That ended rather abruptly. There's a part 2 in the making I suppose. This is a great review of IBB's time at the helm of Nigeria. Such a review would not be complete, however, without a mention of his healthy respect for (some would say fear of) Sani Abacha, which was driven home by the Orkar coup of 1990 and led to significant changes, not least of which was the relocation of the seat of government to Abuja and the acceleration of IBB's departure from government.
@mr7teen9222 ай бұрын
That respect of Sani Abacha was mainly because he (IBB) knew the person of Abacha in Nigerian Military history. I'd say its just a show of how smart IBB was instead of how much "respect" he had for Abacha.

Ignorance truly is bliss. IBB structural adjustment program (aka SAP) is the same IMF endorsed neoliberal program that BAT and the two other major presidential candidates proposed. It is the same suffering in different eras.

It’s normal if a best friend went against you. Military regime have no friend and it has been shown that is people close to you will bring you down in military

It's not a hailing or proclamation, it's more like a generalization of all his stories, personal and 3rd person based.. So a legend is a story based on someone and his exploits

He's the builder of modern Nigeria, no civilian President does t better, however, he was good dictator. What a mixed feeling.

All said here are personal opinions. IBB was easily our best president except for June 12. All the key policies today are still based on IBB - 6-3-3-4 for education - Primary health care - MAMSER, DFFRI, NDE, School on Wheel, privitization of economy, NIPSS...the list endless He remains our most powerful ex- president today...

@@Taythestoryteller I understand the Meaning of "Legend" very well sir, and I understand the usage & meaning within this context. But still, using Legend is a reach, honestly speaking. It is your channel and you can obviously do as your deem fit. I amongst others, appreciate your works as you make an effort to share things balancedly. But I'm saying very honestly, "LEGEND of Babangida" is just... *shakes head*. Thank You.
