Renesmee Carlie Cullen was born on September 11, 2006 to Bella Swan and Edward Cullen. She is the resident vampire/human hybrid of the Olympic coven. She is the imprintee of Jacob Black. Renesmee's biological paternal grandparents are Edward Masen, Sr. and Elizabeth Masen, while on the maternal side, they are Charlie Swan and Renée Dwyer. It wasn't supposed to be like that. Since they don't know why imprinting happens, I always thought when I was younger that it was to keep a bit of humanity in wolves so they don't succumb to their instincts. Although Smeyer have hinted about romantic feelings, even when the imprintee is a child, and I hate it

For the technology at the time, they did the best they could. Using real babies as the base for the cgi. It’s almost impossible to recreate a mature-thinking baby with a real one as they don’t follow eye cues and all that other stuff that needed to be shown.

Ok I was willing to think Jacob imprinting on renesme the moment she was born and he looked into her eyes was him loving her as a brother and protector and later on in a romantic way only after she was an adult...but the bracelet being given to her her 1st christmas and it being the equivalent of a promise ring is just plain creepy and predator grooming weird. Sorry but cant shake that or accept as ok 😣

It’s explained in the book and movie that when someone imprints on a child it’s more like they feel the need protect them and be a caretaker/friend. It is only when they are older that the wolves develop romantic feelings.

Well, after seeing Jacob strip down and turn into a wolf right in front of his eyes, I think Charllie just accepted there's some weird shit going down with the Cullens/Blacks and just opted not to question any weird shit he sees (including the amazing aging infant). Charlie has thoroughly embraced the concept of plausible deniability.

No, actually, there is this fan book in which this topic was brought out. If their baby is a girl so genetically mom's genes will be stronger, which means she would be a human half vampire; in case it is a boy, the father's genes will be stronger so it will be a werewolf. In both cases those baby's will be able to have children that will inherit this information, making it possible to continue the lineage from both Reneesme and Jacob. While neither pairing bothers me personally, I don’t understand why so many of you are grossed out by Jacob’s imprinting on Renesmee, but you totally accept Bella and Edward. When they met, Edward was 108 while Bella was 17. The only reason you accept it is because Edward looks young. He is not. He has had over a hundred years of life and experiences. Although, Jacob has imprinted on Renesmee he doesn’t see her in a romantic way. Yes, he will as she grows older, but not at the time of the story. And, he is not the first to imprint on a child. Imprinting means that Jacob will be whatever Renesmee needs most appropriate to her age.

Tiara Averhart Psychology is a broad and interesting field. It even examines animal behavior, not just humans. The book was written by a real person who created these characters. Why shouldn’t we use it to examine fictional characters? Classes are conducted on it, there are hundreds of videos on KZfaq by actual Psychologists about the psychology of Harry Potter, Twilight, The Hunger Games, Star Wars etc. Besides, it’s not up to you what people can discuss and what they can’t. You can be closed to ideas for sure, but that’s your choice. Don’t impose on others.

It’s just because she is a baby, and that creeps people out. It’s totally understandable. When Edward meets Bella she’s already a young woman, where as imprinting for the tribe can happen as we see, when they are infants. People get protective of children and because it’s impossible to imagine a caregiver becoming a lover- because that’s not how human psychology works- the concept is disturbing. As you say, human logic isn’t compatible with supernatural ideas. So devil’s advocate and all, I can see both arguments as valid.

Both situations are ENTIRELY different. Edward may be centuries old but he stopped aging in his teenage years. He is forever a teenager, frozen in that maturity stage of when he turned. He met Bella when she was also a teenager, so it boils down to two teens being drawn and attracted to each other. Take away the vampire aspect and its pretty normal. Jacob and Renesme are gross because she is GROOMED to become his mate. He meets her when she is a child and they form a sibling-like relationship. To view someone as a baby sister and then want her sexually is a bit disturbing. Think about if in her tweens a random boy her age has a crush on her-would Jacob be protective like a brother or be jealous like a lover? Its yikes.

Elfaro A real life example of a caregiver figure becoming a lover would be the case of Céline Dion and her husband. He was her manager from the age of 9. She was the one who pursued him when she was 18. I’m not exactly sure of their age difference but I’m guessing it was 20+ years. So, it’s not impossible, per se. Human psychology, or psychology in general is very malleable. There are no absolutes where behavior is concerned. It’s what makes the study of psychology so fascinating. It’s rather fascinating to me that people have such strong reactions to something that is entirely explainable within the worldview of Twilight. The thing people don’t seem to get is that Jacob didn’t choose Renesmee, nor is he some kind of child predator. But he’s being painted as one because of something that was out of his control.

