Yeah! It's Sunday and 2 o'clock in the night and I'm still watching!

I have the "Zero Punctuation no repeated episodes" playlist in my favorites, and whenever I have time to watch KZfaq I just play that. There's enough of them that I don't really need anything else.

My family is getting concerned about my lifestyle since i spend the entire day watching Zero Punctuation, i just can't stop watching them.

The best part is that Wind Waker Link isn't actually the reincarnation of the hero; he really is just some kid who chooses to be the hero after his sister gets kidnapped by the giant bird.

That's basically all Zelda games, save maybe the first one. In games I'm familiar with, I start thinking of things as "money sinks." In ALttP for instance, the required flippers cost R500, half of your carrying capacity. Hell, I might do a run of various games spending as little money as I can, to see which one has the worst economy. It might be Ocarina of Time. Nearly everything can be had somewhere for free, except the deku shield and the silver scale. That's a total of 60 rupees that must exit your wallet to defeat Ganon. aLttP doesn't come close, you need the R500 flippers, Kiki the monkey takes R110, and you need the R100 superbomb to get into the pyramid faerie's house. R710.

It's nice to be able to play through a game again with a harder challenge. Granted, it's no change in difficulty if you're good at not getting hit, but for other players, it adds more challenge to the game.

Really...I just listened to the Wind Waker HD soundtrack and it still sounds like MIDI file music. They've updated the sound samples since the original release, but it still sounds like MIDI file music. I can usually tell when something's a live recording primarily from the natural reverb (echo) that it creates and I'm not hearing that. It's still got that unnatural artificial sound to it.

Back in the days of the PS1, and even the PS2, game worlds were colorful and cartoon-y; now, they're all "realistic", so they're brown and gray and boring. I'd take PS1-style graphics over modern graphics ANY day. And no, that's not just nostalgia, it's the fact that I play video games to ESCAPE reality, I don't want to see the wood grain in a desk in a video game, if I wanted to see that I'd go look at a table in my house; when I play video games, I want to see things that AREN'T anything like the real world, things I could never see anywhere else. Threads of Fate, for example, is gorgeous, and it's about as simplistic as 3D graphics get - the final final boss literally could not be rendered in modern graphics, it wouldn't be possible, it's something that could not exist in the real world. What I'm trying to say is, I would MUCH rather video game graphics had not changed since the PS1 era, and that all the evolution of the medium over time had been with game mechanics and storytelling. I don't want to see high-resolution graphics, I have reality for that; I'd rather see things that DON'T look real, and that the effort went into the actual GAME part of the games. Out of pure curiosity: Are you ten years old or younger? I know that's an insulting question, but I feel like you'd have to be ten years old or younger to think that realistic/high-resolution graphics are a positive thing. I wish they had never been pushed. The Witcher does not look good, it looks real, and those two things are not the same. Well, that might be stretching it a TINY bit, but again, I refer to Threads of Fate, a game I think is absolutely stunning even though the graphics are very low-res - if graphics had not advanced from the PS1 era, games would look a lot better, and probably play a lot better because all the effort would have gone to the important parts anyway. You are actually very unclear, to be frank.. I agreed with your original comment, so I chose to read the rest of the replies, and I think that you're confused.. Graphics isn't the same as art and setting, which is what you're talking about. Graphics is the term that includes everything regarding art design, the resolution of pixels and sprites, perspective, perception.. When you're saying that you think older games look better, it sounds to me that you're talking about settings and art choices of those games, e.g. "cartoon-y" as opposed to "realistic". That's something that I get completely, I as well enjoy playing games that aren't necessarily placed in a realistic setting. However when you're saying that "The Witcher 3 looks like shit", that's actually slander against a whole industry. The Witcher 3's graphics are fantastic, the resolution, perception and attention to detail is phenomenal. What games like that manages so well is immersion, something games with shoddy graphics don't manage in the same way, at least for me. If you want to discuss art design and talk about games with unrealistic settings, that's great. If you are suggesting that the ps1's graphics are superior to the ps4's graphics though, you're just making yourself look foolish.

