As usual, Johnny Depp is the greatest thing about this.

All that audience participation makes it seem like a Jake and the Neverland Pirates cartoon having an identity crisis.

I never understand why attraction parks keep doing this thing where they hype everyone up to see Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow and instead 3/4 of it is some random skull trying to sound like a pirate

I honestly miss when disney had real live performances. It was just a special feeling. The last time I saw a live one was for a beauty and the beast show

Thank you for taping this. I never got a chance to see it. Loved the interactivity with the guests. Always nice to see Johnny as Jack. I've never really liked that venue after seeing the Narnia exhibit. It's in a bad location and hard to find.This was awesome in comparison! Plus its a nice break from the heat for 15 mins.. Hopefully, Disney should take notes on this and expand on it somewhere else.

I love pirates of the caribbean

I had the pleasure of experiencing this attraction firsthand just days before it closed.

I really hate that they took this down. It was so cool. Made my trip, to be honest. It was the closest thing to actually being with an in-character Johnny. What I wouldn't give to see it live again.

IMHO, the only real missed opportunity here is not making that screen also project onto the ceiling, so the viewer is 100% surrounded by sky.

13:00 "can we go in here before I suffocate myself to death?" I love this attraction... from the point that Jack Sparrow appears. The talking skull was too corny for me to appreciate from a recording, but I'd still enjoy it in person if it were still around tbh. I went as a child and just remember crying and having to be taken out pretty much as soon as the skull showed up lmao. sad ;c

It's hard to tell from the video, and I was able to figure it out when the water spout on the ship happened, but when we saw the show live everyone was unsure whether it was an actor or a projection. We were able to tell it was Johnny Depp, but it looked so real that it threw us off. It IS a projection, but even as we were leaving people in my group were still on the fence. While a lot of the comments are "use an actor" or "use an animatronic" I personally think it would take away from the experience.

I was beginning to wish that I hadn't watched this and that the ride wouldn't exactly be worth going on but then I saw Jack and it just so happened to get better.

I just came back from WDW last week and I can't believe that I missed this attraction. Oh well, at least I got to check out the new section of Fantasyland!! But this does look pretty good and DHS needed something new anyway.

This looks fun. It's not the best, but it's not terrible at all. Hollywood Studios does need more attractions. If it wasn't for the Rockin' Rollercoaster and Tower of Terror, I probably wouldn't even go to the park.

I've been in the Narnia attraction, what was dissapointing. Now this! This is awesome! The way they do it, wonderful :) Little question: is there a souvenir shop at the end with pirate stuff?

This is like one of those interactive children shows you find on Nick jr

They've discovered if you run film at double or triple the normal speed (24 fps) you get a much more detailed projection. Unfortunately, you use up a LOT of film.

I got to volunteer as the pirate with the skeleton key in the theatre in june it was fun

I would love to be there because I love pirates of the Caribbean

No this did not replace the pirates rude at magic kingdom (for those thinking it may have), this is in Disney Hollywood Studios. If you choose to view it when there, make sure you stay to the right of center when being forced shoulder to shoulder into the room. If there is a long wait, deffinately skip it as its not very good. With a few projectors, this is something that the average person with a little knowledge of projection mapping could easily do themselves.

I was so glad to have seen this show, which was essentially a tech demo or proof of concept. In person, I was convinced an amazing physical actor was playing Jack Sparrow. The fingerprints of this show are found all over the parks now - the magic mirror at Enchanted Tales with Belle, the explosions on Rise of the Resistance, the entirety of Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway... heck, I could be wrong, but this show might have predated projection mapping on the castle. A lot of the amazing projection mapping tech that we've seen over the last 10+ years can be traced back to this show.

This was a really good show when i saw it in real life. I do admit that it gets childish though, but it's kind of worth the 15 minutes to go do it.

I think this was meant more for children who like the movies it isnt really scary but it has the characteristics of a children themed ride/show I think if you have kids or you are just a all around i dont care I'll have fun with the kids person then go along with it lol

If you knew about the history of Disney Parks (which I am sure you do), it was supposed to be place where parents and children can BOTH enjoy the parks. Not where parents can be treated like children.