Did you guys forget that Jacob deadass asked Edward if he should call him "dad"? Regardless of whether it was played off as a joke or not, Jacob was already thinking about the romantic aspect when Renesmee was a literal toddler so no, it's not just a caretaker thing, it's a creepy grooming thing. Just imagine the perspective of a young girl, who has this hot young man devoted to her in every way since her birth. Everybody gets puppy love (no pun intended), it wouldn't be surprising if tween Renesmee had a crush on Jacob and what would Jacob do at that time? Calmly explain to her that her feelings are misguided or enable her because he'll be wHaTevEr sHe WanTs hiM tO bE? As for Edwards situation, it's literally impossible for him not to be affected by the passing years of experience, and him referring to his classmates as children is already a good indication of his mindset so yes, he understands that he's much older than Bella even if he does look like a teen so yes, it's creepy, but it's creepy in a different way from Jacob's situation because he didn't meet Bella as a literal toddler. His situation is more like a 60 y.o man falling in love with a teen, while in Jacob's case, he met Renesmee when she was several hours long and already started to think about his future with her. If you don't believe that, are there cases of imprinting in the book that only involves a platonic relationship between the wolf and somebody they imprinted on?

Honnestly having the whole Bella's pregnancy part in the book be from Jacob's point of view was SOO refreshing. I remember actually cheering when I saw his point of view for the first time. It was definitely the highlight of the 4 novels imo. then the imprinting happened and honnestly it kind of ruined Jacob's character for me. I wish imprinting didn't need to become a romantic relationship in the future, it would make things better. Plus if it didn't Jacob could have ended up with Leah Clearwater which for me should have been his happy ending : A brotherly bound with Renesmee, finally a healthy friendship with Bella, and even one with Edward, a dynamic friendship with Rosalie (even though they would pretend to hate each other), a kinda second family with the Cullen, co-working with the Sam's pack & an even cloder bound with Seth as his brother-in-law. THIS is what Jacob deserved.

But that would make the book have no flavor.The only reason novels like Twilight are popular is because everything doesn't end up great for everyone.If it did the story wouldn't be half as good as it actually is.I do like the idea of Leah clearwater with Jacob tho-I just kinda wish they had there own saga tbh.I Personally don't think in any universe his realtionship with bella or edward would be that healthy if jacob has to be there.Deep down Jacob has a special spot for bella that you can't just get rid of,and renesmee is a whole different story,the fact that imprinted on her which honestly i don't see that weird at all because its a protecter/caregiver thing and they dont always end up devolping feelings.Althought the cullens and Wolfs have been on a good peacful truce for a bit there is absoulutley no way They could be like a second family with each other.There seperated for a reason,and the truce always has a limit.The smell of vampires will never be normal to werewolves,blood will never appeal to werewolves,House dont work for wolfs either.Its just not all that practical.Honestly rosalie and Jacob would be a iconic duo,but rosalie is way to prestigous and polished for that lmao

I was _SO SHOCKED_ when I got the notification for this video. I legit thought this was an Avatar themed channel. At first I was confused when I saw the name "Renesmee". Although I don't like Renesme, not, because of like how other people are so sensitive with the whole imprinting thing but because her very existence seems like a cop out to justify the roll out for the rest of the plot. She's literally suppose to add this extra level of "perfection" to Edward and Bella's love story, bring the Cullen's and the wolf pack together and seemingly give the whole love triangle a happy ending for all parties. She just had way to much plot responsibility for such a last minute character. But regardless this was a good video.

THANK YOU! It’s explained in the book and movie that when someone imprints on a child it’s more like they feel the need protect them and be a caretaker/friend. It is only when they are older that the wolves develop romantic feelings.

As Nessie and Jacob get older they fall in love but I'm sure that Jacob wasn't in love with her as a baby/child. As for the promise ring bracelet there are lots of things that could mean. I've given a promise ring to my best friend to show that no matter what I'll always be there for her whenever she needs me. Promise rings or other promise items don't have to be romantic.

