9:55 Funny thing is when Critical Role did the Q&A with the VA of Delilah, she and the VA of Percy were doing jabs at each other, it ended with her saying "I hear you're (Percy) the life of the party, but only at family reunions".

I never got the "Batman should kill the Joker" thing. He regularly turns them into the police, and it's the justice system that decided he can't be executed. At that point it's on Gotham.

@@tyrannosaur219 Exactly. Batman catches the criminals constantly. It's not his fault that they refuse to execute the mass murderers that routinely escape and go on killing sprees, or that Arkham Asylum is so easy to escape that Joker literally considers getting sent there a vacation.
@yumega
@yumega 2 жыл бұрын
I think it's just the idea that Batman is being weirdly choosey about when he leaves things to the system, and when he takes care of things himself, and the time he chooses to leave things to the system is the time that allows people to die. He already goes outside the system to fight crime, because normally it is up to the system to investigate crimes and track down/ capture the bad guys. But then he goes back and relies on that system to actually take care of the problem? Seems weird. Not only that, but there is repeated and extensive evidence that the system is incapable of dealing with the Joker, and yet he keeps expecting it to? It feels like an inconsistency created to maintain a very basic and incomplete concept of justice.
@tyrannosaur219

@@yumega I mean, ultimately that is what it is. As cliche as his Rogues Gallery continually escaping Arkham is, it’d probably be even worse if they killed off every villain in every story - either through Batman’s actions or through the justice system - only for them or another individual with the exact same powerset/gimmick who’s taking up their name to suddenly jump back in because the franchise would eventually die if people’s favorite villains were gone forever and they had to keep inventing new ones. I’m assuming that’s the case, at least. I’m not all that familiar with superhero comics outside of what I’ve gained through pop culture osmosis. And yes, I know that they do occasionally kill off important characters only for exactly what I described above to play out for the sake of drama; but what I’m talking about is them doing it with literally every issue/story arc ending with the main villain being dead, only for “them” to pop up again the next day like it’s fucking whack-a-mole.

My current campaign is Myself, My Boyfriend and my two best friends. My boyfriend is playing elven druid(that's all he'll tell about his character except for the DM.), my female best friend is playing a half-elf dex paladin, with a pet bearded dragon, my male best friend is playing a human fighter, who has sub-brick intelligence and is basically our brute strength, and then we come to yours truly, a hexblade, pact of the blade, Tiefling warlock, who's actually hexblade is a talking whip, took improved pact of the blade so I could summon and have proficiency with ranged weapons, and has, as of three sessions ago, acquired a gun which already has three kills, a torture for information, a mercy kill, and a friendly fire incident too it's name. (I've named the gun "The Diplomatic Option.") and for the record, if you are interested, the alignments we're all aware of are: The fighter, lawful good, The paladin, true neutral and myself, Chaotic Neutral (as in actually chaotic neutral, not murder hobo, believe it or not, the one with a demonic whip which speaks to them in infernal, baying for mortal souls to feast upon, is the voice of reason.) I also have 20 Cha, proficiency in all charisma skills and expertise in persuasion and deception, couple that with the fact that, when speaking at least, I have somewhat of a silver tongue, and that leaves the sociopathic Tiefling, as the party face.

The best selling Discworld series was influenced by Sir Terry Pratchett's time playing D&D. Jon Favreau has also credited his D&D experience on how he creates his movies, so it could be suggested that the entire MCU owes a debt to Gygax and Dave Arneson.

The most common way to deal with vampires is to hit them with enough damage that they are forced into their vampiric mist form, and then either hitting them with radiant damage, or tracking them to their coffin, where they are immobilised while they regenerate, and staking them through the heart. Radiant damage is more or less Holy Light damage, which is why Pike blessing Grog's weapon ( a take on the 5th level spell Holy Weapon) meant that the damage he then dealt to Silas stuck.

So just so you get the timing context the first 2 episodes where pre-campaign this last episode is from the actual online show but in the anime they skip like 90% of the side quest's and storyline for time saving while keeping the story consistent with the actual storyline but between the first 2 episodes and the 3rd episode they went thru like 30-35 episode's each being 3-4 hours long with plenty of won battles and loses and up's and down's.
@theirishviking9278
@theirishviking9278 2 жыл бұрын
there are three-ish reasons they skipped the 30 odd episodes 1. the story in that 30 episodes have a looot of copyrighted content in them as enemies 2. the briarwood ark is where a lot of people say season 1 really hit its stride 3. the easy removal of a copyrighted player character

Campaign 3 gets better in my opinion after the first arc when Dorian Storm leaves. (Please don't take this as a bash on Robbie or Dorian. I liked him and his character.) But for a reason I can't explain I started loving the 3rd campaign after the first arc. Don't get me wrong they had some great moments prior to this but overall I was not loving it just liking it. I'm saying this to people who are watching Critical Role for the 1st time. They may be feeling the same way. My advice to them is to stick with it as it gets better with each passing week.

The question is: why did they come to Whitestone?
@VegetaLF7
@VegetaLF7 2 жыл бұрын
In the show, to exert their influence over Sovereign Uriel and as personal invite to discuss the matter of the recent dragon attack, with Uriel believing there were larger forces at play. In the game, Whitestone was planning on building a bridge to the neighboring continent of Wildemount (Whitestone is located in the north-eastern tip of Tal'dorei and there is only a narrow ocean pass between it and Wildemount to the east) and were in Emon to discuss it with the Council of Tal'dorei. Percy had learned of the Briarwoods' existence and involvement with Tal'dorei politics previously and had passed along a request to the Council that he (and Vox Machina by extension) be alerted should any dealings with the Briarwoods crop up. In the show Vox Machina was at the dinner purely because they were heralded as heroes to the land for their handling of Brimscythe. In the game they were there as part of an intentional investigation into the Briarwoods' motives and activities.

Yep, it’s an animated adaptation of Critical Role’s first campaign that they streamed online! They currently have three campaigns, 2 completed and the 3rd was recently started. Campaign 1, which Legends of Vox Machina is an adaptation of, started partway through, since it started as a game of DND at home among friends. They also have several one-shot episodes separate from their campaigns entirely.
