I like being able to see the actual music score rather than the fingering pictures, it is a lot more understandable and easier to pick up

You can find musical scores for most of the tutorials I post by searching Google images 😊 they often need to be purchased though, and I wouldn't have permission to share them with such a wide audience, so it can be difficult to include them in every video. But they're definitely out there, so be sure to take a look. x

last year I was in Ireland and heard the song Battle of Augrim, played on a flute. Could you show me a Tutorial how to play that song? Thank you very much.

Nice!! I learned to play this tune on the native american flute a few months ago. That fast part is very fiddly and difficult to get the timing right. A lady called Bevani does a great version on KZfaq on the native flute. She also does the sheet music on her website of the full song.

CutiePie. yeah mate, she Does a great job! So talented on the flute. I'm new to flute playing. Had my native american flute since November. Which I practice almost everyday so that's coming along ok. Been playing the didge for about 5 years. I picked up the tin whistle 3 days ago! At the minute I'm learning "the rattlin bog" and scales. But yeah Bevani's mohicans rendition is the best native one I can find on here.

CutiePie. Well it depends whether you're playing a six hole or 5 hole native flute. I have a six hole flute so with half hole notes it's 16 on the chromatic scale. And 15 on the 5 hole flute. The added note is all holes open. Honestly love. I really would recommend it! I'm more or less a begginer. Yes, I can play the didge competently. But that's a whole different ball game due to the circular breathing element. I picked this instrument up and within a few days practice I could play the pentatonic scale, extended scale and could play a basic tune with flutters/trills and cut notes. If a little rough round the edges. And wrote my own song called "forgiveness" within two months! From someone with no experience on flutes or with any form of musical theory at all. You're a talented wind instrument musician. It'll be child's play to you. The sound is almost mesmerising! I live in cornwall so on a lovely windless day. I go and play down the beach. By the time I come home it's like I've been meditating for hours. Long story short. I recommend you buy one... 😊

sverkheadstonne hi, I use a mixture of cuts and tonguing, whichever is easiest or sounds nicest at that particular point in the song 😄 cuts will add more flavour to the music though, if you can get them all in.

On the bagpipes, we use grace notes to do this, and this particular tune is FULL of them! Part of what makes this so tricky on just about any instrument. Nicely done, CutiePie.

It looks like you hold that beginning e but the music looks like it should be played 3 e notes? The way you do it sounds right but why isn't the music written like a e full note? I'm a newb, and its all so confusing

This is an early video of mine, I'd kinda just started out 😁 I don't read sheet music so I wasn't following the sheet here, I was just playing by ear. The sheet and notes are likely different to what I'm playing, as it was sheet music is found online for the tune.
