“In it for the money” they do know that he risked his ENTIRE career and used all of his money to make the original trilogy? He was taking such a big risk by making a new hope and even bigger risk deciding to make empire strikes back. If episode 5 wasn’t received well, he would be broke, jobless, and probably lose all writing credit for any major film ever again. He would be a joke to the business. But he risked it to be able to fulfill is destiny to create something totally different at the time that had a 50/50 chance of even being popular depending on how the people of the time would take it. But the fans loved it and loved the next one and got a good ending as well. That is very lucky in show business. Lucas put his heart and soul into the O.T. and anyone who says he’s in it for the money is misinformed.

While i do agree with your fundamental message, i dont think you properly addressed the comment. In my view the "in it for the money" is more directed at the prequels and everything that came after them. When an Artist continues a series that was uber popular there will always be the question if they actually want to continue the story or if they're just "mining out the gold vein" that their first work struck upon, if youll pardon the metaphors. Personally i don't think that this is the case with Lucas, seeing as he's always kept a relatively tight reign on the creative direction(till it was sold to disney).

Even the prequels were a labour of love for George, the problem was him not having anyone telling him no, so the visuals are great, the themes and ideas are also great but on screen the dialogue wasn't great and there was too much crammed into a short time so it seemed rushed as well The sequel trilogy is what in it for the money looks like, they were rushed out with no plan just to cash in on the name as soon as humanly possible to try and make back some of the billions Disney dropped on the IP

28:15 Honestly, I never knew George had anti-war sentiments until hearing folks like you mention it but it really shows in his movies. Plus, one thing I really like about George is that he is principally against war but he is also a realist and a pragmatist enough to understand that sometimes war is necessary for peace. And that also shows Star Wars as a whole. I really respect folks who have principles but are smart enough to know when to adapt those principles with reality.

Did you know, George wrote "The Deserter" as an analogy of the way he felt about selling Star Wars? He tried to tell us and subliminally set the stage for leaving the fan wars; The People vs George Lucas. Sector J-19 is in the Saleucami system. The name Saleucami is an anagram of "Lucas am I". George found a new family and he doesn't want to mess up this time. He set the stage for his stories to be told with the first trilogy but people didn't get it, so he expanded it with a second. In my opinion, he should've finished the third before he let go, but that may not have allowed him time to take care of his family. What he wrote for the third was paralleled by the sequels but people don't see it. They wouldn't have even if he did it himself. It'll just take a little longer for people to see. They (The People against George) are just starting to see how the prequels fit.

Show idea: A band of brothers type TV show that focuses on clones. The first episode is either the battle of Geonosis, the beginning of the clone war or a bit back more to Kamino (before the first deployment) to develop characters. The first episode also focuses on a Sergeant that is deployed in a platoon. At this point they do not have names, so they refer to each other by their CT numbers, but near the end they encounter Grievous, which wipes out almost all of the clone unit. The Sergeant holds his dying commanding officer in his arms, and the officer gives him a name. After this, the Sergeant also receives a promotion due to a lack of officers at the time. The rest of the series focuses on 1 unit that still contains the OG Sergeant. They build up characters over time, but any character can be killed at any time. At the end of the series, The clone unit is relocated to Corosuant, but order 66 takes place at this time, so the commander and maybe along with some clones lacking inhibitor chips and the padawan(The master was killed when order 66 was inacted.)the now commander has to sacrifice himself so his Padawan commander, and younglings (one of them can even be Grogu, aka baby yoda) Maybe an ARC trooper goes with the Younglings as well due to their enhanced independence. As the commander holds off waves and waves of (501st) clone troopers at the Temple, he comes across Anikin. He puts up a fight, even managing to get a stab in with a Vibro blade knife, but gets dispatched rather quickly.

