Kurama, more commonly known as the Nine-Tails, is one of the nine tailed beasts. Centuries of being regarded as a mindless monster and sought after as a tool for war caused Kurama to hate humans. After being sealed into Naruto Uzumaki, Kurama attempts to maintain its cynical perspective about the world, but with Naruto's insistence on treating it with respect, the fox overturns its hatred and willingly strives to use its power for the world's salvation.

Uzumaki as a last name and Kurama the demon fox have different meanings in Japan due to religious stories and culture....it's funny how people out west don't understand that naruto literally means fish cake in ramen ...his name is food...they literally made the hero of the story the name of the manga and the series named after ramen..its like naming batman or spiderman after food....that's hilarious in retrospect...the expression Hinata loves Naruto basically means in Japan she likes eating fish cake....that's the joke...that's why she became the legendary queen of gluttony eating 46 bowls as a joke for boruto to discover about his mom...

Except for he didn't PURPOSELY kill them, Kurama was trying to escape being trapped in another body (Naruto) so he tried killing Naruto and thus accidentally killing them WHICH was actually Tobi's/Obito/Madara's fault since he was controlling Kurama at first so of course Kurama was going mad and filled with anger and desperation for freedom!

Lol no it wasn't because a teenager told him "he was a good boy". It's more because he watched Naruto over the years growing up and Naruto's personality made him change. He saw Hagoromo in him in all those years passing. That's how he changed his mind.

Obito did that by controlling him. It wasnt kurama directly but still I see your point. That being said, I don't think Obito ever apologized for killing naruto's parents.....
