some of them being quite obvious! So strap in for the video and enjoy the ride!

I think Rian Johnson missed the part at the end of The Force Awakens where Leia, Poe and Rey are all sitting around looking at the map to Luke Skywalker. At the end of The Last Jedi he has Poe introduce himself to Rey as if she does not know him yet.

Spoilers: You forgot how in every second movie in the saga (empire and aotc) someone has gotten their hand cut off. When Ben kills Snoke the lightsaber goes through his body and cuts off his hand. Continuing the streak of the missing hand.

Luke's sunken X-Wing might have been the biggest hint that he wasn't actually facing Kylo Ren in person. Also if you look closely at the X-Wing, it appears that one side of it is severely damaged.

"took a lot risks that largely paid off" .... .... right... that's why there's all that fan back lash and people literally boycotting all LucasFilms and Lucasarts materials. I mean they only completely butchered Luke's character, gave us no reason to be invested in Rey, completely Miss-used Poe Dameron, and sent Finn on a wild goose chase which amounted to nothing all because Admiral holdo, who could have been much more then just a throwaway character, decided not to do the intelligent thing and brief her people on the plan. the result of which ended in mutiny.. the character phasma was criminally underutilized, and while played up as a strong individual, got completely wrecked by someone who was in a temporary coma only a few days ago.. the character of rose could have been much better utilized, if they didn't try to force her and Finn to have a relationship, which clearly didn't work. but yeah.. I can totally see why you say those risks paid off..

Actually the ring comes from the catacombs beneath Vader’s castle, which means that Snoke was there before the castle was built. This is important because Mustafar has always had dark energy there. And the dice are the ones that Han used to win the Millenium Falcon from Lando. Come on do your research Screen Rant!!

They don't. Stormtrooper armour actually absorbs and spread the impact of the blaster, so the wearer actually falls unconscious instead of dying with a blaster hole in their chest.

Overall, this is a good list. However, I have to correct you on one point. Rey did NOT steal the Jedi texts from Luke. It was Yoda who placed them in the Falcon. After Yoda ignites the Force tree with lightning he is heard saying to Luke about the texts; "Yes, yes, wisdom they held, but that library contained nothing that the girl Rey does not already possess." This implies that Yoda already knew they were not in the tree when he ignited it, and most likely had a hand in moving them. Realize that burning down the library and burning all the books are two different things.

In case no one else told you, the dice are the very ones used by Han and Lando in the game Lando lost the falcon to Han. He kept them as a good luck charm as they were what got him the fastest ship in the galaxy.

I think people initially like the movie but then when they start processing what they just watched they begin to dislike it , that's how I felt at least I thought it was great when I left the theater but when I started to consider that almost nothing plot wise from the force awakens was really touched on especially how Rey is as powerful as she is and tapped into the force with absolutely no training in TFA . I'm good with her not being related to anyone but they needed to justify this in some way , luke skywalker son of the chosen one could barely force pull his lightsaber to himself while he was in the wampa cave but Rey is just able to use the force like a jedi master only minutes after she realises she has power? This is my biggest gripe but there's alot more that I won't drag into this convo So my opinion is its a good movie but a bad star wars movie

No! Admiral Amalyn Holdo was a great add on! If you don't read the expanded universe novels, you wont know who she is. I loved her scenes even though they were short, it showed that even the Rebellion at times were at odds with one another.

When Yoda destroys the tree with lightning, Luke says something like "No! The sacred Jedi texts" and I think that's an incredibly subtle nod to Palpatine because sacred is basically another word for ancient and Palpatine loves ancient and sacred tales

The Ghost ship from Rebels is in the space battle scene and in the hangar scene from Rogue One. Another thing from Rebels is that a few seconds before they show the Ghost in the Hangar scene you can hear the amplifier calling none other than Captain Syndulla to the council.

Noticed the books in the drawer, and the dust not kicking up under Luke when he faced kylo, but I had assumed (incorrectly) that he was moving with the force, much like he did when Rey challenged him. It was nice to get a glimpse, however brief, of Luke’s force potential.

So assuming the ancient jedi texts hold the old jedi teachings such as the Ashla and Bogan and being centered in the force and Rey is in possesion of them that means she will teach the old ways to the new Jedi

Potentially. But, considering the effect those books had on Luke that led to his momentary plan to kill Ben for his potential danger in the Dark Side, it's more likely that they were authored by Jedi after the extremist split in Force practitioners.
