At Lift Foils, our goal has always been to get as many people as possible to experience the unique and magical feeling of flying over water. Every new generation of eFoil stays true to this goal, not only by continuously improving, but also by elevating every part of the foiling experience.
With that in mind, we’d like to introduce you to the brand new LIFT4 and the incredible innovations that define it.
The LIFT4 was designed to prioritize three main qualities - Style, Longevity, and Performance.
After five years of extensive usage and of acquiring feedback from more than 15,000 riders, we’ve updated and reworked the majority of our components to perfect your ride and create an eFoil that will revolutionize how we interact with water and with nature.
Lift’s fourth generation eFoil is the quietest eFoil ever. It has a battery that charges in less than 45 minutes and can last up to 2.5 hours. It has new electronics, new hardware, and a complete new lineup of wings. It’s the most customizable, most powerful, and longest lasting eFoil ever made.
The LIFT4 is our best work to date.
In this video we break down why we can’t wait for you to ride it.

A few years ago I designed and built my own electric skateboard. Now, at age 74, I decided that riding 30mph on the road is not the safest way to have fun, but efoiling looks like a great and much safer way to enjoy myself. Of course, I won't be trying to reinvent the wheel, but will likely get a Lift board next season. Thanks for your design work and implementation into a high-quality product.

I’m not hating if you make it it’s yours to spend straight up. I’m sure this lift4 Is targeting them people at almost $12 thousand dollars I’m sure a ton of people have one in the garage. Looks fun really fun maybe I’ll wait around for a used one when the next toy comes out and this is no longer needed it’s amazing what people toss out .

Great show Lift team. Updates look beautiful as expected. 3:18 it was said that the remote firmware was updated to include things like "Automatic Power Disconnect.". Does this mean that the safety risk of an always-hot acceleration trigger has been addressed? Is there a safety lock after a period of inactivity (or other method) to mitigate Accidental/ unintentional trigger press? If so, is this firmware backward compatible with previous controllers?
@mikeb1039
@mikeb1039 Жыл бұрын
it has angle detection (?) that senses when an accident is happening and cuts the power to the motor before you actually go in. Apparently, though I thought it had that before..
@eFoilLakePowell
@eFoilLakePowell Жыл бұрын
@@mikeb1039 I've heard about that too. I'm anticipating a disconnect that requires confirmation from the rider before the trigger can be pressed again. Last I tried Lift, the remote rearms itself with no input from the rider.
@mikeb1039
@mikeb1039 Жыл бұрын
@@eFoilLakePowell it's very quickly just automatic to hit the power/kill button on the remote when you go in the water. My hand holding the remote and the kill button is the first thing that comes out of the water. I guess that would be a nice safety, but I wouldn't trust it and would still manually kill it.
@eFoilLakePowell

@@mikeb1039 I'm aware of this procedure as well. I've been told it's mentioned in the instructions manual too. Safety procedures don't excuse the lack of this common safety feature or vice versa. Safety procedures can be forgotten (especially by beginners) safety features could potentially not kick in as you suggested. Both are good to have. The owner of the Lift I tried, accidentally pressed the trigger after a fall or while swimming, more than once during our ride together. The other argument I've heard is that riders need to be able to have an active accelerator for powering away from a wave after a surfing sesh. An auto lock would get in the way. Simple, make the safety auto lock default out of the box, but allow it to be disabled via an app or from the settings. Experienced riders can then take on liability of an active trigger by choice. I've seen another brand do exactly this as I've described.
@mikeb1039
@mikeb1039 Жыл бұрын
@@eFoilLakePowell Ok for you then, I couldn't really care. Beside, engrained (do you have a self preservation instinct?) safety procedures do NoT go away when you use them every time you fall in the water (a LOT at first). What do fail is MECHANICAL and ELECTRICAL methods of safety backups.

