importante dizer que o áudio que você ouve no vídeo não é dos desfiles; é do álbum gravado antes, com todos os sambas das Escolas do Grupo Especial- a primeira divisão dos desfiles, que é também uma competição-. O áudio do desfile em si é bem diferente, com ampla percepção de captação em espaço aberto- como é o sambódromo- e o coro de quase 100.000 pessoas cantando o samba da escola que desfila naquele momento. Ainda, o áudio que toca e as imagens que passam são de Escolas de Samba diferentes. Enquanto os áudios são dos sambas da Portela e Unidos da Tijuca, as imagens são dos desfiles da Portela (do carro com a Águia gigante), Vila Isabel (do carro com o índio de pedra que jorrava água), Salgueiro (do carro da tartaruga gigante, símbolo do orixá Xangô), Tuiuti (dos ritmistas vestidos de palhaço) e Viradouro (dos carros com pessoas voando, subindo, descendo e da coreografia com as bruxas).

Alfie, it’s worth to read about the Rio Carnival. It’s very interesting to learn about the schools, the artists and the art involved, the theme of every school that has between 3 and 4 thousand participants, dancing, acting, posing etc. Also the several parties with top celebrity appearances and shows, there in this place within the carnival itself. It is with no doubt the biggest party in the world. There are more than 70 samba schools in Rio de Janeiro and they all parade during the 4 days of Carnival. They choose the plots/themes, write songs and lyrics, make costumes and floats and rehearsals throughout the year to succeed in their parades. It also cost millions of dólares to put on a show like that. It is absolutely astonishing! One will never ever forget it once had experienced it.

The residents themselves make the costumes and the floats.Each year is a different theme for each school covering fauna and flora, national history, culture and art. And in 2020 there was carnival in Brazil 😅

Meu caro amigo É muito difícil explicar para um estrangeiro todas as fases do desfile de uma escola de samba na Avenida Marquês de Sapucaí, lugar oficial dos desfiles das escolas de samba do Grupo Especial, o grupo das escolas de samba maiores e mais importantes. Os desfiles têm a duração média de 1 hora. É preciso antes uma pessoa estrangeira conhecer toda a estrutura de uma escola de samba para ela entender como essa estrutura se desenvolve durante o desfile, o que é muito difícil explicar aqui com poucas palavras. It was raining, and since it was not the main group, the crowd wasn't that big too. But even so, it was so awesome. Alfie if you want, when coming to Brazil and if it's Carnival time, the MUM is very receptive for anyone who wants to participate. (That's a invite, no joking, to see irl and very closely everything involved to parade with any Escola de Samba, I can be your guide at least with the MUM lol)

Alfie, what you are seeing is a competition. Each parade is a different Escola de Samba trying to win the competition. They have a theme to develop using the music, the costumes, and the interpretation and each part have their own specifications. It has a few categories and the judges are in four different parts of the path. This way to celebrate Carnaval happen in Rio de Janeiro (like in your video) and a few other cities, but the bigger ones are Rio and São Paulo, but in others, parts of Brazil have different ways to celebrate, like in Salvador, Recife. The parade is not all of Carnaval in Rio, it also has the Carnaval de Rua (Street Carnaval) where people get together to celebrate, I really think you should search about it, it's another level.

Alfie, the official carnival parade in Rio is divided among 12 "escolas de samba" (samba schools) in the premier league. Each "escola" has one hour to cross the avenue. During this time, it needs to tell a "enredo" ( a story, like in opera), usually related to history, arts, culture or even social criticism. We consider a different opera at the asphalt. We have 3000 persons in each parede. It is fantastic. It happens on Sunday and Monday. On wed we have the results and Saturday we have the champion parade with 6 samba school.

Hi, Alfie! Let me tell you one thing: we had Carnival here in Brazil some days before the COVID-19 came here, at end of February, 2020. And the Samba School Parades of São Paulo and Rio followed normal. We had no parade and no Carnival at 2021, due to quarantine.

He must watch Rio's 2014...... that year so many incredible things happened at the Sapaucai...... Grande Rio, Uniao de Vila Isabel and Salgueiro made this year unforgettable....... in 2020 Grande Rio made an exceptional presentation .........Salgueiro in 2016 was great....... if the Sapaucai Avenue can talk...... it will tell you fantastic things......

In first, in Brazil, there are differents Carnaval in the same time: Bahia, Pernambuco, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo... In second, these allegory cars are part of a kind of competition. For two nights, 24 large communities organize to make these parades. In this video, you watched parts of the parades of the "Escolas de Samba" in Rio de Janeiro. These communities are "Escolas de Samba", but I can't explain briefly what this is in detail.
