10 жыл бұрынThe 5th June 2012 the world´s largest viking ship - Draken Harald Hårfagre was launched and named. Soon after after that, on 13th of June 2012, the 300 square meter large sail was hoisted for the first time.
After having been trapped inside a shipyard for more than two years, the large Viking ship is finally in its true element; the sea. Now the time has come to tame the Draken....

Kind of mind blowing to see the mast seated only 6 or so inches into the base zmd ropes actually holding it in place. Very impressive work, being a carpenter and a lover of all things to do with water, i coyld have been a viking too and relishnin the possibility of sailing on one someday.

I live in the feet of the alps in the extreme north Italy and always I walked in mountain but, I would love to sail one day in a viking ship, respect for the Norseman!

It doesn't show them blessing the engine. In a video of this ship entering New York Harbor a person operating the controls of the engine is seen and also the backwash from the propeller.

No wonder Vinkings were feared and strong warriors, any crew lifting that sail or rowing that ship must have been mighty. Imagine any french or british people that time captured a boat like this and wondering: How do they sail it.....
