Fr Goodwin, FSSP, gives a great talk on the importance & great need for The Latin Mass now more than ever. He explains WHY we need this beautiful Mass returned to the Faithful. It is our most precious possession & was always meant to grant God's Special Graces to the Flock & then be taught to our children, etc.

Wonderful priest , Fr Goodwin is. I too, became attracted to Latin Mass, some how I feel closer to God and more calm in traditional church than modern church, been attending latin mass for about 1 year now.

I've listened to this talk probably a dozen times now. This is my new favorite movie.

This was fantastic! It only encourages me in my vocational discernment. If I AM called to the priesthood, perhaps my journey is headed towards the FSSP if their teaching is as sound as Fr. Goodwin.

I'm an agnostic. Father Goodwin was great teacher and great man when he tought in my high school. Im glad to see him well. Always interesting to listen to. Great speaker.

Thankyou Fr Goodwin you spoke the words right out of my heart we have a latin mass in auckland New zealand and once a month the priest comes north to a church in Hikurangi and recites the latin mass, The parish priests in the region do not attend

sede vacante (vacant seat/office) is the idea that the office of the Pope is not filled- implying that the current popes are in actuality fake/not valid. Most of the people holding on to this idea hold that the last valid pope was Pope Saint Pius X. FSSP- Fraternitas(fraternity) Sacerdotalis(priestly) Sancti(Saint) Petri(Peter). They are not sedevacantists and are fully in communion with the Church as my fellow commenters note below.

Not that this may be of interest to many, perhaps one or two: I was never baptized, I was brought up very loosely Protestant but have gone my own way in looking for what made sense to me. I found a church in London that has held on to the Latin Mass and went out of warm curiosity. That was 5 years ago. I just stand at the back and kneel where I have been told is appropriate - every Sunday. The same people come from miles away. Saint Joseph and Saint Padarn in north London. vincit omnia Veritas

"Active Participation" @49:50 I love the Latin Mass because there's none of this crap. Non believers going to communion with their arms crossed over their chest and having a lay person "bless" them. Drives me nuts.

Father Goodwin was my teacher in High School. Where is he now? Do you know how to contact him? I wasn't a good Catholic as a teenager, but as an adult I was attracted to the Latin Mass and started attending the Mass in Portland, Me right after he left. Any info would be appreciated

The way to solve the problems of the Old Latin mass and the new Vatican 2 mass is to let these two thrive in the parishes. Later, we will know the Latin mass will have more attendants. By that , we will know the Latin is still popular. Then that's the way to slide back to Tredentine Latin mass.

There is nothing sede vacante about this. Know what the term means before you banter it about. The FSSP is not sede vacante.

@1Hope4All SSPX is not sedevacantist...many individuaos seem to be but it is officially important to them to not be sedevacantist...cuz then they would not be Catholic

In my humble opinion, and absolutely no disrespect intended twards the Most Holy Eucharist and the faithful priests and so on but, the New Mass to me reminds me alot like New Coke! Cocacola gave New Coke a try, it didn't work, they got rid of it and went back to what did work and what every body loved which is the original formula Cocacola!