Yeah, Hero Mode corrects the complaints Yahtzee had at the end there. The game is more challenging with it because there are no hearts from enemies and they dish out double damage.

For everyone not in the know, in TP Zelda only makes a total of three (three!) appearances over the course of the entire game. On the first two occasions, she does absolutely nothing at all (aside from complaining how she can do absolutely nothing at all). And on the third and final occasion, she tries to murder you. There has never been less focus on Zelda in any Zelda game, including the very first one. And she's never been less benevolent.

They kinda try to find an inbetween of Twilight Princess and Wind Waker. Skyward Sword was based off an oil painting, for example, whilst Zelda U looks more like a cel shaded Twilight Princess except with more colour.

1-the beginning takes forever 2-wolf link is kinda annoying 3-the game tries to be dark and edgy and mostly fails 4-the characters look awful. 5-it's just so easy. but it's still good i'd say,midna is probably one of the like 2 companion characters who is actually likable,and the game is very fun

Kool-aid master To me TP brilliantly succeeded at being dark and ominous, especially for a Zelda game, the athmosphere was quite something. I also liked the beginning, don't mind wolf link, and love the realistic, mature character look. And i also really like Wind Waker.

Kool-aid master If you break it down, MM was pretty sick and weird for a Zelda game. Everybody dies if you fail, not just living under Ganons tyranny. The Gorons freeze to death, the swamp got mutated and there is whole kingdome where everyone is dead or about to die (that closet in the cellar O_O). Link wears masks to transform himself into other dead heroes of the other races. He repeats the same three days over and over again like a mad dream. I'm going to boot that fucker up tonight!

Because the Wii U also has Super Mario 3D World, The Wonderful 101, Pikmin 3, Smash 4, Bayonetta 2, DK Tropical Freeze, Splatoon, Zelda U, SMTxFE (probably in 2016), Xenoblade Chronicles X, New Super Mario Bros. U (& its harder Luigi DLC), Mario Kart 8, etc.

+redhandsbluefaces I enjoy WInd Waker but it is far from my favorite, there is enough said about the sailing which gets boring when the padding starts, but the dungeons are meh and the combat relies too much on the parry attack which is unreliable. And I swear this is the only 3D Zelda game where I have trouble with the camera. Also your first trip to the Forsaken Fortress is easily the worst part of any of the 3D Zelda games.

redhandsbluefaces Not an opinion, more of an objective analysis. I don't have a favorite 3D Zelda game, they all have their ups and downs, and as far as the series is concerned, the only bad Zelda games are the first two and Phantom Hourglass.

SamVision The thing about Zelda is they sort of appeal to anyone. Some people like the freedom more, some people like the story more. Some like the action, some the puzzles. I myself particularly enjoy the music. I rather enjoyed the sailing, probably because the music was amazing. i could literally listen to The Great Sea Theme for hours, so sailing didn't really erk me at all.

It's a great song, but it took me a few listens to warm up to it. (Yes, I know your comment is older than that song is, but I just came back to this video since Escapist uploaded an old Zelda review that referenced it).

first of all, TWW HD is a remaster, not a remake. second of all, the fast sail and streamlined triforce hunts is a lot less annoying.

Jeffrey Krieger Nope, it's a remake, it changed more than just the resolution. They made changes to the gameplay, and the game looks totally different. For my money the original looks nicer.

Daniel Jones It looks way different. I can emulate the original at an increased resolution and it doesn't look the same. The new one isn't even cel shaded, it just looks that way because the textures are so simple, although at certain times it's really easy to tell. They introduced a completely different lighting engine, different textures, major changes to several game mechanics, changes to quests, new items, they redid all the music with actual instruments instead of midi tunes. If that doesn't constitute a "remake" I'm not sure what does. It's not as drastic as REmake or Metroid Zero Mission, but it's definitely not just a simple upres.

Daniel Jones I'm not going to argue that remakes and remasters are overrated; that's obvious, and I wouldn't have bought Wind Waker HD anyway, somebody else bought it for me, so of course I played it then. I'd have been totally fine with just the GameCube version; it's basically the same game. It doesn't look the same though. Similar, sure, but not exactly the same.

But it's Windwaker. so it's good.
