To be clear, when Percy said he was least looking forward to killing Stonefell, he didn’t mean it out of of reluctance. It’s just that compared to everyone else, he was small-fry

I was a tiny bit disappointed in the execution of the line. I thought it came off much better in the live stream. I think it was part of the How Do You Want to Do This(HDYWTDT)? Percy stood over the top of Stonefell's body, said the line in almost disgust, then fired the remaining shot to finish him off. The delivery of the line in this episode just didn't have the same impact because it was said near the start of the encounter rather than the end. But I understand why they did it, because the choice to show his rage at the end(with the eyes) had so much more visual impact. I don't think the following is any kind of spoilers because it's all been in the series so far, though not pointed out. But just in case, here's a little spoiler space before describing the names on Percy's gun: . . . . . Percy's pepperbox gun is named The List. It has six barrels, but five names inscribed. They are: Lord Briarwood Lady Briarwood Professor Anders - the tutor that betrayed Percy and Cassandra Doctor Ripley - the woman that came with the Briarwoods from Wildmount that interrogated and tortured Percy Cpt. Stonefell - the head of the Whitestone Guards that switched sides and helped the Briarwoods kill everyone

@@michaelkemmet834 I agree, despite the badassery of the original line I think it would have been less confusing to new viewers if it had been rewritten. Like "I almost forgot you were on the list" or "I'm glad to get the boring kill out of the way first. " Same vibe, but more clear in the context of the scene.

A few fun facts about No Mercy Percy and his guns: In the world of Critical Role, Percy has actually invented firearms, with the six barreled 'pepperbox' (which Percy calls "The List") being the first gun in existence. The sniper-rifle-esque weapon we got a look at this episode (though we saw him construct it in episode 4) is a powerful single-shot weapon he calls "Bad News".

Oh! I almost forgot: As a little peek behind the curtain, the death of Captain Stonefell as portrayed here is an exciting recreation of one of my favorite HDYWTDT moments from the first campaign: where Taliesin Jaffe said Percy would "make a hole the size of a baseball in the center of his chest".

@@shaskusmas Correct. Stonefell died from Percy blowing his head off after "You were the one I was least looking forward to." Stonefell never actually knew Percy was the one who shot him because Scanlan forgot to drop the illusion he had on the party.

Ashley was gone for long periods of time over the span of five years. There was an ongoing joke that they wanted Blindspot to be canceled so they could have her back. The show wrapped up filming and she was finally able to be back in LA full time.... just in time for covid to hit and they had to go on hiatus to restructure their studio for social distancing.

The nice thing about the map in the episode, is that it was sort of a callback to the standard map for a home D&D game where people who play in a more "cheap" way use to make miniatures with everything they've got, in this case corks 🤣. A little something to love this episode even more, one of the things that us Critters are enjoying the most is the attention to details, to those that usually go unnoticed. Percy is a Gunslinger and gunslingers can use their weapons to perform particular shots called Trick Shots that can have different useful effects and they used some of them in rapid sequence in this episode. Percy can perform a Disarming Shot (when he blew up Stonefell's hammer), a Winging Shot to knock the enemy prone (the one just before the eyes reveal with Stonefell that knocked him on the ground) and a Violent Shot to inflict more damage (when Percy blew Stonefell's arm off). I find just amazing that they pictured those in this episode to show the anger of Percy, who just threw everything he got to one of his nemesis. That's another complete level of detailing imho 😁 If I may suggest, Campaign 3 is great but it contains a ton of spoilers from this campaign and this specific season of TLoVM. The risk for you is to have everything spoiled, and I'm not referring just to this season, I'm really talking about the end of the whole animated series, since they clearly talk about it.

That’s so cool about Percy’s different gunshots and what they’re used for! Would’ve just thought it was super cool consecutive moves to hurt Stonefell. @@FandomZone One of the joys of watching campaign 1 is Grog managing the bag of holding. Being a meat pillar, he carried stuff, including the Bag of Holding. People would put a thing into the Bag. When they wanted to retrieve the item, there was a chance that Grog, just to fuck with them, would make them trade something else for the thing they wanted. Percy trying to get his glasses out of the Bag was *chef's kiss*. Travis' frequent joy at the goofy stuff he got to do because of Grog's 6 Intelligence is fun to watch.

Fun fact, Keyleth's tiger form is called Minxy ;). Speaking on music. I would recommend some fanmade music videos based on Critical Role. Such as Vox Machina: An Exandrian Musical, which is basically the Hamilton musical but with redone to fit the story of Vox Machina. They did a whole album. But that would preferably after you finished this whole series since it has a bunch of spoilers. Also check out Critical Role's narrative telephone. It's a funny series of videos that started during the pandemic when they couldn't sit together around the table. It's a game where one person tells a story that everyone are supposed to retell and then the next person, and so on. I don't explain to well, but it's very fun. And spoiler free. :)

