So Toronto wants a solid D-man for as little salary as possible, and giving up as little as possible in return? Good luck with that!

What's the purpose in regurgitated defensemen, goalies, etc , passed around from team to team? Then what's the purpose of each teams' recruiting/drafting staff, be it amateur and professional, and then on top of that, the development coaching staff and such? Is that entire section of the office not involved with professional players development as well as Amateur?

I love the idea of inter-rivalry trophies (the Cali one should be the Death Valley Cup, lbr). In college football, the largest/heaviest inter-rivalry trophy is for the UNR-UNLV game, which is the Fremont Cannon (yes an actual cannon like Columbus has, only bigger), and the winner gets to keep it and paint it and use it in all their home games. Alas, I don't think Columbus has that sort of rival, nor would they be willing to bet their cannon on it 😂

There must be some player by now who played for all three teams. Name it after him. But if they ever had such a thing it would probably be sponsored by some local business, so it would have a name like the "In & Out Burger Cup". That's how it worked in NY.

They used to have, or at least announce, on the broadcasts of Rangers-Islanders-Devils games, when the teams were playing one of the other teams, that they were playing for the "cup" of the NY area teams. They would put up a graphic of the standings of the three teams against each other for the "championship". The Cup was named after the sponsor and basically when the standings were posted it was a commercial for the sponsor. I don't think the teams cared much about winning this "cup" besides the fact that they wanted to win that particular game, and the fact that this promotion was run for years and I don't remember who the sponsor was shows how ineffective the promotion was. I'm thinking it might have been PC Richards, a NY area electronics store, but I'm not sure. It even might still be going, but I'm not sure of that either. It might have been called something like "The PC Richards Metro Area Cup". Maybe another NY area resident out there remembers it better than I do.

Jack Campbell still being on the team risks the Oilers momentum. This is very unsettling bringing him back. The only way giving him another chance he needs a year in the AHL minimum.

Nikita moves so well for his size and can really shoot the puck if given the opportunity. Sabres had to include him to seal the Ryan O’Reilly trade with Colorado. He’s been solid on the ice but hasn’t lived up to his first round status. No one wants to settle him though. Holes in his game or holes in his person?

We speculate Leafs wanted him because we look dumb. The cost was a 3rd rounder in 2026, which is nothing. They make stuff up guys. They could have easily gotten him. There was no market so he fetched zip. They use the Leafs to create a market that doesn't exist. Anyone could have Zadorov, no longer ne wanted him,BDO he went dirt cheap. A 3rd rounder in 2026 girl.

Wrong, TO would have needed cap retention by Flames so the price to them goes way up. Canucks moved Beavulie for a 5th (not much) to have the room. TO needs to make room in cap by trade or over pay for a Dman.

These two have always steered the narrative for the NHL, but more than ever they are doing it for the teams too. The price of access I guess. It's getting harder and harder to believe what they say. It's like listening to Russian state media.

Please, please, please do NOT bring Jack Campbell up. It looks like the team has started to turn a corner. They don't need to be flinching again everytime the opposition takes a shot on goal. Also stop with the "Jack is such a great guy, blah, blah. Being a great guy has nothing to do with stopping pucks. I'm tired of hearing this! Jack needs to play a double digit amount of games playing solid goal. He doesn't need to steal games; he just needs play a lot of solid games in goal. Only then should they consider moving him up.

i think Tre thought he could whittle Conny down to give him Z for basically nothing. Conny actually stood his ground and said FU if you want to low ball me and if you're gonna low ball me, I'm gonna give him up for peanuts to someone else. Now what will you give me for Tanev if we retained half his salary? Better be better than what you offered for Z.

There are a lot more sports fans spread throughout Canada who dislike the Maple Leafs. Here in southern Ontario, the NFL is king, college football (American) is the second-most liked, the NBA third, and the NHL fourth. I came to dislike when the Toronto Toros left Toronto as I knew the only way the Leafs would care about winning was with competition. Write about the Leafs with your Kool-Aid, they'll never win in a league of more than six teams.