I hope Stephanie writes about Renesmee and Jacob next! I want to see Renesmees story and personality. With her as the narrator we’ll get to see so much! And honestly, I think it would be nice, once she’s of age, to end up with Jacob. That kid, he deserves a happy ending. Also, why do some people find it creepy with their relationship? Jacob, if he continues to phase, will cease aging and stay at the age of 17 just like Renesmee when she fully matures. Edward said Jacob has no sick intentions with her so the whole grooming Thing is clearly ruled out. So, if Edward and Bella can have a 90 year age gap, why is it so weird for Jacob and Renesmee to have a 17 year age gap? Just my thoughts.

It's not age that I have a problem with, what's my problem is that even though Jacob did imprint, it was on Bella's daughter, which means he is still tied to her, and quite frankly I just wish Stephanie Meyer would've just set Jacob free and have imprint on a normal human girl, like Angela, I liked her and I wished she was Jacob's imprint or the imprint of one of the other wolves.

@@juliemcintyre428 yeah, Angela is such a cute character! Love her. But for me, it wouldnt make sense for a main character like Jacob to imprint on a such a minor character like Angela. Him imprinting on renesmee completes the story and brings it full circle, even if it's the easy way out. Also, if he would have imprinted on a human he would eventually stop phasing so he could die with his imprintee. But since renesmee is immortal, jacob will continue phasing as a wolf and also be immortal. So they get to be together forever just like bella and edward do. Which I love! I dunno that's just me. Jacob literally looks at Renesmee as child and asks Edward if he should consider him as a father-in-law. Like bruh. And most people who reasonable loathe this don't like Bella and Edward as well for the same reasons. Finally, the 17 year age gap only works if both people were fully fledged adults already, so like a 30 and 47 year old in a relationship would be okay. Renesmee may physically age quickly but her mental state will be that of a preteen and there is no way that is anything but pedophilia if she were to be with Jacob

People keep talking about the weirdness of Jacob imprinting on Rennesmee but most forget the pervy relationship between Edward and Bella. Edward was 107 years old clocking a 17 year old Bella and ultimately boot knocking her when she's 18 or 19 years old. So E-Cully is the R-Kelly of the Twilight zone.

Well I guess there are many people who didn't got the meaning of Imprinting. Well you all find it weird I find it unique (never heard concept). And btw Jacob never had second or bad thoughts for Renesmee when she was child and even he didn't changed his thought after listening her maturity time (confirmed by Edward). And if Imprintee develop romantic feeling towards wolf than he will change his feelings. If she didn't feel anything romantic than that particular wolf will be Brother , frnd and Protector. There is a big difference between mate and Frnds or Brother. Simply read the books you will get the exact meaning of Imprinting. And the Vision scene is extra but it was Approved by author so may be she had good plans. And btw I will be finding it interesting to read about Renecob becoz their love story will be unique like Bellward. They will considered as the Unique and Amazing couple in Wolf and Vampire History. And for her Jacob is the best choice becoz he will never leave her, cheat on her etc etc. And btw Jacob will never force Renesmee for anything. That how Imprinting work. And from beginning Ness want Jacob and felt and wanted his present. Jacesmee or Renecob are really matchable couple. Actually the vampires in Twilight are ‘frozen’ in time. Not technically dead. So his sperm is essentially frozen inside of him, thus he can get a human female pregnant. It’s Bella’s human gene of growth that sort of “breaks” the genetic make up of vampirism so it has to allow for growth. And since the vampires don’t age -but are extremely fast, a hybrid’s growth is rapid. Hence why Renesmee goes from a newborn to a seven year old in a matter of weeks. And will eventually stop growing all together. She is unique among the vampires because unlike them (their frozen at they age they turn, they can’t learn more than say a 14, 20 or 30 year old ever can) developmentally she won’t stop aging until actually seven years old, when she will be about eighteen, maybe even older. She can learn far more than an eighteen year old ever will because she has the mental clarity and long term memory of a vampire before she even physically becomes like one.

She knew Jacob was going to attack her so she made him believe he imprinted on her, cause a shapeshifter/werewolf wouldn't imprint on a half vampire cause it wouldn't help carry on the line at all so him doing so on her makes no sense/simply ignored the lore involved. And had Renesmee got the chance to touch Aro she would have conquered the Volturi too. Alice 'doesn't learn' to see the 'shapeshifters' in her visions the movie just didn't believe in keeping continuity anymore.

@@br00ke11 I would say Edward Jacob sounds better but considering that she was planning on naming the kid after two guys who she just can make up her mind with who she wants....yeah I have to say that EJ and Renesmee are both pretty terrible baby names.
