Her mother Guranduht was the daughter of Kıpchak Khan Atrak.Georgian King David made this marriage to ask help from kıpchak Khan Atrak againist seljuks.He gave many promises.Kıpchaks were already christian and they accepted the deal and went to georgia(some families) to protect the border and serve in the army.This kıpchak based army start the golden age of Georgia.In a short time they removed seljuks and took back the tblisi.After David ;Tamar continue these great victories againist seljuks and she become a legend in georgia and known as "warrior queen","queen of queens".

You are talking about King/Queen Tamar of 12-13th century, this one is queen Mariam of 18th-19th century.
