Skyward Sword was so different, especially as a follow-up to Twilight Princess which could not have been any more different in terms of direction, design, and artistic style; sometimes feeling like something other than a Zelda game. That being said, it was a beautiful awesome memorable game, and this song will always make my heart ache with nostalgia and my eyes tear up with emotion.

+Nathaniel Olsen (Nathan) The boss wasn't that hard, or maybe I was just THAT too hard on the boss... Spirit Tracks was my favorite when it came out. Since you were with Zelda the whole game(almost) But no kissing scenes in any of the games which is upsetting.

As someone who personally grew up with motion controls and got used to them fast, I can personally say, after playing them all, this is by far the best. However, Wind Waker comes in a REALLY close 2nd. If you have not played this game, I HIGHLY recommend you do. It is one of the greatest of all time.

AaronardoAaronToon Wii is pretty recent, we're just barely into the start of the 8th generation and the prior gen is still getting games released. anyway, i don't feel like SS is the best in any way except the story (but even then i feel Majora's Mask was also up there for that area). SS was too railed, too loaded with tutorial, too much predictability (get an item? use it throughout the next dungeon and never again!), lacked any meaningful exploration beyond maybe some desolate floating islands with chests on them, and the bosses babied you with too-direct "hit me here to win" weakspots that were way too obvious.

I'm sick of hearing this crap about SS having too long of a tutorial. Its tutorial is one dungeon long. After that, you're on your own. Don't tell me YOU didn't have trouble finding the pieces of the key in Eldin Volcano.

Sad story: The year this game came out, my cats were in their prime. They were happy to just be with me and that’s who they had. About eight months ago, one of them passed away. I just played this for her elderly sister, the last one, to help her feel relaxed and happy. I played this game so much throughout the years, even emulated. I’m now married and moved away, from home, so I always need to see her at least once a month, if not more if I can help it. She knows the song; she may not know how, but she started purring when she heard it. It breaks my heart, today. And it brings me joy, remembering the years; though I sit with my last precious kitty, not knowing when I’ll be saying goodbye. Thank you, dear uploader. ❤

I loved t for the music, and story.. but it wasn't as open as other games sch as TP or OoT were. these were more of hall ways with few somewhat big rooms. then the desert which was the only open area was full of quick sand. so it as to restrictive. I only played through it 2 times before I stopped. unlike TP where I have counted over 86 play throughs... ( I tally it :D )

I was a good game no doubt but it wasnt great, especially compared to Zelda games that came before it. I hated that when you pass the first 3 dungeons, you then have to go back into those dungeons, only a different route than previously. In short, there was far too much back tracking...and it didnt help that the motions controls were hit and miss

Whenever I listen to this music on my balcony, I shut my eyes down, sit down in medtating position and start thinking myself on the skies, hanging form a cloud. I imagine myself looking at a battlefield, a battlefield of iron and leather between beasts and humans, both sides running at eachother, the earth shakes, the birds fly and the sunset brigthest as ever. fear in some and exitements in others, hesitation surrounds the battlefield and the people. The only thing holding them together: the scream of dreamers filled with courage. People struggling and figthing to reach a certain place and goal, people like you and me, all different united in order to stop destruction, standing up to fate with blood and hope. Ahh yes, my blood starts boiling when I hear to this masterpiece. themes like this awaken the abitious child in me and a explotion of ideas rush out of my mind. What do You imagine wjen listening to such masterpiece?

+Husk I started the game last week and finished it, i hate the goddamned avocado thing, bosses in general are bland, exept for koloktos( the first the though, then it gets easy & boring) i mean, they are reaaaaaaly easy. but. "The Horde", Ghirahim 3, and Demise are really fun, especially demise, you beat the shit out of hi and rip his ass of with that 360 thunder skyward strike plunge....dude. For the OoT vs SS debate, Oot has much better bosses

The game is really, really good, for the most part. The controls were hit and miss, depending on the person. There was some unnecessary and silly padding thrown into the game that I think affected pacing a lot, like diving to find the notes and some other things that I think should just have been cut from the game honestly. Having said all of that, soundtrack is fantastic, art style is great, and the dungeons and zones were a treat to explore and think through. The ship puzzles and some other puzzles were really great. I feel like the game spoiled a few of the puzzles though when no hints were necessary. They sometimes spoiled the fun of solving them, like in the ancient cistern. The solution is written on a tablet when thinking up the solution for this would have made the player feel really smart.

I'm not super duper attached to the Zelda series, since I haven't played too many of the games. However, this game holds a very special place in my heart as being my first. And it did NOT disappoint. I'm one of the biggest Zelda fans ever and I still haven't played this game. Every time I listen to this tune I kinda die inside but at the same time have a little hope for the future. My Wii broke long ago waaaay before the Wii U, and I couldn't get another one because just my luck, i have parents that absolutely hate video games. I'm so glad I beat Twilight Princess before the system was taken away for a year then later found to be inoperable. I've played OOT, MM, MC and TP. And only beat OOT and TP. Oh what would I give to play and beat all the Zelda games in existence. Excluding the CD-I games of course.

