Fun fact there was an actual guy who actually made peaceful contact with them. He kept going that I’m giving them coconuts. They normally just bury them with any other types of goose they’ve got until they started to act peaceful with him even in the boat without killing him but they didn’t want him to stay on the island. He then retired so peaceful contact is possible however it relies on a lot of trust building.
