6:22 I like explaining DnD classes to people as their character's profession/ field of expertise . I feel like it converts the idea pretty neatly. 7:34 Con based sorcerers, oh my?! I mean this does make more sense than traditional charisma based ones, but now I'm gonna run and finish the video to see if you explain how hp will work (or if it is there at all). And if it is like in normal dnd 5e, than...

That's actually a really smart idea how to explain Classes. It's a bit broad so placing it in a field/profession seems like a good way to explain I ONLY did it because there was no Class that really uses Con as a main stat and Sorc. uses it for a saving throw. It was kind of my "I can't choose anyone for CON so I guess I'll choose you" kind of thing haha HP will be brought up when we start doing combat which won't be for a while yet (probably not until next year) but still trying to figure out how HP will work. Probably Character HP and Dragon HP will have their own pools. I'm excited to keep working on it.

I know what xp is! I’m so proud!! (Please note this is the last time I will feel that emotion for the rest of the video.) Character sheets sound fun, do we get to pick costumes…oh, oh no. Classes aren’t like…princess, fae, siren, vampire…oh no. This is…I have no idea what these things are. I don’t want a weapon. I don’t need a weapon, I have a DRAGON. A PINK and SPARKLY dragon. We’re gonna HEAL people. Oh man I am so not prepared for this. And WHY ARE THERE NUMBERS NOW?! Points? Why do I need points, Ash? Is there gonna be math??? The maps are gorgeous, you put so much work into this, I am SUPER impressed and you did an INCREDIBLE job. I love that you’re including diversity, I’ve realized I’ve done such an awful job reading a wide range of authors and this is just so great, I haven’t seen any other readathons include this (and no one can complain because it’s for BONUS points). Also joke’s on you with the room temperature food thing being hard because I’m a mom and by the time I get to any food or beverage…it’s probably room temperature. And if not, PB&J remains one of my favorite foods because…sometimes I share a palate with my preschooler.

Knowing what XP is is a step in the right direction!! You don't NEED a weapon. You can put 'potions' or a type of healing item (herbs, etc.) as a loosely put 'weapon'. Maybe you just kill people with kindness haha. Fictional race is fae, elves, etc. Class is more like what path they take, you have until November to figure it out so don't pressure yourself to choose if you're unsure. You can do this, I believe! Remain calm!! REMAIN CALM! Points are just for gaining Trust/Perks, you don't NEED them but it'll make your life easier....well in your case, probably harder because now you have to figure out how it all works.. Thank you so much! I really want to read more diversely and hope this helps others do the same if they choose to Also, room temperature while being a mom is such a good point. If PB&J doesn't work out, almost anything else will. Genius

Your channel has completely taken over my entire day…I already know I’m in for the long haul and ordered a new journal I’m gonna dedicate for this but can’t decide if im gonna go for complete chaos and randomise all my choices so I have NO POWER over my character/dragon/world creation OR if I’m gonna get psychotically picky and obsess over all the things…I’m torn….would you please let me know about whether or not the Discord is compulsory for it going forward? If so I would rather get set up at the start as not. Please do let me know! And MUCH LOVE AND MORE POWER TO YOU AND THE CHANNEL. Edit sorry for the overeagerness. It’s very hard to find D&D enthusiasts where I am and nobody I know in real life plays so something I can quietly do by myself just makes my heart feel really full….

@@TheYellowBusLifeReset Ah what a choice! Chaos or organized, honestly chaos is fun but choosing is nice. Chapter One in my opinion is the hardest for those choices haha good luck! I could always help, and honestly you can just wing it and hope for the best. Also that always happens to me! Once a message is deleted I give up trying to remember what I said 😂😂

im usinig my weapon as a trident cause im going off my magical readathon character and my class is a druid cause she is a beast master, waiting for march to pick my tbr and depending on what my tbr is will determine which map i go with
