It was a promise made one year ago, one that was supposed to have been fulfilled by now. The construction of houses for low income earners investing in a sacco society, Ekeza and a sister company Gakuyo Real Estate. Tonight KTN and crime investigations desk can authoritatively report that no houses have been built and members could be staring at a scam. The chairman of the sacco society, a Bishop David Ngari Gakuyo says he did not promise to build houses for his members. Members of the sacco society have told KTN News they want their hard earned money back. The man of the cloth even went ahead to threaten KTN’s crime desk reporter Dennis Onsarigo. Then they pay back the cost of land, construction, profit, wages and opportunity cost in 5-10 Years? No Steve, Not workable at all. ...and No, no one will give you a loan for that, otherwise we'd all go there for the money and build our houses and tell the banks to wait for their money in 10 years as we enjoy the stay in the newly constructed houses.

I think people should be educated first, to guard themselves, next, the govt to publish all legit licensed realtors in a public gazette and online, so that people can check if the companies are legit.

The government can't interfer with private entity. Even auditing them you will have to go by what that company gives so if the company gives false documents the govt will have to just take that. Snooping around could get you sued, which would cost millions to billions. That's how they get away. The only option is educating the masses to not trust sweet deals. Without people they won't make money.

Ekeza sacco is a total fraud. That so called bishop should be in custody by now. They shamelessly take people's money giving false promises and refuse to refund. And even though they have been reported to authorities numerous times, they always give bribes so no action is taken. Recently there was a whatsapp screenshot shared on Facebook where the bishop was trying to dissuade a blogger from releasing critical fraud information by offering him 200K. Unless you have friends or family who have invested in the sacco for months and have been frustrated by that bishop, it's hard to believe.
