Composed by Koji Kondo. Recreated by me. This was made possible by locating the original instrument samples from workstation keyboards and drum machines before they were put into the game and rebuilding the soundtrack from the ground up, applying some modern mixing techniques along the way to lift the veil of 16bit compression and create an updated listening experience. I've only ever visited one environment in waking reality this masterpiece was an appropriate soundtrack for - a rare, hallowed fen variation, held within a lofty mountain vale... Thanks again for your work on these restorations Sam.

Fun fact: This game's OST is actually my favorite from all videogames I've played so far, and this particular theme is my favorite of them all, so being able to listen to this is kinda like hearing it for the first time again, thank you very much for doing this! Your job is really amazing!!

Still remember my biological mother and my reaction to landing in the dark world. The fantastic music makes you feel like a hero landing in a decrepit version of a once glorious world, and nothing illustrated that better to me than the insane amount of damage everything deals and takes. You quickly get the impression that you're not welcome and that everything is out to kill you. Kid gloves are off, and hat off to you, Mr. Miller. This is amazing.

Ah, this takes me back (well, to the mid-‘00s anyway, since I didn’t get to play this on the SNES back in the day). I gotta admit, the remix they did for Lorule Field in _A Link Between Worlds_ is one of my favourite overworld themes in the series to date, on-par with a handful of others (let’s see if anyone can guess my Top 5). I’ll always remember the moment I used the Magic Mirror in Agahmim’s Chamber inside Hyrule Castle for the first time, this tune playing in the background as a vista of the Dark World/corrupted Sacred Realm rolls in the distance behind the Pyramid of Power… excusing the pun, this series is magical. 🧚‍♀️

This brings tears to my eyes, sir... To finally hear this without the insanely compressed samples is the aural equivalent of taking off both the sunglasses indoors and the vaseline filter... The only way this would get better was if it was done without the limitation of the 8 max simultaneous voices of the SPC sound hardware (designed by the father of the PlayStation, Ken Kutaragi, no less; after being greatly dissatisfied with how the waveform tone/OPL1.x/2 sound generators of the era sounded for game music, came up with the 2 chip combo that makes the SNES sing)

Cool rendition! It still sounds very different from the original tho, still can't really imagine that these are using the original samples. Still great as a unique rendition, sounds a lot cleaner! The horns do sound like the originals but the other samples sound different to me.

Less music compression would make things slightly different, similar to the DK remasters.
