Director Jon Spira joins me LIVE to talk about his new documentary "The Life and Deaths of Christopher Lee", which covers the life of one of the world's most iconic actors.
Copies of the film will ONLY be available through Kickstarter: www.kickstarter.com/projects/...
The film, directed by John Spira, contains a Tolkien sequence animated and directed by Dave McKean.
The Blu-Ray will also include the FULL Peter Jackson interview, with a lot of footage that didn't make it into the film!

The magical thing about Christopher Lee is that he always elevated bad movies. Ever seen The Man with the Golden Gun? Lee made that movie watchable.

Christopher Lee was a very humble man. Despite doing such iconic roles, he was so humble in his speeches.

I fell down a Christopher Lee rabbit hole some years ago and watched a lot of clips, the man is an absolute legend! 🙌💜 His wife was Danish, but despite speaking multiple languages, he claimed Danish was too difficult for him to learn. As a Dane, I've heard that before, so no need to feel bad 😄

It's very awesome that the puppet was made by the same people who made puppets for Burton-movies, when Lee actually starred in a lot of Burton-Films...it's really astonishing what they were able to achieve with a kickstarter-movie

There is one interview, perhaps on Wogan, where Bond is mentioned & Lee says something like “I couldn’t be a spy, just look at me!”

Christopher Lee was an amazing actor and nailed it in LotR. Had the movies been made some years earlier I’d loved to have seen Peter Lorre as Gollum and either Peter Cushing or Vincent Price as Gandalf.

Great interview. I enjoyed the debunking of some of the Top Ten List items. I kept waiting for someone to reply with "if chance you call it" at 28:42.

The Scaramanga era was, in my opinion, Lee’s sexiest decade. Glad they went with the checked jacket, as Lee loved them so much!

Can't wait to see this one! I'm captivated by the LOTR connection with his passing. Maybe a family member read it to him one last time as he slipped away?. It's a beautiful thought 🤔. 🖖😎🤘🇨🇦🕊️

Christopher Lee has the most film credits than any other actor, according to the Guiness Book of Records. He was also a direct descendant of Charlemagne.

Everyone with any European ancestry at all is a descent of Charlemagne. But not everyone can trace all the steps.

I’ve seen every Christopher Lee film & TV performance that I can find. There’s an amazing variety of types & quality, but Lee is always worth watching. In Alexander and Contraband Spain he’s just a voice. In Katarsis, he looks lost. Starship Invasions is the worst because the character was telepathic & he couldn’t say his lines, just look meaningfully at the camera

I like the subject that is touched on at 47:00. It sums up my feelings about all the drama surrounding recent recent LOTR releases. At some point you have to move on and let other creative minds express their ideas.

Why is part of me like 70's LotR Christopher Lee as Gandalf Peter Cushing as Saruman Vincent Price as Radagast cuz why not just plonk him in somewhere. This vid better have viewership 10,000 strong at least before the next time I check. Also so glad to hear more people against ai, I honestly think that I would rather hear someone different who may not be 100% but is trying to be the same character (or person) like a person can be a fan, enjoy and study someone, an ai has no emotions or Human element, it cannot enjoy them.

I totally agree with your casting if the movies had been made earlier but would also go with Peter Lorre as Gollum.

Attack of the Clones was not the most successful film he made. All the LOTR films were more successful, as was Revenge of the Sith.