I purchased a Lift3 last March and love it! Thinking of maybe ordering a Lift4 for my girlfriend this summer. Had a question about the new battery (light version) Would you say the new Lift4 Light Battery has the same capacity/range as the Lift3 Long Range battery? I am happy with the ride time of my current full range battery and wondering if the new gen4 light battery would be equivalent to it. Also, does the lift4 have a more powerful motor than the lift3? I read the lift4 can carry two people so curious if it's more powerful. If so, how much more poweful?

On the battery - a little less than former Lift3 full range
@mikeb1039
@mikeb1039 Жыл бұрын
The larger battery is the same on the 3 as 4. An hour is real world range for most folks with some getting less than that. How heavy you are. How fast you are going. How much you crash all affect range a great deal. The guys selling them are expert riders spending all their time on foil where the drag is GONE and they crash (and restart from 0) much less. You won't get an hour with the light battery probably. I would suggest anyone going with 1 battery get the larger. I may get a lite as a 2nd battery. FWIW

What is the minimum speed for efoiling on a 270 Camber Pro versus a 250 Surf V2 front wing with a 33 Carve back wing/stabilizer for a rider with a weight of 100 kg/220 lb?

Cannot speak for the these wings. But I have the 200 V2 on my Lift3. I weigh 230lbs and can stay on foil till about 8mph before it drops the board to the water. Hope that helps somewhat. I am thinking of ordering the new Lift4 with 210 Camber Pro 🙂
@mikeb1039

Nobody has that specific of information about these. I'm 235lbs and my 5'4" board came with the 200 surf wing and we got the 250 high aspect and 300 surf after that. My daughters bf is 225lbs and we both love the 300 for slow riding, can be below 5mph-ish (no speedo) no problem. The HA is interesting but hard to turn without crashing. Similar for me, with the 250 Surf V2 and the 33 Carve stabilizer the minimal speed required for foiling is around 9 mph for me (I now tested it although not with the 270 Camber Pro as front wing). We have places here where you are allowed to foil, however, the speed limit is 9.32 mph or 15 km/h. So it is pretty much just on the edge for foiling.

They don't release that info unfortunately. Not sure why as in Ebikes the battery capacity is a prime consideration. i suppose for competitive reasons, but if I had the MOST capacity I sure as heck would ADVERTISE THAT!!!!! You don't measure battery capacity in watts. Watts are what the motor uses, a 350w motor will be more powerful than a 250w motor. Batteries are AH (amp hours) or similar.
@thewrx2600
@thewrx2600 Жыл бұрын
@@mikeb1039 yes, had the measurement incorrect, good catch. That is very odd they would not release that info, I would assume it would have to be stamped on the battery. Also, guessing maybe the smaller capacity would be a battery that could be transported via airplane to allow owners to travel with their boards, and the airline limit is usually 2-3 160w batteries. On the other hand if they are using the "latest" bms and the newest 21700, possibly 18650 with a 50 min charge time to full guessing that puts the battery around my original guess of 300w'ish battery.

🤔 The battery life is very relevant to the water conditions the board is working through the temperature & the weight of the rider… if these boards even support riders up to weights of 110kg …. 🤷‍♂️🏂

I'm 235 and the 5'4" does, but not easily without motive power. The board is under water mostly and it can be difficult to stay on it in a stationary, non powered situation. Mostly jump on and hit the throttle. Speed (even just a little) solves most/all stability situations and once you are moving it's as solid as it needs to be. How good a rider you are is the prime variable. Good riders STAY UP and on the foil where 80-90% of the normal drag is gone. Learners fall a LOT. Taking off from a stop and getting up to plane takes a LOT more energy out of the system. Even the intermediate step of staying up but surfing the board on the water instead of flying takes a lot more juice. If you aren't flying most of the time you will struggle to get an hour out of the battery. (lift 3 here) VERY IMPORTANT TO UNDERSTAND. But you will also be tired at or before that hour is up. We seldom have anyone go an hour straight on ours, even when they can.
