I've never seen anyone play and sing with such genuine joy as Levon Helm. Any performer can put on a fake smile for the show, but Levon's was real. And knowing how sick he was, and what effort it took to make his voice sing toward the end makes songs like this all the more beautiful.

He's the most drummer I have ever heard and so many other instruments. His personality was so loving and sincere, this was shown in the last waltz Most all of the musician's shook his hand or acknowledged him in someway. He was loved by everyone. I wish I could have met him
