The tv series is not as good as the game, it falls short, id give it a solid but uninspired 7/10, alot of the game-journey is missed out, the threat level is just not there, they tones down the violence too and Bella Ramsay doesn't 100 % convince as Ellie, a VERY important role, there is some good stuff but there's also waste like the full hour episode on frank and his bf that was only touched upon in the game, it doesn't have the sense of a grueling journey to me...shame really.

@@pikeflowed100% agree. The show falls short of the game in nearly every way. Tho I’d argue that the show has given the virus more depth with the hive-mind aspect. I also hate the lack of action and spectacle as well as the minimizing of Joel in terms of his physical capabilities. But I think we all saw that coming..

Grenades do explode but they can't start fires. The whole point of what makes grenades dangerous is the metal shrapnel that flies in every direction after they pop. They don't create sparks or fire that would ignite the fuel.

No, not entirely in its expression though, mostly the words are there but not all. Where was the heart-rending part where Tess walks up to Joel and signals their bond/love for each other ? " Joel, there must be enough here..." and Tess encircles their love in a space between them with her hands, its scandalous they didn't include this in the tv series. Unforgivable.

It's a scene that is meant to make you feel unsettled and your whole humanity violated. The fact that you had such a visceral reaction to it shows it was not only not "without reason" but also very well executed lol

@@topknot01 No it isn't. There are plenty of scenes where the infected "feed" the non infected or near infected through the mouth. One of them is the old lady in the outbreak episode

It was meant to speed up the process. The farther away the bite is from the brain the more time it will take for the person to become fully infected. In the hbo podcast, I remember hearing that the infected won’t attack you if you don’t resist but if you do they will pursue until you’re infected

@@_bigunit69 The game was better. Not of a fan of how the fungus works in the show the infected being like the World War Z zombies just kills all immersion for me. Im one of the 1% that thinks the show failed to live up to the game.

the fungus controlling the infected man can sense the fungus in tess thats growing since shes infected, connecting to each other to finish the infection like hive mind. when joel shot that guy on the floor the fungus alerted all the other infected around the area too

@@legendg219heh, not really imo. I’m replaying the game for my millionth time at this point. And I still think the first episode, second are way better for Tess, Sarah and Joel. It adds more character and story and emotion. The hive mind stuff would’ve been way better and harder which is why I think the first half of the game is better. The third episode I highly would’ve preferred for a game to be the school part but for a show, the bill episode is so much better in every way. The fourth episode (I believe was them crossing town, haven’t watched in awhile) was so much more emotional compared to the og. Where they get ambushed and that’s when he has to get saved. And the man calling for his mom really hits in the heart. The next few episodes were similar but the bloater scene is so much crazier and better. And then the next few are the same. Left Behind being an episode makes alot of sense tooZ

Tbf half of the game is humans fighting each other. And fwiw I think you're wrong. The series is peak television. One of the best series to come out ever, up there with Arcane and Breaking Bad.

I think it suffered from poor pacing and it should have elaborated more on the infected of this world since they clearly are biologically and behaviorally different than the ones in the game. Interested to see how they handle a second season
