ABOUT THE LAST OF US PART II
Set five years after the events of The Last of Us, players enter the role of 19-year-old Ellie, who comes into conflict with a mysterious Christian cult in a post-apocalyptic United States. The game contains survival horror elements and is played from the third-person perspective. Players can use firearms, improvised weapons, and stealth to defend against hostile humans and cannibalistic creatures infected by a mutated strain of the Cordyceps fungus.
ABOUT GUSTAVO SANTAOLALLA
Santaolalla has worked on films with some of today’s most important directors including Ang Lee, Alejandro González Iñárritu, and Walter Salles. He has written scores for iconic movies such as Amores Perros, 21 Grams, The Motorcycle Diaries, Tierra Fría, Brokeback Mountain and Babel. His numerous awards include two BAFTAs, a Golden Globe and two Oscars in a row (Best Original Song for Brokeback Mountain and Best Original Score for Babel).
In 2013 he already composed the soundtrack for The Last Of Us which was a huge success.
ABOUT MAC QUAYLE
Audiences worldwide have been captivated by the unique musical stylings of Emmy-winning and Grammy-nominated composer, Mac quayle. Quayle won an Emmy for his score on USA network’s Golden Globe winning suspense-thriller Mr. Robot, starring Christian Slater and Rami Malek, now in its final season. Quayle also scores FX and Ryan Murphy’s peabody Award-winning, Golden Globe and Emmy-nominated 80’s NYC ball scene drama pose, starring Billy Porter; Fox’s procedural drama 9-1-1, starring Angela Bassett, which he co-composes with Todd Haberman; Netflix’s the politician, starring Gwyneth Paltrow and Ben Platt; and FX’s Golden Globe winning and Emmy-nominated horror anthology American Horror Story. I love how this version of the theme is a broken and twisted version of the theme. It sounds like Ellie is trying to play it, but she can't due to the loss of her fingers.

Ellie deserved nothing more than to have a happy ending, but because of Joels actions she lost the chance to have that. Even still she could've ended up somewhat happy but she chose to seek out abby leaving her completely alone which she caused for herself

I love how the progression of the song perfectly mimics the story of the game, we start out dark and gloomy then we have a little bit happy time in the middle and finally we dive back into gloominess

This track in particular always stood out to me. Because the first game’s version of it felt like it was the main theme of societal collapse and the apocalyptic world Joel is now in. Since it literally plays during the intro sequence. And it stands out in part 2 because part 2 felt less about the infected and the apocalypse and more focused on hatred and violence of humanity. Yet it still fits so well despite the changes. Don’t get me wrong part 1 was always about Joel and Ellie, but it felt like the infected and apocalypse setting was a huge factor in the story, not so much in part 2. Still, both are perfect themes for perfect games 🤍

I like the story cos its well written and is dramatic and has some really cool moments , and just overall is a great continuation of the story. Your comment literally confirms that you’re a mush brain and you cant enjoy a game cos your brains been destroyed by politics. The game isnt even woke , its just realistic. And lev being trans actually has importance to the plot , and fits with the themes of tribalism. Abby isnt trans , she’s a straight woman. And im not progressive , i despise woke leftist idiots and woke culture , but the last of us 2 doesnt have any of that in the game and its just a great game with a great story like the first one with great characters.