It’s almost poetic. Their first premiere of their show is on the big screen. Although they “failed miserably”, They continued on, Learned new lessons, N by season 6 that same team that is still a tv show, was clearly worthy for taking on the big screens. I say the team then because much has changed since some members has left n new members are recruited n needs to be taught n caught up to speed. The synergy isn’t as great now n it’s pretty clear in the season 7 n bad batch show. But I’m sure they’ll get over it

This is very, very well made, but a point. Lucas *did* develop 3d animation. In Star Trek, the Wrath of Khan, his company completed the first ever 3d effect sequence in film. Furthermore, they hired John Lassiter, of pixar, and funded the 3d cgi short "The Adventures of André & Wally B." The division that would become Pixar, was sold to Apple, actually, by George Lucas. But, do not discredit, as the Lucas founded Industrial Light and Magic was still at the forefront of CGI animation, the photorealistic kind, for film. They did Jurassic Park, after all. So yes, Lucas can say "Using 3d technology, which we developed," because, they did.

This trilogy of documentary style analysis videos on the Clone Wars Series are honestly astonishing and Outstanding masterpieces. These videos are my favourite videos on the platform and some of best I've ever seen. You analyse every aspect of this series with so much detail and care for what you are creating. I can feel every ounce of passion you put into this project. These videos have made me appreciate the Clone Wars series so much more now and even illustrated genuis aspects I wasn't fully aware of. I could ramble on forever about these videos but in conclusion these are truly masterpieces.

18:50 - 19:05 And yet whenever I watch the intros to The Clone Wars, all I hear is the narrator from that live action 90s George of the Jungle movie... and then I expect that theme song to kick in with Anakin Skywalker swinging on electric cables, wailing like Tarzan, before slamming his face into the bridges of Venator-class Star Destroyers.

that's one of the things I like about the show, the radio introduction for each episode that is every bit like Flash Gordon and Buck Rodgers from the 1930s and 40s. I'm running a Star Wars Saga system RPG game, where the characters are seeing things from the Separatists point of view and every session I begin with a similar radio intro.

George actually did television long before The Clone Wars with Young Indiana Jones in the early 90's. He loved his time in television and foresaw what the medium would become as like The Clone Wars it broke many traditions you usually see on the small screen. It was also made in the same way as the Prequels in many respects. Really all of his work has a consistent creative process but Young Indy in particular is where the digital technology (he helped create) started to catch up with his vision. Television in general has started to catch up with this creative process and the way he chose to do his narratives. He also wanted to do a series on the Roman Empire but during that time someone else came up with Rome so he decided against it. As for myself I've always loved the Prequels wholeheartedly and don't see the flaws that people point to. I try to find them but I can never see them. I never really needed The Clone Wars to make them better for me like it seems to be the case for a fair few out there. For me it's really stories of what happened during the war and is a more rounded view on these things instead only focusing on the Skywalker side of the story like George said in one of the documentaries in the official behind the scenes. It also was laying groundwork for his Sequels like with Darth Maul's return and the Force Priestesses in way of the reveal we would've gotten with the Whills. I'm really sad we never got to see that come together as it feels so bold and new while also bringing full circle all eras. The series is not perfect but great in a lot of ways. I'm certainly liking it a lot more as a whole now than I did my first time through as I think I was influenced by fan prospective too much and was burnout from not connecting with the Disney era. To me Star Wars will always be George's as I can see just how personal it was for him. I don't get that sense of personal storytelling anymore. I'm glad there's people that enjoy the new era though. Thank you for your prospective on The Clone Wars with this essay as it's good to see a different point of view as it is good to see another way of looking at it.

Anakin's turn is pretty clear from the movies. I list: Anakin lost a mother whom he could not visit because of the rules of the Jedi, even then he destroyed the Tuskens and ceased to trust the order. The Chancellor always treated him well and encouraged his ambitions. Further, he angrily killed the unarmed Dooku, breaking the code, was not given the title of master and was forced to spy on the chancellor, was not allowed to battle with Grievous, he saw Padme die, as he did with his mother, and Palpy promised to save her, plus promised strength, power and immortality, he was jealous of Obi-Wan, while Windu wanted to kill unarmed Palpy before his eyes, although the head of the Jedi himself ... Well, when Windu slammed, there was no turning back, only to complete the work of the empire.