Two different styles (though they also work beautifully together on a duet) of telling individual character stories, plus Lilli has a beautiful song about Matt and I think Chase has one about Brian W. Foster. Mostly Mighty Nein (Campaign 2) stuff, I think, for both of them (I know that's been true until recently for Lilli), but Lilli has started doing some Vox Machina character songs as well. The “magic bag” is actually a bad of holding. It is infamous in D&D and most groups say there is no limit to how much it can hold on the inside but it will remain small on the outside. The entrance to the bag is actually and entrance to a pocket dimension of infinite size. When you want to retrieve something just think of want you want and when you go to grab something out of the bag it will be there. However if you put something in the bag that is sharp and can penetrate the bag it will result in a massive explosion and create a tear into the Astral sea (kind of like space) and suck in anyone within a certain radius.
@elbruces
@elbruces 2 жыл бұрын
It's not infinite, it's about the size of a closet.
@LadyAranel90
@LadyAranel90 2 жыл бұрын
I mean, the Astral Sea is a plane of existence that is described as "a realm of thought and dream, where visitors travel as disembodied souls to reach the Outer Planes. /.../ Most the Astral Sea is a vast empty expanse. " So not exactly space. Also, as El Bruce said, the bag of holding is definitely not infinite. Here is the exact description of the bag of holding (sorry for the long text btw): "This bag has an interior space considerably larger than its outside dimensions, roughly 2 feet in diameter at the mouth and 4 feet deep. The bag can hold up to 500 pounds, not exceeding a volume of 64 cubic feet. The bag weighs 15 pounds, regardless of its Contents. Retrieving an item from the bag requires an action. If the bag is overloaded, pierced, or torn, it ruptures and is destroyed, and its Contents are scattered in the Astral Plane. If the bag is turned inside out, its Contents spill forth, unharmed, but the bag must be put right before it can be used again. Breathing Creatures inside the bag can survive up to a number of minutes equal to 10 divided by the number of Creatures (minimum 1 minute), after which time they begin to suffocate. Placing a bag of holding inside an extradimensional space created by a Handy Haversack, Portable Hole, or similar item instantly destroys both items and opens a gate to the Astral Plane. The gate originates where the one item was placed inside the other. Any creature within 10 feet of the gate is sucked through it to a random Location on the Astral Plane. The gate then closes. @@LadyAranel90 Did I not say most people home brew that it is infinitive? I know the literal description. Most tables homebrew the magic item because following a carry compactor is a pain in the…….. So for sanity sake most tables just say the carrying compacity is infinite.

@@Fsudryden I'm so sorry, I somehow misinterpreted that part of your comment. I apologize. When you say it like that, it's true that some groups do. I just never do in my groups. The fact that it's not infinite is what makes it more interesting to me. Saying that it's infinite feels like a way just to cheat the encumbrance system. But of course, people are allowed to do whatever they want in their games as long as everyone has fun :).

@@LadyAranel90 we do this because we don’t like the encumbrance system. There are so many things to keep track of in D&D this extra one is a little too much. So this is how we kind of go around it.

If you recall, twice in this episode there were reference to the resistance's spy, the Kestrel. This should clue you in as to the precarious position Cassandra is in

"The kestrel is with Anders, she'll be difficult to extract" and Stonefell revealing "We know all about your little spy, the Kestrel." Fun fact; you'll see in the credits of last episode the unfortunate little girl was voiced by Kestrel Riegel, voice of Scanlan Sam Reigels' daughter.

A flock of metapigeons flew in to remind you that the cast of Critical Role did a shit ton of anime VO back in the day. So, rather unsurprisingly, there are references to Naruto Shippuden, Attack on Titan, all that.

You two are amazing reactors! I really commend you guys :D I do hope you switch to Campaign 2 (at least for the time being because there are spoilers for the show that are referenced in Campaign 3) :(

We are going super slow through it, but may change to C2 until this season finished to avoid spoilers

@@FandomZone C2 is a truly amazing adventure and I highly recommend starting there. c3 seems to already have more spoilers and it just started. C2 seems more tailored to really shy away from C1 spoilers and lets people with fresh eyes dive into this world for the first time. You guys are amazing and I am really diggin your content!! Thanks!

Other people are warning about spoilers in Campaign 3, but I don't think it is as bad as they make it out to be. Vox Machina wins in the end, and become legends. You get that much from the title of the show.

I agree, I think C3 pairs extremely well with the show - and that's very likely deliberate. Admittedly I'm a spoiler-neutral to -positive person in general, though.

I mean, the most recent livestream spoiled the entire series climax in a library research cutscene. If you care about spoilers even a little it should be avoided.

you shouldn't watch C3 though, MANY spoilers for this are in it, not only what is going to happen but also how it is going to end. C2 had 0 spoilers.

i am so glad u started watching critical role!! u get the door and other jokes now! especially the front door vs backdoor lmao love that campaign 3 humor if u thought these door jokes were funny u should watch the original door scene heres a funny animation of it that just has the dialogue kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gd5dh5SpyqumoZs.html TAKING 3 SPELLS TO OPEN A DOOR i dont know whats more embarrassing that or not being able to open a door and having piss dropped on you both pretty embarrassing the big difference was in the original the stakes were lower (they were breaking into a church there was no heist at that moment)
