The Last of Us: Kaitlyn Dever on That Fan-Casting

4 жыл бұрынKaitlyn Dever is a personal favorite and I’d be thrilled to see her in absolutely any film, show or stage production she wants. But really, she’s just such a perfect fit for the role of Ellie in the The Last of Us. There’s been talk of an adaptation of the Naughty Dog game for years now, but just recently news broke that it could be the real deal over at HBO. Last month it was reported that Chernobyl’s Craig Mazin and Naughty Dog’s Neil Druckmann signed on to make a The Last Of Us TV series for HBO. With that announcement came a brand new slew of fan-casting articles and one name that popped up on a lot of lists for the role of Ellie was Dever’s. As is usually the case with fan-casting lists, yes, Dever looks the part and she’s also certainly got the acting chops to pull it off, but if the opportunity ever really came her way, would she even be interested? 1. From a certain angles she does look like Ellie. From her forehead to her eyes. She's like in-between of Ellie and Ashley Johnson. 2. She sounds like Ellie. A bit sharp tho. 3. Her height is almost the same as Ellie. Plus she is the daughter of Nathan Drake. It's like, if she's not going to play the role, who else?

Her reaction to the question, the way she's looking away while answering it, the way she goes around (like she doesn't want to say too much?). Besides her previous work with Neil, resemblance and etc... I got the feeling that she's already at least in the process to be in the cast. Which is GREAT, because I cant think of a better Ellie.

yeah, it would feel a bit too... on the nose, in terms of fancasting him that way. I mean, people will just associate the gruff look of hugh with Logan moreso than Joel, because we're familiar with that character in live action form

She's perfect, her ability acting is amazing and i think that she should get part in the project "the last of us" as Ellie. Why am i saying this? Definitely not hugh Jackman. The uncanny similarities between Joel and Logan would be weirdly distracting. Troy Baker who plays Joel has already said he modelled his performance a lot from Josh Brolin and I can see it. THAT would be a good pick I reckon.

The first time I seen a video talking about people who'd be perfect for the roles of the movie adaptation. They showed Kaitlyn for Ellie, and I thought she'd be perfect for the role. And from watching her on Last Man Standing, the attitude she has on that show would fit Ellie perfectly. Can't think of anyone better for the role of Ellie better than Kaitlyn

Ashley Johnson is more illogical. I find a person in their mid 20’s can easily pull off a teenager, but not someone in their 30’s. Also, even though they made part 2 Ellie resemble Ashley more, she still doesn’t have the looks. All she has is the voice (obviously).

The show could tell the story between gameplay and cut-scenes from the first game, and eventually tell the story between the first and second. As well as between the flashbacks. Because I'm sure stuff happened off screen

I wish the lady would ask how she would feel if one ex-character from the departed "Modern Family" like Alex or Lily(daughter of Cam and Mitch) would integrate into Denver on Last Man Standing next season, since they all used to work full time at ABC? I'm sure everybody has an opinion about the impressions Modern Family left on us and don't forget she had a small part on season one of Modern Family. I'm sure all those actresses back in the day on ABC still remain good friends there in Hollywood.
