What has happened has happened and it couldn’t have happened any other way, because it has. Facts are facts they won’t change it’s how we view them is key. The only thing that can possibly change is us! When how we look at things, the things we look at change. As you said David acceptance it’s not saying what they did is okay it’s an internal job, we have to accept and being okay, with what was not okay, emotionally disconnecting not ruminating being ambivalent to it to release the energy that would be anger to give it back to yourself.. The body keeps score so it’s not just mentally we suffer, we can physically suffer too! Acceptance it’s the kindest and most compassionate thing you can do for yourself. ❤❤ love all your lessons thank you so much ☺️

This teaching makes perfect sense. Events from my childhood have been brought to the surface by my present path to internal peace. I realize I cannot change what happened. Choices were made and consequences happened whether they were my own or from those around me. What I CAN change is how I now assist my "inner child" to deal with the emotions generated by the events and to let them go. They weigh an awful lot and I've been carrying those feelings for a lot of years. They are no longer necessary or relevant for my being. Getting rid of the burden frees me for hope and light. Thank you always for your wisdom. I am learning to just be. Peace to you and yours.

Dear David Time and time again The scar of those events never removed. Yes we tried letting it go. However the memories and flashbacks caused me grief and pain and great sadness . 😢

Narcissistic should not be taken lightly. It affects people’s lives. With that said, it’s okay to put a label on the behavior-the narcissist… it’s important to reflect on it and not repeat the pattern of the wrong doing or bad behavior. In time, you will heal and become a better version of yourself.

I think though that we can be influenced by others! For the tender hearted amongst us we can suffer from the cruelty of others. Ive tried to harden my heart and mind but this would be like changing my personality and ignoring the hurt. My mother is a so called Christian who doesn't agree with anything I say with a one upmanship conversation all the time. Its just impossible.She will never change .I since learnt she has NPD and is very manipulative. I visit once every 2 weeks but maybe I should stop even that??

Trying to change your fundamental nature can indeed feel like denying a part of yourself. Remember, it’s important to protect your peace and well-being. Setting boundaries is not only about limiting contact but also about defining how you engage when you do interact, which might be beneficial in your situation. In situations where change in the other person seems unlikely, focusing on what you can control-your reactions and how much you let these interactions affect you-can be empowering. It might be helpful to explore some strategies for maintaining your balance and staying aligned with your Shen spirit when interacting with your mother. If the visits are causing you significant distress, it might be worth considering if less frequent contact would help preserve your well-being, at least while you work on strengthening your own emotional responses.
