Remembering past Thanksgivings really makes me miss seeing everybody. It's a weird time I guess. I made this video to preserve that feeling of Thanksgiving in Arkansas. Enjoy and Happy Thanksgiving to you! -E

I wish I had what Eric had as well. I’m an only child and all of my cousins were a lot older than me so they didn’t pay much attention to me when I was a kid. So I played with my cousins kids when I was little. Then when my dad passed away in 2007 when I was 8, my relationships with my cousins suffered. I didn’t get to see them much after that and over time how often I got to see them got less and less. His family completely changed overnight and stopped having anything to do with us unless it was Christmas. They would have never got away with that if my dad was here. So ever since 2019 when I finally quit playing along with their games I haven’t had no family except my mom as my last grandma died in 2020. Those who have a nice family keep them close. A lot of people including me wish they had that.

My Great-Great Grandfather Moses Martin had a 160 acre farm near, Harrison, Arkansas. He purchased the farm right after the Civil War. He was a Confederate war Veteran. Unfortunately, in the early, 1900's it was sold. I still have some, Martin relatives up there though. I live in Texas. Great, video of your Dad and family legacy. God 🙏 bless you and your family this Thanksgiving! 🦃🙂🤠👍 Sincerely, Jim, Texas.

Your lucky you have a family to hang out with every year. I wish I had it. Thanksgiving is awesome, it's an amazing holiday that should be kept as it is. I'm so grateful people can get together like this. But my Thanksgivings are always full of pain and loneliness. It hurts looking at people having fun like this, it makes me cry every time. But Im so grateful people actually get to enjoy this. Please don't take your family for granted. playing Xbox and drinking beer might feel better but you have no idea unless you do how much it hurts with out those tacky get togethers.

We have a big very huge dinner bell outside. Farm is so big that back in the day the men might be half way across the county farming n the only way to know food was ready was to ring that big bell. It is a bell bought from an old church that brined back in 1888. That’s how old this farm goes back in my family. Lol. These are such good memories. Keep up the great work boys!!!!

Like my family. All the family met at Aunt Re n Uncle Earl’s farm for every holiday. Now in 2023 they are all gone and it’s just the cousins and me but we still meet at the farm every year. Now it’s only once per year and one of us volunteers to go once a month to make sure all is well at the house (neighbors keep an eye out all the time). This brings back such good memories. Im two years older than you but still of the same generation with very similar memories!!!!

So sorry you lost your dad on Thanksgiving. If I could go back in time and tell myself one thing it would be "Don't take anything or anybody for granted because one day you're going to wake up and they will all be gone." When you're young you think you and your family are going to be around forever, you don't realize how precious life and youth really are. 😥

This was a great video. Sorry to hear about your dad. I sadly lost my dad when I was 8. His last thanksgiving with us was in 2006, and on that thanksgiving we had no idea it would be his last. His health sadly took a turn for the worst a month later, and he passed away in July 2007 after a short battle with brain cancer. I miss him everyday and I still wish I could wake up from that bad dream and that the door would open and he would walk in. Life is so short, so I live everyday like it’s our last day. We never know what day will be our last.

I was born in the UK and we moved to the USA (Charleston SC) when I was 11. Thanksgiving was never a big deal in our house because we were immigrants and didn't grow up with it, but I used to love going to friends' houses for Thanksgiving dinner. I moved back to England 2 years ago and we don't have anything similar to Thanksgiving here. I miss it. Your dad seemed awesome. I'm so sorry you lost him, Eric.

I lost my Dad a few years ago. Even though we were no longer close at the time he passed, it still truly stings. As a kid nothing really prepares you for such things. You almost naively believe that everyone close to your is immortal. Then one day you're an adult yourself suddenly and you start to lose people left, right and centre. I'm sorry for your loss. But at the very least you have some amazing memories, and one's you can look back on so you don't start to ever forget.

Thanks for sharing with us. Hard not to get a bit puffy eyed when remembering those we've lost over the years. I hope everyone else out there had a chance at some semblance of normalcy on Thanksgiving and is having a peaceful time.

Thank you very much for this video. I feel and think exactly like you at this time. Went through the same. We were fortunate to have had many cherished times. In honor of those no longer with us, a celebration of Thanksgiving for all. Take care my brother

What a special video. I’m crying after seeing it, however I’m so happy you have these special memories preserved. These moving pictures, or even funny stories about things your dad did when you were a kiddo ☺️ these will keep him with you forever! I wish I had made some memories I could revisit, like you have. How precious.
