I really enjoyed this book. I know people tend to prefer Final Girls more. Honestly, I had more fun reading this than Final Girls. I liked both. Loved the ending.

I loved this book! I haven't made a review yet but it's coming soon. I love how Sager leads you along multiple paths, as someone who reads a lot of thrillers I can usually predict them pretty well so when the author can make it so I can't put my finger on it I enjoy it so much more. Also... the ending... what!? Seriously one of the best endings I've had in a while.

Same! I love when books are all over the place with clues but it has to be done right. I could not put this down!

Hi there. Thanks so much for you review. I actually just finished reading the book. And my gosh was I shocked. This was so much better than the first book. The structure's so perfect! Also, the writing is much more polished this time around. The way each chapter reflected events in pairs. One in the past, one in the present. The juxtaposition of synonymous places in different contexts. You've got to appreciate that. You can really see the good editing done with the manuscript. You felt nearly every line. Every turn of phrase. How each chapter ends. It's so good! And the payoff? Talk about that ending. It was so worth it. I hope we get more books of this caliber. I'm really glad to have read it.

Yes!!!!!! I thought his first book was good but this was much better! I hope he continues in that direction because I’m really looking forward to more of his work! Glad you enjoyed it so much!

Me too. Maybe it's best that we go in with no expectations whatsoever. That's what I did before reading this book. It paid off! I think we make it harder for ourselves when we expect too much in any given work. So let's just read books and let the writing speak for itself. If it's good, then it'll show. By the way, is it just me or do the characters' names sound too familiar? Vivian reminds me of Vivian Darkbloom from "Pretty Little Liars." There's also Allison which is one "L" away from Alison. And don't get me started with the whole "Charlotte" real name twist. I feel like the writer is a fan of the show. We also have the infamous Katherine from "The Vampire Diaries." Even the way Vivian calls Emma "Em." It reminds me of how Ali called Emily in PLL.

I’ve never seen either of those shows but from what you’re saying it sounds like he may be a fan! lol. I’m definitely going to have to remind myself to not have super high hopes for the next one. That could really ruin the book if you do that.

I enjoyed this book immensely. I loved the backstory of the photographs. Id love for him to write a book about that whole situation.

I gave it a 3/5. I absolutely loved all the twists, but there were bits where I had some problems with suspension of belief. Emma comes by most of the clues way too easily. At one point I had to check if the writer was a man because the girls didn't feel like girls to me so much as girls as a guy might imagine them. I've also worked as a counselor at a summer camp, and the amount of free time that both the campers and the counselors have in this book is just ridiculous. Working at a camp is a 24/7 job.

I could see that (about the clues). I’ve never been to a summer camp so I wouldn’t know what it’s truly like. But makes sense that it isn’t just a free for all lol. I just enjoyed the story and it kept me wanting to know more and figure out what happened. The twists helped with that. I feel like I read a lot of mysteries where I have to suspend belief.

Yes! I would say Final Girls may be hit or miss for some people but I thought it was good. This one was better though! I read it awhile ago and I still think about it! 😁

hello! amazing review. Is it suitable for 15 yrs old?
@CarolMarieReads

I would say yes. But keep in mind I grew up on horror and was reading Stephen King in grade school. 15 year olds are probably seeing worse stuff than this book on tv/internet

It was so great! It really kept me guessing. I just had to know! Have you read his other book Final Girls? I enjoyed that one too but I don’t think it’s as good as this one.