I don't really like Skyward Sword but only 2 things tick me off , the only two things I loathe are, how linear it is, and the whole entire concept of it being in the sky. I really hate riding on the Loft-wings. It was only 2 things but constantly having these mechanics used throughout the game really ruined it for me.

Skyward Sword is the best Zelda game in my opinion. It got the graphics perfect, like it took Wind Waker's and Twilight Princess's and mixed them to get the right balance between realism and cartoon. The motion controls made it feel incredibly real, like you were the one wielding the legendary Sword of the Goddess, slashing down your opponents one by one. It's storyline was fantastic, I really wanted to reach out and grab Zelda with my own hands as she fell into the dark tornado. Ultimately, it is one of the best games I have ever played, and I look forward to the released of Zelda for the Wii U next.

Skyward Sword is my favorite Zelda game so far. It really has a deep story with great designed areas, dungeons and tricky puzzles throughout the game. The controls were a nice new experience and I really enjoyed them - I had no problems at all. The bosses were quite demanding and fun to defeat. Also, I love the end boss Demise. It's a hell of a badass character imo, maybe even my favorite Zelda character. The final fight could be a bit longer and more intense, but overall it truly pleased me. Like you, I am super excited about Zelda U. Can't wait to play it!

bandoogiemanz You are right about Zelda OoT being a milestone in the series. However, I disagree with you on the music. OoT has a good soundtrack, no doubt. But I like Skyward Sword's soundtrack even more. There are so many good and emotional tracks that it's almost unbelievable.

Skyward Sword's main theme is perhaps the new and next main theme for future Zelda games, can be because the original we all know is beginning to be old and too well known. To say nothing of that this maybe the newest Main theme for the Zelda series because Skyward Sword came out as the 25th Anniversary for the Zelda franchise.

+Erica Whatever the most recent main series Zelda game is, people call it the worst one ever... until the next one. When Majora's Mask was released people said it sucked and was a big letdown after Ocarina Of Time. Now they say its one of the best Zelda games ever. When Wind Waker was released people said it was terrible. It turned the series into a kids cartoon and completely ruined everything about the series. Now they say its one of the best Zelda games ever. When Twilight Princess was released people complained about the story not being exciting, and they complained about the wolf gimmick. Now they say its one of the best Zelda games ever. Skyward Sword is the most recent main series Zelda game, and guess what.... People say its horrible. Whenever a new major series Zelda game is released, everyone always complains about it. Ten years later, they call it a masterpiece.

Am I the only one who had a hard time with this game? I bound through Wind Waker with no problem and did the same with a good chunk of TP and OoT. I got to the location right before the 2nd dungeon of the game and I just couldn't figure out what I was supposed to do for about a half an hour. The dungeons aren't closed, they have typical Zelda dungeon setups. There are some hallways and mini-rooms that are all linked to one big room. You guys need to just take a chill-pill, stop letting nostalgia blind you, and realize that this is not a crappy game (and, in my opinion, is the best Zelda of all time).

Skyward Sword had some of the most innovative dungeons that we've seen in the franchise. I agree that this game is one of, if not, the best title in the series. The story was excellent, the characters were deep, the gameplay was fun (when it wasn't frustrating) and it had some creative boss fights. I think the only reason people hate this game is the completely messed up controls, when the Wii remote is out of sync, its noticeable.

The only reason I can think of that people could justify hating this game is it's actually responsive motion controls. I never had a problem with it, anyway, since I come into games that require you waggling your body around like scarecrow in a wind tunnel (okay, not really, it's actually pretty cool, but you know what I'm saying) with expectations of the console not really knowing how to respond to spasmic movements. That's partly why I did a ridiculous dance whenever I hit a ball in Kinect Sports 2. The motion control is, like I said, pretty reponsive. If it's not, maybe my constant recalibrating on my own instinct rather than the game telling me to is probably it. But regardless, it's probably my favorite game ever. Kudos Nintendo, for actually giving me little tidbits of personality I can choose to use rather than just project it on the absolute plank that is OOT Link (OOPSIE, DID I JUST SAY THAT OUT LOUD?). This Zelda fan approves.

I just have a problem with the constant re calibrations that it has to do, it's really annoying when the sword turns the opposite way to where i'm swinging, until I point at the IR emitter (I have a weird setup)

Looks like the Skyloft stage will be one of my new favorites. In Brawl, I loved the Isle Delfino stage because it moved to a bunch of locations from the game that I loved and was able to reminisce with. Also, all of the available songs on the stage were amazing. Seems to me that the Skyloft stage will be doing the same thing, but with Zelda this time :D
